Mr. Stark,

I am Hieronymus Kuat of Kuat, a recent director of research and design for Kuat Drive Yards and current Projects Manager for Druckenwell Shipyards. I mean to waste no time, Mr. Stark, neither Druckenwell's, yours, nor least of all my own. So to come swiftly to the point, I'm in need of a new supplier of capital-grade ion engines, and I'm determined not to reward a Core-based company with a single credit of Druckenwell's money—genius needn't flourish only in the Core, as its partisans would have us believe. I mean to prove this, but I must know if Lorrd Engineering is capable of meeting a contract for 100 or more of its ion engines in a short period of time. I pose this question to you, as Lorrd Engineering's majority shareholder, with the expectation we can discuss it informally before any formal transaction is made.

I also have an unrelated proposition for you, Mr. Stark. The Wandrau Arms Corporation is a small producer of space-based weapons systems. It hasn't turned a profit for a decade, and rumor is it's looking to sell. I want to buy it, but I'd prefer to go in with someone else to match my investment. Would you be interested in this, Mr. Stark? I would require a majority share in the company, but I'll agree to grant you right-of-first-refusal so that I can sell my shares to no one but you. I don't expect to have use of the company for long, but during that time I'm confident it can turn a considerable profit.

Regards,
HIERONYMUS KUAT

Mr. Kuat,

Your request comes at an interesting time for Lorrd Engineering. A recent and highly developmental powerplant created by Vigilance Technologies' engineering department is soon to make a debut. Lorrd Engineering, as such, finds itself with a surplus of ion engines and so I would be willing to sell you ion engines in large quantity.

When it comes to Wandrau Arms Corporation, I am slightly hesitant. Stark Defense Conglomerate, while still interested in acquiring arms corporations, is moving slowly into the medical field, backing charities and in general, conducting a good public relations campaign so those who accuse me of being solely a 'merchant of death' can be quieted down. I'm sure you understand the difference between self-defense and simply selling arms, but not all of the galaxy is willing to make that distinction.

If I enter into this project, seeing as how Wandrau Arms hasn't made much of a profit, I am curious on two points: first, how long a length of time would you require the company for before selling your shares to myself. I assume that with you being the primary shareholder, I would be the secondary, with full rights and knowledge at what is being conducted. Secondly, while you would be the primary owner, I would wish to be granted access to Wandrau Arms' current platform technology to see if it could be improved upon.

Mr. Stark,

The supposedly intelligent beings of this galaxy have been slaughtering one another for as long as it's occurred to anyone to write about it. Longer, in fact. There have been peaceful species throughout history, the Caamasi for instance—look what happened to them. The idea that you or I are to blame for war because we provide the utensils of war is absurd. People like us come and go, but war is forever. Don't let this criticism of you as a "merchant of death" trouble you unduly (especially since you are but a temporary Senator, and these criticisms of you won't last any longer than your tenure in that depraved arena).

To answer your questions, I'll have use for Wandrau Arms for no more than 8 to 12 months. Second, proprietorship of Wandrau's technologies isn't something I intend to deal with extensively. However, once my shares have reverted to you, naturally you'd be able to do with the company (and its properties) as you please. And yes, in the meantime you would have knowledge of what's in development at Wandrau, the company's expenses, etc.

Wandrau has a number of decent products and it sells them widely. The non-profitability of the company, in my estimation, is simply a matter of overhead that can be easily corrected (especially if we can bring in new investors as a result of our combined reputations).

With regard to Lorrd Engineering's surplus of ion engines, I'm pleased to hear this. I will require a demonstration, however. I need a demonstration of the performance of the engine and its power usage in a live combat situation. When can this be arranged?

Regards,
HIERONYMUS KUAT

Mr. Kuat,

You've piqued my interest, and I would rather like to get my hands on Wandrau Arms' defensive platforms for some of my R&D teams. I'm willing to go into this venture with you, Mr. Kuat, but not under the full funding of SDC. Wandrau Arms will be kept, naturally, separate from SDC's stock and sales until the company reverts fully to me.

As for the ion engines, it all depends. What would you like to see the engines mounted on and in regards to a live combat situation... how live would you like it to be? Anything can be arranged rather swiftly, if one knows the proper channels.

Mr. Stark,

Indeed, I'd recommend investing in Wandrau personally for the time being. I also intend to do so with my funds only. With regard to the demonstration, I'd like to see your capital-grade engines in use on a capital-grade vessel preferably against one or more other capital-grade vessels. As for how "live"? Live. I would also need to be onboard at the time and have access to a diagnostics console, of course. Beyond this, I leave the particulars up to you.

Regards,
HIERONYMUS KUAT

Mr. Kuat,

As long as you're willing to put your life and limb safely in my hands, I'm sure I can arrange a demonstration prior to my departure for Imperial Center. Call it a little outing, if you like. I can assure you the liveliest of tests. It should prove quite amusing for you, if nothing else, and you'll be able to see both capitol and snubfighter-class engines at their utmost peak.

Mr. Stark,

Excellent. And be assured there's no risk I'm not willing to take for the integrity of my work.

I'll have my droids talk to your droids.
