| Candidate volFyr, I have one last query concerning your take on current events: Druckenwell's supposedly illegal blockade of the Monor II, whose cause Senator Terrawin has chosen to champion. What are your thoughts?

| "As far as I understand the issue Senator, it appears that the Druckenwell blockade is both sanctioned by higher authority and being conducted in a peaceful enough manner." She kept her green gaze on the Sluis Van senator as she spoke, offering him her full attention.
"I can't say that I wouldn't be just as angry were another planet's fleet to arrive in Empress Teta's orbit, but my world is also a dedicated, productive world that follows the word and spirit of Imperial Law, so there would be no reason for the Empire to sanction such an action on my world. "
"I am however hesitant to offer a firm position on this issue because I must regrettably confess that I don't have all of the facts. Reviewing the financial records of Monor II was not part of my preparation for this hearing. I do however submit for your consideration perhaps the blockade is outside the jurisdiction of the Senate. We are a legislative branch, and perhaps it would be more appropriate to craft legislation that either legalizes such blockades under written law, or bans them outright. I could make the point that the authority the Druckenwell corporation appealed to for approval of the action was the executive branch of our government, authorized to approve such an action. We couldn't very well sanction an organization for acting on permissions given it by the voice of the Emperor."
"However if a law were passed making such an action illegal, then not only would it be more reasonable to impose sanctions and penalties, the corporation in question would be committing a criminal act, and it would again be the responsibility of the executive arm to carry out the law and its punitive measures, not us."
