Dantooine Modernization Request

| Senators,
I come before you today to put in an official request of a vote to confirm the purchases of the following items:
4x DF.9 Anti-Infantry Battery
4x Bp.4 Anti-Vehicle Turret
4x FPC 6.7 Anti-Aircraft Turrets
And to be placed carefully around the planet in tactical locations
4x SPHA Concussion Missile Launchers
4x SPHA Turbolasers
Air-Space Corps
12x Armed T-16 Skyhoppers
4x Z-95 Headhunter
1x Gozanti Cruiser
1x Republic Medical Station - To be converted for use as an orbital customs facility and for storage of agricultural surplus.
It has been common knowledge that Dantooine does not have any sort of defense from the air, and I wish to change that. Yes we are a small farm planet on the Outer Rim, but no that little fact does not stop at the point that we are Imperial citizens and yes, that makes us more of a target. I hope you all will see it in your wisdom to vote in favor of this, that Dantooine be either granted the funds or the equipment itself, because when it comes to it, the Militia has been running with gum and string. And at the request of Militia General Eel, our boys cannot go on fighting crime with paper bullets. Defense has always been key, and I am attempting to do my best to ensure that Dantooine remain safe, while not going too crazy with the military hardware.

| Obviously not, Governor. Dantooine would be more then happy to purchase these items, being as how I'm sure most of these items are in surplus anyways.

| I'm not so sure converting a medical station into a storage would be the best course of action, Senator Ray.... What if something bad happens and you need to shuttle people to hospitals, and they are full? Perhaps you should request two Medical stations, one for storage, other for emergencies and what not.

| The Empire has a surplus for purchase of all items on this list, with the exception of T-16 Skyhoppers. The Defense Committee, however, will conduct a purchase of the requested amount, covering the difference between the purchase price and surplus price with excess funding. However, in exchange, the Defense Committee is asking, on behalf of the Imperial Military Oversight Commission, that Dantooine appropriate a plot of land to the Imperial Military Forces for the construction of a garrison facility.
