| This Senate lauds the worlds of the Kanz Sector for their heroic implementation of Imperial edict and notes with especial fondness the genocidal persecution of the Vianists on Sipsk and Lorrd. The Imperial Senate grants the Sector Moff the Imperial Medallion of Service for his ongoing service in seeing that the Vianist threat is exterminated in a thorough and resolute manner.
This house also creates the new decoration, the Civilian Medal of Horror (analogous to the Military one but for those not serving) which shall be granted to those who serve in a capacity where they are forced to make difficult decisions for the greater good of the Empire - and which may be comfortable. The Civilian Medal of Horror is to be first granted to each of the ruling Lords of the Ruling houses of Lorrd, the present Chief Coach of the Sipsk and Prime Minister Snar of Argazda for their roles in expediting the genocide. Each of these three worlds is to receive a bronzium statute at the Empire's expense to commemorate their loyal persecution of this dark Vianists who threatened out way of life, this statute shall be erected outside of the legislature of each world and shall weigh no more than one ton in each case.
The Kanz Genocide is henceforth to be referred to in official publications as either the "Kanz Purges" or "The Glorious Genocide" - for there has indeed been glory to be had for all in the ending of a potentially grievous threat to the Empire.
This motion furthermore officially outlaws the practice of Vianism, with there being no upper limit on sentencing for the possession of Vianist literature, dissemination of Vianism or the practice of Vianist ceremonies.

| I propose the amendment that all references to "Kanz Genocide" or "The Glorius Genocide" be changed to simply "Kanz Purges".

| I don't think the Empire is repressive or tyranny. Genocide doesn't necessarily imply either.
It's just a word, stop applying your own worlds historical prejudices upon it.

| I do not think so either, Senator Ordan. That is why I have proposed such legislation, to avoid such connotation. I am not applying any historical prejudices in regards to myself or the Cygnus Star Empire; rather, I am applying the common association the word has among the galaxy's majority. Would you refer to be called a Human or a primate, Senator Ordan?

| Either would suit... Purge is ambiguous and frankly sinister, as if there is something to hide it hides by having a meaning as a simple noun. Genocide is a bold word, an assertive word and one which shows no shame. These people were a threat to the Empire and so they had to be killed or removed by force - that is what these courageous men did.
For a man who seems to have such regard for definitive language, your tiptoeing around the tulips as regard the extremely efficient and moderate genocide shames you. Call a shovel a shovel my father told me (not that he or I ever owned one), and there is little point in pandering to the mob's desire for flowery euphemism. It's regrettable they had to die of course, but it was only those humans who brought it upon themselves who died, and their families can take solace from the fact that they died for the greater good of the Empire over their stubborn and irrationally held nonsense.

| I must speak here on behalf of the Ruling Houses of Lorrd, who wish no recognition or awards for carrying out the orders given forth by Moff Shirnoq. In regards to what this should be referred to, I have no real feelings on the matter. It was a task given to safeguard the Empire; nothing more and nothing less.
