| The Heroes of the Empire have been called upon many times to shed their blood in the name of the Empire. I call upon the Senate to form a committee who's role would be to preside over the Monuments and Memorials of the Galactic Empire (and those inherited from the Galactic Republic) to ensure their upkeep and to ensure funds are being spent in a fair and just way which magnifies and reflects the huge sacrifice made by so many Imperial Citizens in the name of the Empire.
Monuments and Memorials Committee Act
I propose the following responsibilities be allotted to the Monuments and Memorials Committee - Ensure funds dedicated to the production and maintenance of Imperial Monuments and Memorials are spent suitably. - Ensure the production and maintenance of these places of dignity are partaken with due consideration to the solemn dignity to which they are dedicated. - Spreading awareness of Imperial Monuments and Memorials. - Nominating new Monuments and Memorials for funding/recognition as Imperial Memorials or Monuments. - Ensure war graves are kept in a suitable condition and be responsible for funding their upkeep. - Working to fund the excavation and study of Imperial Battlefields (as well as repatriation of bodies), Memorials and Monuments.
I propose the the committee be sat in Imperial Senate Rotunda Room 987 Sub-basement Level 93, to ensure its safety and security in recognition of the huge value of this committee to the Veterans and Citizens of the Empire. The Committee would sit four days a week for no less than four hours a sitting.
I propose Senator Tremaine Fowlkes is nominated to the head of this Committee.
I also propose that Senator Zarcaine, Senator Thanatos and Senator Cerra are appointed to the committee to ensure a blend of skills, ages, races and regional extractions.

| Senator Oriel, you honor me, but I fear I must decline. Projects and work on Sluis Van and here in the Senate have drawn much of my time, and I fear I have little left to distribute. Nonetheless, Sluis Van is in favor of this act, pending the withdrawal of my name.
Toben Domon Senator, Sluis Van

| I vote in favor. Despite our disagreements, we can all agree that the maintenance of monuments—whether to the heroism of those who, throughout history, have fought for the rights of the people or to the courage and persistence of those, from spacefarers or scientists to poets or politicians, who have stood for those rights in other ways or who have inspired us or come to represent our aspirations—is a solemn duty. I'm also pleased with the selections that Senator Oriel has made for the committee, a committee which shall be responsible not only for the preservation and promotion of monuments but for the commissioning of new monuments, too. An honor indeed, and a great responsibility.
