A tragedy on Telos IV

| Imperial Senate,
Something had happened on Telos IV. I received word from the Telosian Security Forces that an attack had occured in Thani, the capital. The TSF were able to stop this attack. Unfortunately, it was not without casualties. Millions of credits in property damage had occurred. There were over two hundred civilians killed, and dozens more wounded. Identity of the attackers have not been confirmed yet, but it is highly suspected of a Separatist attack. I will be collaborating with the TSF in launching an investigation.
This is a dark day for the Telosians. However, like every other tragedies that had happened in the past, we will prevail. We will see through to the end that those terrorists be brought to justice.

| Tremaine...it breaks my heart to hear that such a thing has happened to the people of Telos IV. Chandrila's heartfelt sympathies are with the people of Telos IV. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything that we can do, any aid that you might need. I would be happy to see about sending one of the medical ships to Telos IV immediately if needed.

| Yes, a shame. Senator Fowlkes, the Commerce Committee has received a complaint from the Telosian Chamber of Commerce with regard to an advisory to stay indoors that your government issued to all Telosians during the incident. Too all Telosians, mind you. Concern for the people of Thani is understandable, as this is where the incident occurred. But the Chamber of Commerce has reported a significant hit to revenues amounting to hundreds of millions of credits because Telosians across the planet remained indoors, abandoning places of business even in areas where there was no apparent danger to the people.
The Commerce Committee will take no action on this particular incident since your government was clearly motivated by a concern for its people, if perhaps an unreasonable one (outside of Thani, that is). However, we do ask that you remind the Telosian government that it should be in full possession of the facts before it issues advisories to its people at significant cost to the planet's economy. The government should be sure that such advisories are indeed necessary, as this one evidently was not.

| I find it rather crass of the Senator from Brentaal to be raising economic considerations so soon after the deaths of over 200 innocent people on Telos IV. Without knowing the extent of the danger it seems only reasonable that the Telosian government did what it did—warned all of its people of the potential danger. If it hadn't done so, and if the attack had been a far larger one than we now understand, it would be criticized for having not warned its people. I for one support the conduct of the Telosian government in this matter and I offer the condolences of the people of Naboo for this tragedy.
