Kuriyoshi Estate
Chandaar
Cronese Mandate

To: The most Esteemed Governor Johannes Oswaldt
Senator, Eriadu
From: Lord Zarcaine Kuriyoshi
Senator of the Cronese Mandate

Subject: Capital Ship Act II

Encryption: Beta Gold

It would appear that Senator Oriel has once more introduced a new Capital Vessel Act. While I was not around during the introduction of the first Act, I was able to find, through reading it, that you hand not been able to vote on it. I request that you show your iron resolve once more for this new act. While Senator Oriel has claimed that this new Act would not create any red tape, it is clear for anyone whom reads through it, that it would do nothing more than create red tape and bind the hands of the Empire in the corrupt bureaucracy that so strongly rooted itself in the defunct Old Republic.

I would also be most appreciative if you were to vote for a Repeal Bill that I intend to introduce to the Senate that would repeal both Vessel Acts all together and cut away all of the red tape that Senator Oriel is introducing to the Imperial Senate. I know we have had out differences in the past, yet I believe that we can work together to see that the bureaucracy of the Corrupt Republic is not introduced to our fine Empire.

I don't support an absence of any regulations at all on the ownership of capital ships. But I've had concerns about the original bill and I have concerns about this one too. What I don't want to see is a situation where Eriadu's shipbuilding industry suffers from an artificially decreased demand because measures like this one have eliminated much of the utility of capital ships. And I don't want to see Eriadu lose its ability to project power along the Rimma trade route. I won't vote for a bill that does both or either of these things. Whether or not this bill does, I don't know.. I need to look into it. But in the meantime I'll make promises to no man about how I will or won't vote.

Johannes Oswaldt
Senator and Governor of Eriadu
