1. Do you feel it to be appropriate that a private company owned by one of your citizens has made a "Mutual Defense Pact" with an Alien species enclave spanning a whole Sector?

2. Do you believe Stark Defense Conglomerate is a Sovereign entity?

3. Do you believe Stark Defense Conglomerate ought to have been granted an unfair and likely illegal monopoly over a whole industry over a whole Sector?

4. What are you going to do to reign in your rogue company?

To remind the Senate, it is this species with which Mr Stark has made his alliance, they are a barbaric and fallen race, living in the ruins of their old civilization and imagining their former glories.

The SDC Chastisement Motion

1. SDC is not and never will be a sovereign power; as such it has no ability to make treaties or mutual defense agreements with sovereigns. Thus the mutual defense agreement with the Gree is null and void.

2. SDC has attempted to create a monopoly in the most blatant and inappropriate manner, preventing any kind of competition and risking damage being caused to the Galactic Economy. Thus SDC's Exclusivity agreement is null and void.

3. SDC, and it's owner Alyn Stark is officially rebuked for this type of clear attempt to hegemonize a lesser developed species of alien without consultation of the Galactic Empire's relevant authorities. For this callous and stupid attempt to lock the Galactic Empire's Members and Corporations out of a whole industry over a whole Sector, Alyn Stark is stripped of all decorations and awards granted by the Galactic Empire.

4. SDC shall pay the costs of the Galactic Empire (should it wish to charge any) for the restoration of the status quo in the Gree Enclave.

Senator Kadram,

1. The term 'Mutual Defense Pact' was actually a gross misprint in an entirely badly-written article full of a number of fallacies by one of the junior writers of the Kanz Sector News. I have been in contact with them to see that a retraction be made and corrections made as well to prevent issues of assumption coming into play.

2. No I do not.

3. I would not say that they have been granted anything illegal or even a monopoly over an entire sector. I would actually like to offer the floor to Lord Stark so that he might be able to better explain the truth behind what was an erroneous article.

4. Stark Defense Conglomerate is not a rogue company.

Senator Kadram, seeing as how you have been misled by an incorrect article with the wrong facts, I fear I must vote against this.

This is absolutely asinine, Mr. Kadram. As Mr. Lekpin said, check your sources and please.....bring proof before the senate in the form of something more than a flimsy newspaper article.

Chandrila is firmly against.

Mr. Stark is recognized to correct any inaccuracies in the article in question and to address the points Senator Kadram has raised. The chair asks that he keep his remarks as brief as possible.

Thank you, Chairman Pestage.

As brief as I can be, Stark Defense Conglomerate is not entered into any 'mutual defense pact.' Talks are in process with Stark Defense Conglomerate Security Corps and the Gree Enclave to provide stationary defenses with mobile support for two of their worlds as a private defense contractor. At this time, the SDCSC is still growing and cannot provide the necessary manpower for this venture. However, the contract is open-ended if signed, allowing for a certain amount of time before contractual obligations must be filled.

The other misprint was that Stark Defense Conglomerate has an 'exclusivity contract' with the Gree Enclave. This is an untruth. Talks are in process as well to have a preferred contract. However, as the Gree Enclave are not fond of fighting, this is not in reference to an arms contract and rather in use for medical supplies and trade transport. Naturally, this allows for the competition between varied companies wishing to market within the Gree Enclave.

It would appear that Mr. Stark has satisfactorily addressed the Senate's concerns. However, I must express my disappointment at the journalistic ineptitude of the Kanz Sector News, which to my knowledge still hasn't published a correction. But I suppose this isn't surprising from a news outlet that claims to be read in more star systems than actually exist in the galaxy. It would appear the lesson has been learned; the Kanz Sector News cannot be depended on for the caliber of reporting we've come to expect from, for example, the Imperial News Network. Shall we move on, Senators?
