Patents to Tractor Beam Deployed Gun Platform System seen on the Dictator-class Design Patents to pairing a tractor beam with another weapon system in the same turret as mounted on the Rothana-class Destroyer Patents to the Anti-Drone Slicing "Electronic Warfare Array" described on the Rothana-class Destroyer Patents to a Duranium Electroplated Armoured Prow, paired with additional hull reinforcement as seen on the Outer Rim Class.
New devices
Tanglespace Interdiction Assembly
The Tanglespace Interdiction Assembly is a device originally pioneered to discourage large raiding ships. Originally developed as a traffic control measure to slow down freighters and ease problems in Star Systems with speed limits this is a militarized version.
Technical Specifications Length: 50m
Propulsion Unit(s): Small thrusters to adjust orbit or change position
Power Plant: Power cells charged by deployable solar panels
alternatively
Hydrogen fusion generator
Shielding: 300 SBD Armour: Durasteel Platting over Duracrete interior with Neuranium spine in the center. Armament: Tractor Beam Sensors: Mass, Radar and Optical Complement: One Sensor Beacon (to b deployed if its own array breaks down) Crew: R1 Unit hardwired in Consumables: 1 Month with hydrogen fusion generator, indefinite with solar panel variant.
Use:
If a vessel approaches and is either firing in a hostile manner (at the discretion of the droid aboard), breaking the speed limit or if the Assembly is ordered to Interdict by Comms Laser or Hypercomms, it will lock a tractor beam on to it's target. This tractor beam takes the form of a wide "tether" beam which only works on vessels of around 25m in length or above, and is optimised for those over 100m.
The tractor beam will not be distracted by chaff (as it targets by mass paired with optics) and is too wide in its beam to lock on to small objects like torpedoes, preventing the traditional escape method for combating tractor beams. The ship is essentially a giant block of reinforced concrete, coated in a layer of armour with a tractor beam extremely securely affixed.
Effects on a shielded ship
On a vessel under 100m long this will have the effect of reducing their speed by 1/2. On a vessel 101m-500m this will have the effect of reducing their speed by 1/3rd. On a vessel 501-1000m this will have the effect of reducing their speed by 1/4. On a vessel 1001-2000m this will have the effect of reducing their speed by 1/10 On larger vessels the effect will be negligible, but might knock a few percent off.
If multiple are placed the effects should be considered to stack to a reasonable extent. It should be stated that these ships could boost engine power, but this would cause considerable depletion of shields and hull damage as the vessel drags a superdense object while accelerating - think of it as the equivalent of a ball and chain.
Secondary Effects - Hyperspace prevention
The Tanglespace is also able to be set to a "Hyperspace Prevention" mode, in this mode it will switch beams as soon as its sensors detect a shield dropping on a large ship (over 100m in length) and will instead focus its shields on a section of hull or system around 25m across (the thinnest it can refine it's beam), this means that as the ship targeted jumps to hyperspace, it will be like being hanged with a rope that is too long - the attached part is town off.
This naturally also has the effect of ripping the Tanglefoot apart, but in tests it was shown to be able to cause the rend in the enemy's hull momentarily before the array itself was destroyed. This makes the devices extremely useful in preventing the escape of corvettes and some of the spindly CIS designs (as such damage would destroy them) but also threatening larger ships with major hull breaches or systems damage.
Essentially, this is all easily circumvented by destroying the Tanglespace device or disabling it - but it's designed mostly to act as a deterrent and make time for local defense forces or the Imperial navy to intercept ne'er do wells.
The Hermes-class Communications Boosting Array
An array that boosts friendly communications within 10 AU, preventing jamming from anything less than 10 Capital ships.
Technical Specifications Length: 750m
Propulsion Unit(s): Small thrusters to adjust orbit or change position
Power Plant: Power cells charged by solar panels, backup hypermatter generator.
Shielding: 1000 SBD Armour: Durasteel Armament: Automated Point Defense Lasers (6) Sensors: Mass, Radar and Optical Complement: One small shuttle or tender Crew: Circa 10 Astromech droids in unmanned variant, manned variant has room for 24 Crew, 8 per shift in Comms Control Room. Consumables: 1 Month with hydrogen fusion generator, indefinite with solar panel variant.
The Nexu-class Strike Ship (Note heavy missiles to the right on the design)
Following the principles of the fighter, rather than the capital ship, this craft has incredibly spartan living space and devotes almost all the space onboard to its engines and powerful weapons array, with the ability to move with the agility of craft a third of it's size (such as the Skipray Blastboat or the larger YT-1300) it is designed for one purpose, to approach an enemy from hyperspace, hit him with a punishing volley and retreat before the enemy is able to marshal a response, the craft is vulnerable to fighters in extended engagements due to its shielding being weaker than you'd expect for its size. It's designed for hit and run raids or as the first wave of a larger attack.
Technical specifications Length: 75m Hyperdrive system: Class 2, Backup Class 10 Hull: Reinforced durasteel Shielding: Equivalent to a YT-2000 Engines: 75 MGLT Armament: Rapid Firing Turbolasers - Twice normal recharge rate (8, Front Facing), Super-Heavy Proton Torpedoes (2, Externally mounted, cannot reload in battle), Automated Rear Point Defense Laser (2), Large Chaff Deployment Cylinders (8) Crew: 48, 12 Gunners Consumables: Two Months Features: ECM - Makes missiles harder to lock on. Mass Buffered Hyperspace Engines: These engines and their safety settings are altered so that the vessel is able to jump in closer to large masses than other craft (approximately 20% closer) and also allowing it to jump to hyperspace at a closer distance - facilitating hit and run raids.
Super Heavy Proton Torpedo (Patents included)
Length: 5m Engines: Solid Fuel Range: 1 AU Speed: In a straight line theoretically up to 180MGLT, taking 10 seconds to reach full speed from launch at the 75 MGLT maximum speed of the launch platform above, slower ships or slower platforms equal a slower acceleration. Payload: Anti-Capital Ship: Proton Warhead with variable yield of 5-10 Proton Bombs in Strength Havoc: 4 Seismic Charges, the missile drops one every kilometer and then self destructs with the force of a proton torpedo. Armour: Reactive Duranium plating (Able to protect against one kinetic round or one quadlaser round on all angles but rear) Crew: Onboard course correction chip, able to perform basic evasive actions.
The Peregrine-class Fast Picket/Courier
A craft which gets small numbers of people, or small quantities of expensive cargo from A to be quickly and with the maximum protection possible while making speed the number one priority.
Technical specifications Length: 90m Hyperdrive system: Class 0.85, Backup Class 3 Hull: Light Durasteel Armour Shielding: Equivalent to a YT-1300 Engines: 70 MGLT Armament: Automated Pop-up Concealed Point Defense Laser (2, ventral and dorsal) Crew: 12 (Three watches, pilot, navigator, two techs per shift) organics, 8 Astromech Droids Consumables: Two weeks Features: Enhanced Communications Array (able to circumvent jamming by a single ship of Corvette class) (And the patents to this technology) Tractor Beam Countermeasure Array - Small Repulsor Beam with narrow focus, aims to push missiles away from the ship at less than a second to impact and cause them to detonate at a safe distance. (And the patents thereto), run by its independent AI. Diplomatic Suite - Room for up to 20 passengers, meeting rooms and resource libraries for diplomats or passengers to use, may be removed wholesale and the space used for cargo. ECM Suite: Projects a variety of hologramatic and false sensor readings to craft locking on to the ship, causing it to take longer to get missile lock on the Courier.
The Adventure-class Fast Interstellar Liner The Concorde of Star Wars.
Technical specifications Length: 200m Hyperdrive system: Class 1, Backup Class 20 Hull: Light Durasteel Armour Shielding: Equivalent to C-3 Passenger Liner Engines: 60 MGLT Armament: Two automated point defense ion cannons (popup, ventral and dorsal) Parasite craft: Small hold for up to four small sublight vessels. Crew: Passengers: 1st Class Stateroom Capacity: 20 2nd Class Cabin Capacity: 80 3rd Class Bunk Room Capacity: 200
Features Bar Various Lounges Active Holonet Connections Restaurant
Consumables: Fourteen days

