I can see you're an enthusiastic Defense Legislator. As Chair of the Defense Committee this is something I'd like to encourage, too few Senators are serious about pressing forward with useful reforms for the Empire.
As such I'd like to appoint you to be an Observer of the Senate Defense Committee, you'd not have a vote, but would have the right to request to address the Committee, and would gain a huge volume of experience through sitting in on our deliberations. After some time, I don't see why we couldn't work together on some legislation to strengthen the Empire we both live in and love.
