I am Hieronymus Kuat of Kuat, a starship designer of some repute and a recent director of research and design for Kuat Drive Yards. I'd forgive a man from Druckenwell for being ignorant of who I am, but you know my work—for instance, the Arquitens-class cruisers that Druckenwell employs in its fleet. Senator Ryuun, I will come to the point; KDY's insatiable profit motive has caused it to sacrifice quality—a sacrifice to the almighty Imperial contract. Due to creative differences with KDY's director of research and design, I have left the company and I'm seeking employment elsewhere.
I'm tired of Core politics, Senator, and to be honest with you, I want to bring my talent to a shipyard no one has heard of. I want to work for Druckenwell, Senator. It is said you are a respected and influential man on your world, and I ask that you facilitate this for me. It is in your interest as well as mine—Druckenwell's shipyard can be a far more prolific and profitable operation than it is now. I can make that happen, and it would benefit not only from my engineering and business acumen but from my reputation as well.

Much appreciated. I desire a position as Projects Manager, or the Druckenwell equivalent thereof. I have a number of construction-ready designs prepared, pending some revisions to accommodate new suppliers, etc. To this end, I require the sole authority to negotiate and contract with third-party suppliers to provide us with certain technologies (engine modules, for instance, docking rings, avionics systems, etc.). I require this because I can no longer permit my designs to be compromised with low-quality parts from KDY's multifarious network of sycophantic suppliers.
I must be candid with you, Senator: I'll also require an increase in funding for Druckenwell's shipyard (in particular, the Project Manager's budget) of at least 110%. There has been significant under-investment in this industry, and one must spend money to make money. To this end, I'll also need the sole authority to spend these funds (with a regular accounting of expenses available for your government to review, of course).
Give me this, Senator, and I'll recoup it all by the end of the fiscal year, and then some, and earn Druckenwell respect as one of the up-and-coming premier shipwrights of the galaxy.

I have conferred with the present Projects Manager of Druckenwell Shipyards and he is willing to assume a co-position with you, although you'll have the lead role. He's quite interested to see what you can procure. It should help you to know that Druckenwell Shipyards does provide its own technologies in-house, but only to a certain extent. While you have authority to contract third-party suppliers, I'd ask that a list be compiled monthly for review.
I can grant you the funds for the shipyard as well. Druckenwell's profits have been far greater than projected this last fiscal year and with our defense budget having been leveled out for the time, the excess funds can go towards the shipyard, as well as a number of other sources necessary.
You have my go-ahead on this, Mr. Kuat.
