Mon Mothma committed no crime. She spoke the words of her people and was silenced because the Empire didn't like what she, or they, had to say. But some things need to be said, Senator, and there is nothing quite so tragic as when the pleas of a people for social and economic justice fall upon deaf ears—especially when the ears that are deaf to them are those of the person they elected to listen to them. I didn't know Mon Mothma personally, but it seems apparent to me that her conscience wouldn't permit her to say anything less than what the people of Chandrila sent her to Coruscant to say.

I took an oath to represent my constituency to the best of my ability, and to me that means representing Ralltiir as it is, not as I want it to be and not as the Empire wants it to be. I will not be a quisling. I do understand the difficult position you are in, Senator, and your desire to prevent the Empire from once again trespassing on the people and politics of Chandrila. However, I am of the firm belief that the only way to prevent these trespasses is to raise my voice against them everytime and everywhere they occur, including Chandrila, in the hope (perhaps a naïve hope) that others will join me in doing so. There is strength in numbers, Senator.

However, I will respect your wishes and try to remain silent about Chandrila. As I said, I understand your position and I wouldn't presume to tell you how to do your job. I'm certain that you are a good person and that you are doing what you believe is best for your world. I also thank you for your kind words and your support in the Senate.