| Quote (Schmuel_Kadram) Patents to Tractor Beam Deployed Gun Platform System seen on the Dictator-class Design
APPROVE.
Quote (Schmuel_Kadram) Patents to pairing a tractor beam with another weapon system in the same turret as mounted on the Rothana-class Destroyer
APPROVE, with acknowledgment of the vast expense and power requirements of this system.
Quote (Schmuel_Kadram) Patents to the Anti-Drone Slicing "Electronic Warfare Array" described on the Rothana-class Destroyer
I APPROVE of the patent and the technology itself, which I hadn't previously, with a caveat of extremely limited range.
Quote (Schmuel_Kadram) Patents to a Duranium Electroplated Armoured Prow, paired with additional hull reinforcement as seen on the Outer Rim Class.
I can't find this in the design.

I APPROVE of it with a rating of 80 SBD, not 300. Furthermore, neat idea.

Another neat idea. I APPROVE of it provided the number of military-grade capital vessels required to jam it is 6, rather than 10. Also, again, the SBD is too high; perhaps 200 SBD?

I APPROVE of this minus the seismic charges. With the strength of 4 proton bombs, there has to be some way to stop these missiles.

| Just a note, I was wondering if you could reconsider the SBD being "too high" - a Y-Wing (a well defended bomber) has a SBD of 80.
It's fine on the Tanglespace Array but on the Comms Station - it's a 750m long command and control station - perhaps we could compromise at 500? This'll make it around average for it's size rather than strong.
Re the Seismic charge payload - it's replacing the Proton Bomb warheads not in addition to them (not sure if it matters), more just intended to be dropped into minefields or asteroid fields for maximum effect, to cause a hole to open up or general chaotic whirling asteroid mess respectively. As seen in the films, the Seismic Charge is not difficult to avoid for fighters if they bug out (except in a dense dogfight) and they'd probably only be as effective as a turbolaser strike a piece against capships.

| The Y-wing, of course, is known for having stronger-than-average shields. A large gun emplacement, in comparison, is also 80 SBD. However, I do accept 500 SBD as a reasonable compromise. In fact, I'm amenable to 1,000 on further consideration (a Golan, for instance, is 3,800 SBD). I'd hope to see this reflected in the price Rothana charges for it, however.
To be clear, the seismic charges are meant to be deployed from the torpedo itself while in flight to its target, yes? The reference to "self-destruct" has thrown me somewhat.

| The seismic charges remain the only point of contention. If it's cleared up tonight, I'll plan to close up this request.

| Re the missile using seismic warheads. This is how it would work.
1. Missile fires and speeds toward target area. 2. When in the target area, explosive bolts disperse the seismic charges in the area around it. 3. The explosive bolts initiate a fuse in the missile which itself detonates the fuel onboard around a second later (usually with the blast equivalent to a normal proton torpedo), but the missile is unguided after it releases the charges so is not accurate as the guidance systems would be buggered by the explosions which release the charges. (so it'd be unlikely to actually be close enough to anything for the blast to cause harm to anyone)
It's a cluster munition pretty much.
