Sirs of the Senate Ethics Committee,

It has come to my attention that my Vice-Chairman, Senator Lomen Ryuun may have contravened good ethics in the form of acts amounting to blackmail on the floor of the Imperial Senate. For this matter I will presently issue a suspension from the Senate Ethics Committee pending your Committee's examination.

I realize Senator Lomen Ryuun has expressed a statement that he did not intend to commit any act of Blackmail or breach of Ethics, however, I wish to run a Committee beholden to the most stringent and wide ranging ethical standards, and thus am referring this matter as a test case.

I wish to question on principle, if it is Ethical for Committee members (and indeed, Officers) attempting to use motions against the Chair of a Committee to leverage change within that Committee; furthermore if such a breach has occurred in this situation (and if there was a breach of Ethics if it should be considered malicious).

Based on this ruling the Defense Committee will review the future of Senator and Vice-Chairman Lomen Ryuun within the Defense Committee.

A wider ethical scrutiny would be appreciated on the Senator if it is felt appropriate.

Yours Sincerely.

Bernard Oriel
Senator for the Planet of Vjun
1st Earl Malreaux (Second Creation)
Vjun Delegation to the Imperial Senate
