| Senators,
I would like to thank you all for the sympathy expressed for the injury I sustained during the Hapan debacle at Parein II. I would like to assure you that I am now in the best of health (following several days up to my eyeballs in bacta) and am ready to return to take up my duties as an Imperial Senator.
Following my injury I would like to respectfully ask the senate to consider passing this legislation.
The Heroes of Parein II Act
The Senate bemoans and bewails the loss of its loyal Moff Lestrade and extends its commiserations to the Moff's wife and family.
In recognition of the noble death in battle of Moff Humboldt Lestrade the Senate grants him the Posthumous title of Hero of the Empire and grants his wife an annuity equal to his salary as Moff. The Senate also respectfully submits to the Emperor to grant the Lestrade family the title of "Lord of Parein" and grants them the perpetual deed to rule the Parein II System as hereditary Governors of the system.
In recognition of the noble and strident services of his Majesty's ships Invincible and Lacerator in the face of overwhelming enemy fire I would like to propose they be awarded the Legion of Merit and all vessels present the Valour Under Fire Citation.
In order to recognize the exceptional work of Captain Alarius in taking command of the Sarin Sector fleet in the moments after the Moff's death the Senate calls upon the Imperial Navy to confirm his promotion to the rank of Line Captain.

I can't say as I knew the late Moff, but by all means, his family should not lack, nor should any of the brave participants go unrewarded.

| Naturally I cast my vote in favour. I would like to add that I am sorrowed by the way events turned out at Parein II and my saddness that the Hapans did not accept our kind offer.

| Senator, we not have always seen eye to eye, and hell if given the chance we'd probably be the first two to go after each other with vibro-swords, but on behalf of the Khoonda Administration, I welcome you back to the Senate Halls and hope that your recovery is that of a fast one. | I also vote in favor. Moff Lestrade and his subordinates should be honored for standing up to what appears to have been a wanton invasion of the Empire. Yes, it's possible that this invasion arose out of a misunderstanding, originally. But Kso Da'shune and his refugees were educated about the circumstances and, with full possession of the facts, acted irresponsibly in opening fire on Imperial forces and shooting an Imperial Senator rather than discuss the offer the Empire had made to them, which does seem to me a reasonable one (which included free passage elsewhere, if desired). Incidentally, welcome back, Senator Oriel. I'm glad your wound wasn't severe and that there were no impediments to your recovery.
