The Empire regrets that a case of mistaken identity led to the arrest, this afternoon, of Senator Bernard Oriel of Vjun. Acting on information that insurgents or former Separatists intended to use a human replica droid to impersonate an Imperial Senator and, potentially, to assassinate one or more Senators, Imperial Intelligence positioned troops and sensors at entrances to the Senate Rotunda as a precaution. Senator Oriel, it is now believed, passed through one of these sensors at the same moment as an E-3PO protocol droid. Unaware of this, a combined force of Imperial troops took Senator Oriel into custody. He was later released.
