The Tammuz Sector Taxation Act

WHEREAS it is expedient that a revenue should be raised in the Emperor's dominions in the Tammuz Sector, for making a more certain and adequate provision for defraying the charge of the administration of justice, and the support of civil government, in such provinces where it shall be found necessary; and towards further defraying the expenses of defending, protecting, and securing, the said dominions; we, your the Emperor's most dutiful and loyal subject, the Moff of the Tammuz Sector, in Sector Economic Advisory Board assembled, have therefore resolved to give and grant unto the Imperial Sector Treasury the several rates and duties herein after mentioned.

An Income Tax, with the following bands.

A Basic Rate of 20% for the first 40,000 Credits earned
A Higher Rate of 40% for all credits earned over 40,001 Credits
An Additional Rate of 50% for all credits earned over 150,000 Credits

A Value-Added Tax of 15% on all transactions made by individuals (not acting in the course of a business) for supplies of goods and services. Essential products such as Food, Water and Non-Luxury Clothing Items shall be exempted.

An Excise duty shall be applied to non-domestic fuel, alcohol, legal spice products, gambling winnings, vehicles and weapons of 10% on each transaction made.

A 0.5% Stamp Duty shall be attached to the sale of property.

A 0.005% Tax on all currency or security transactions not involving an Individual or Government.

Religious houses being an obnoxious reminder of an Archaic past, they will be taxed as follows, these funds shall be transfered directly into the COMPNOR Budget.. A 60% tax on all donations to religious houses, A 60% charge on all income to a religious house from Internal sources (may this be labour, food, money etc). All charitable status shall be withdrawn from all religious institutions and they shall pay tax as any other business would.
