| Lieutenant Gemmell,
As a matter of fact, Paul, yes. Imperial Intelligence has become aware of a credible threat to the life of Alyn and Ana Stark, the namesake of the Stark Defense Conglomerate and his wife. There is reason to believe an assassination attempt may be imminent, and could be connected to a shadowy organization of assassins-for-hire. Intelligence hasn't had much success in learning about this organization, but this, finally, is a chance to do so.
We're dispatching you to the planet Lorrd, where you are to present yourself to the planet's Senator, Roman Lekpin, and inform him of your mission. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to stay close to Alyn Stark and to prevent and investigate if possible any attempts on his life. We expect Senator Lekpin, a friend of Mr. Stark, can explain to him the necessity of your presence and secure his cooperation.
Any questions, Paul?
Yeorg Olsen Deputy Director (and Auditor General) of Imperial Intelligence Chief of the Bureau of Operations

| Will do Sir!
I'm looking forward to going back to Lorrd, that body language thing they have I spent some time learning about last time and am able to read. I'll take the next ship going that direction.
I played this for you Deputy Director. I hope you enjoy the delicate cadence of my Lute as it plucks with thoughts of our sublime Emperor on my mind.Added (21 Feb 2013, 10:24 PM) --------------------------------------------- Director Olsen,
I was in the meeting with Representative Lekpin this afternoon, and was distressed by the following statement which I've recovered from my Protocol Droid's memory for transmission to you.
Quote (Roman_Lekpin) Providing this isn't an actual Imperial investigation into someone on Lorrd, though, I will do what I can to assist you in your endeavor.
Frankly sir, I am concerned about the fact that the Lorrdian Government seem unwilling to be cooperative with a formal investigation (by the statement made). Aside from this Representative Lekpin was polite and provided myself free transportation to Lord Stark's location, to where I am en-route as we speak.
Furthermore, may I request a clarification of orders?
Representative Lekpin also expressed that he believes Lord Stark will not consent to my being posted to protect him and his wife at but a short remove. With this being the case. Should the Starks refuse my protection, what position will be taken then? That my protection and posting to himself is non-negotiable or simply to retire politely?
While aboard Mr Stark's vessels and around Mr Stark, would it be inappropriate (while scanning for minute weapons that might threaten him) collect and store the data on the surrounding area?
May I speak freely for a moment sir?
Paul Gemmell Lieutenant, IntCon, Internal Organization Bureau, Imperial Intelligence Poet Player of Lutes

| Lieutenant Gemmell,
You may speak freely, Paul.
Though I doubt Senator Lekpin would obstruct an Imperial investigation. Since there is no Imperial investigation at this time, and whether or not the Senator would obstruct such an investigation is conjectural, and moreover he seems to be cooperating with you, however reluctantly, it doesn't trouble us unduly. A good observation, though.
You may inform Mr. Stark if necessary that your orders are orders and you've been advised that you're not at liberty to withdraw. Remember that more than Mr. Stark's safety alone is concerned here: this is also an opportunity for us to learn more about the organization behind the assassination attempt, should it occur. I'm sure he'll cooperate, though. He may be the son of Iaco Stark, but he protests that he's as pro-Imperial as they come.
By all means, do scan for any potential threats to Mr. Stark.
Now then, what was it you had to say?
Yeorg Olsen Deputy Director (and Auditor General) of Imperial Intelligence Chief of the Bureau of Operations

| Sir,
The Stark residence is a strange and gloomy one, filled with ominously masked troopers armed with lethal arms and an inner "Cabal" who apparently are some sort of vestige of Lord Stark's personal guard, all armed to the teeth including a Mandalorian carrying an E-Web blaster and a Noghri assassin with some dangerous looking blades among other weapons.
These guards appear to owe something to the bdsm community in the design of their rather strange looking uniforms and armed with the popular assassin's weapon in the form of a Verpine Shatter Gun. Frankly I have no confidence that any one of these masked figures might not be a potential assassin.
I'm bringing in several teams of specialists to aid with the investigation being undertaken by Mr Stave so that he can thoroughly investigate the other matter regarding . In the meantime I plan to order the Castle's garrison disarmed and returned to barracks and replaced with professionals from the ISB (as a stopgap measure until Imperial Army forces arrive).
I've ordered a no-fly zone to be put in place by the Lorrdians over the area about the castle, just so we can guarantee no sneaking away. I also plan to have ISB roadblocks placed around the land routes in and out. I've had comms traffic tapped as a precaution.
Frankly, the death of Alyn Stark demonstrates that there is a very real and present threat to his wife. With assassination being the standard model for dynastic succession on Lorrd (case files note several coincidental deaths occurred to allow Lord Stark to gain his position). I firmly believe that the current model of security in Castle Stark is a system which is innately flawed by relying upon killers to protect from killers.
Equally, I must admit that I personally am not comfortable that I might not become a convenient target if I become inexpedient to Stark's inner cabal, as such I believe in order to assure the safety of Mrs Stark, and all other Imperial Personnel and assets it is only reasonable to have the security force for the castle replaced for the duration of the investigation.
I will remain close to Mrs Stark and provide personal close protection services, I've also ordered a squad of Stormtroopers to guard her chambers, I'll also be placing various mechanical security devices to log any uninvestigated movement. I've seconded the two droids in my attache to the investigation ongoing by the special investigator present, as their skills in communicating with other mechanical systems are second to none.
I'm sad I was unable to arrive in time to protect Alyn Stark (and indeed advise him against a foolhardy venture to Trandosha), but I am determined to take all measures that will ensure the continuing safety of Mrs Stark and facilitate a safe environment from which Intelligence agents are able to go about their duties.

| Lieutenant,
Oh my stars. Why would anyone accoutre themselves in so ghastly a fashion? How absolutely macabre. Even the fairly skeletal appearance of His Majesty's stormtroopers is meant simply to command the awe and respect of the people, not to frighten people as is surely intent of this style of dress (even if it does also induce laughter from those of us who aren't subject to these sepulchral goons).
But as interesting as it might be to find out what other secrets and proclivities that Castle Stark may hold, I don't see it as the Empire's concern. Neither is dynastic succession on Lorrd, and frankly, neither is Ana Stark. With her husband dead, she is a non-entity and her personal security is not of any interest to us. It's almost certain that Stark's death was unrelated to the plot to assassinate him, and now that he's dead we've obviously lost our lead into the network of assassins behind the original plot. This is unfortunate, but it's the only unfortunate thing about Mr. Stark's death as far as I'm concerned. What happens now to Stark's wife might matter to someone or might not—either way, it doesn't matter to us.
No further resources will be deployed to Castle Stark, and I recommend you return to Imperial Center. Perhaps you should ask Mrs. Stark is she actually trusts this ghoulish cirque du macabre to keep her safe. If she does, then so be it; there'd be no reason for you to remain there. She's Lorrd's responsibility.
As for this "Mr. Stave," I have no knowledge of what he's doing there or why. Having (once again) not been briefed about what the Stenax the Inquisitorius is up to, I'm not inclined to assist Mr. Stave in any way, shape, or form unless or until our assistance is requested, and requested humbly at that. To the Corellian hells with him.

| Deputy Director,
I'd like to thank you for permission to leave this menagerie. I will convey the message to Mrs Stark and request she returns to Imperial Center for her own safety and then make my leave of this place posthate.
Sincerely,
