| Will the Senator-elect elaborate on his desire to "restore the authority and autonomy of the Senate"? Surely he is aware the Senate is an autonomous body? His Majesty has nothing but the highest regard for this Senate and its members, who elected him as Chancellor, supported his New Order reforms, and continue to do so. A part of those reforms was to constitute the Senate in its present form. In expressing a desire to change this, am I to assume that Ralltiir is questioning the Emperor's judgment?

| Ralltiir assumes that having ushered in his reforms, the Emperor would be gracious enough (considering he has "the highest regard for this Senate and its members") to permit us to elect a Chair of the Senate from among us. It's unfortunate that a man such as yourself with so many demands on your time (including, if the rumors are true, the tasting of the Emperor's food) must also busy himself as Chair of the Senate. Especially when the Senate has historically chosen its own Chair. That's one example. The point is, the Emperor reformed the Senate because the times had changed. Well, that was a decade ago. The times have changed again, and I assume from the Emperor's own example that he would support timely reforms (especially if the Senate approves of them). Would he not?

| Your concern for my time and well-being is touching, Mr. Fitzgerald. Needless to say, His Majesty respects the will of the Senate. Time will tell if the Senate will approve of your reforms, though. Tread carefully. The Empire does not look kindly on those who would upset the established order, and neither do I.
