I apologize for how long it has been since we personally have spoken since our meeting of several months ago. I have, unfortunately, been extremely busy, as you've probably noticed in the Senate. I would like to take up your offer of lunch, or dinner should it work better for you, today, so that we may continue our talks in regards to the Defense Committee granting self-defense rights back to Chandrila and working with your government to re-form your defense fleet. It will be good to see you again.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive your note this afternoon. I am extremely thrilled to hear from you, and I hope that all is well with you. Of course, I know that you are a very busy man. My issue is of little concern next to the storm that you are currently having to deal with.
It pains me to see that you are having to defend yourself so feverently. Everyone, including heads of committees, deals with illness and other issues as you have. It is sad that there seems to be a lack of compassion in the Senate these days. I hope that it is alright that I jumped to your defense, and that I did not embarrass you with my words. I will continue to do so as needed because despite what some say, I trust and believe in you.
As for the defense of Chandrila, I am concerned that there will be no convincing the Empire to stop punishing us for what happened in the past. Unless you think there is a way of convincing them otherwise. I understand that my planet and people are under the protection of the Empire, but you know my concerns in regards to that.
Please do let me know when you would like to get together. I am currently in the Cronese Mandate right now, but I will be back on Chandrila soon.
