Senator Terrawin, my most heartfelt apologies for my statement to you in which I expressed my opinion.
Senator Cambrist, I point out that a chance exists for misuse of any position where a person wears multiple hats, largely so that you'll see it's not happening. The same could happen to you as well. I am just rather annoyed that people do their best to discredit an honest businessman who has his world's best interest at heart. All I ever hear is 'merchant of death' this and 'lawbreaker' that. Very few people look at the positives that have been brought about.

Mr. Stark is known, unfortunately, for his lack of tact and ability for making the wrong statement. If Mr. Stark does indeed accept this position, I have the utmost confidence that Mr. Stark will not cross his business with his position. However, if it assuages your worry, Senator Cambrist, there are a number of checks and balances among the Houses of Lorrd and the Lorrdian government system to ensure no abuse is happening.
House Garth, I might add, is very stringent about what is done when it comes to such matters. If there is nothing else, gentlebeings, I suggest the Senate return to its normal business.

Nor am I the regulator of my own private army (for the record, Senators, I don't have or need a private army; Mr. Stark does).
However, Senator Lekpin is, as ever, a reasonable man. I accept his assurance that Lorrd has checks-and-balances in place to prevent Mr. Stark's abuse of his position as Defense Minister. I accept this assurance because I notice Senator Lekpin wisely declined to take responsibility for the decision to appoint Mr. Stark to the position, and I sense that the Senator and I agree more than we disagree.

| Senator Cambrist, these issues did occur to me, were I to accept the posting.
If Lorrd were to purchase products from Stark Defense Conglomerate, I would undoubtedly find a way to channel any expenditures back into Lorrd, either in the form of scholarships or something helpful. I'm not there to rob my own people, after all. I certainly have a lot of confidence in the products produced though. There are a number of legal means in which purchases could be made without accusations of corruption and lack of confidence.

| To be clear, Mr. Stark, I haven't tried to disparage you or your motives. The conflict of interest here isn't necessarily that Alyn Stark will misuse the position of Defense Minister, it's that the "possibility exists," as you said. But I'm content to move on—this is by no means the most important issue confronting the Senate.
