A Blockade of Aeeq is simply the first of many options we could pursue in order to put pressure on Volus, if you wish to propose a blockade of Volus itself, it would be best to bring it up as a separate motion. A protest-blockade of Aeeq will send a very powerful message to Volus that its behaviour is not acceptable, and will cause its ally (Aeeq) to put pressure on Volus to back down over its many breaches of the law.

If in say, a weeks time, the Blockade of Aeeq has not had the desired effect, then by all means we should move directly to Volus and begin direct action protests.

And let your people suffer unknown indignities in a Volusian prison, after already being insulted by the Volusian courts? Senator Oriel, you are a far more patient man than I.

Representative, Monor II (10 BBY - 9 BBY)
Representative, Geridard
Representative, Boranall
Representative, Therenor Prime

I would not wish to be called in immoderate man, let us steadily crank up pressure rather than take an action which risks putting up the backs of the Volusians.

Fair enough. Incidentally, Senator, I took the liberty of informing Senator Domon of the rendezvous point. He expressed a powerful wish to join the Coalition's crusade and I feared that Senator Ordan's... issues... would prevent that. His forces will fall under my command until Sluis Van is fully ratified.

So far as I am aware there is nothing prohibiting you and Sluis Van operating as partners in this operation.

Nothing except Anaxes' exquisite dislike of Sluis Van's representation. As I mentioned, Sky Marshal Rolf is only in charge until Sluis Van is fully ratified. I simply wanted to prevent any issues from cropping up, should they have arisen.

Volus has rebuffed a generous eleventh hour peace request by our Ambassador to the Region. As soon as all forces have converged at Aeeq, and Senator Cambrist makes his announcement, then we will be ready to go ahead and launch the protest.

It would appear that Volus has conceded to the Coalition's demands after all, and that this concession is not only a momentary one but one that appears to now be reflected in Volusian trade policy. I am thus inclined to agree with Senator Ryuun that there is no need, now, for the blockade to continue. Congratulations are in order for us all, commissioners, especially you, Senator Oriel. I congratulate you in particular on the safe return of your world's crew, cargo, and freighter. On an unrelated note, however, Brentaal is concerned with the large number of new members of the Coalition. This was, after all, meant to be a Coalition that would be representative of the leverage that Core Worlds do, in fact, have over provincial planets. I fear that with planets like Sluis Van and Dantooine now potentially joining, the system could be abused and leverage furnished to the provincials. Would it not be unreasonable, thus, to require a vote of this commission to approve new members? I do not wish to see the balance of power upset in a way that may necessitate Brentaal withdraw from the Coalition.
