He was taken aback for a second. He had misjudged the dynamic of the group at a casual glance.

Now he was presented with an interesting question.

Does he intervene for a stranger? Does he walk away? At first thought he didn't think he knew enough to get involved. He didn't have his weapon.

Decisions. Decisions.

"Nothing to see? I didn't think the Empire was in the business of harming women."

The Inquisitor had spotted a sentient being speaking with the stormtrooper that were supposedly roughing Mira up little bit. Perhaps the being is a Jedi, or simply a Force user. He wasn't going to be sure just yet because it was hard to detect a Force signature with so many sentient beings on the Imperial Center. The only way to find out is to see if the man would be using Force powers to "help" Mira. Inquisitor Animus would slowly sneak closer and closer with the dark cloak and hood covering himself for the most part. He would also be able to gather some information by seeing how the man react, and another way to do that is to reveal himself in some way.

The dark jedi continued to walk slowly, getting closer and closer. He'd casually draw out the lightsaber from the belt, but didn't activate it just yet. If this being could detect a strong dark aura nearby, that would probably change the man's behavior. Inquisitor Animus had decided to take a risk by letting his dark aura radiating, it had served him well in the past and he was hoping it would work this time around. The dark jedi would know whether the man was indeed a Force user or not. As of now, he simply moved closer and closer really slowly. He was in his hunting mode, watching every move.

"It's our business." The stormtrooper snapped. Mira yanked her arm from his grasp again, only to lose her balance and crash to the permacrete at their feet. It was not a good situation, so it seemed. She was pulled back to her feet rather harshly and one of the other stormtroopers held onto her.

Mira made sure that her gaze met with that of the man who had approached, and she hoped that this would at least be over soon. "I really....I didn't do anything...." she murmured again, not that it made a difference to any of them. They were, after all, just following orders.

And so now he knew the manner of the beast that was out this evening. It didn't even take him reaching out with the kalak to know that someone sensitive to it..and evil was near by. But his teaching kept him from visibly responding to it, he knew the current climate in the New Order, and looking around now would make him appear suspiciously like one of the 'Jedi' that were hunted down and killed by the Empire. But now knowing the manner of the beast out gave him the advantage, and so now he considered his new options.

There was a squad of stormtroopers there. Someone, was it the mythical Vader that everyone whispered about, was also out there. He couldn't believe that someone with a reputation like Vader's would be so callous with their presence, but then again perhaps he would be.

Tes'dra was unarmed in a sense - he didn't have his lightsaber, and he wasn't carrying a side arm. Outnumbered, out gunned and under the watchful eye of someone that was sure to come after him if he used any of his other talents to help this woman.

"I am sorry for this." He said quietly to the woman as she caught his gaze, his youthful impulse and desire to help her outweighed by the lop sided nature of the situation.

"What is your name? I'll be making a complaint with my Father, the General, about this treatment of Imperial women."

This he said as he turned his gaze to the stormtrooper that appeared to be the leader. A lie, but what difference would the Stormtroopers know?

The Inquisitor would continue to watch the man standing by and talking with the stormtrooper leader. He began to snarl quietly, feeling the urge to jump over and stab the man in the chest from the behind. However, he knew he couldn't very well do that if this being wasn't actually a Force sensitive. Well, he could, but it would give his position off for the supposedly Jedi that would be somewhere inside the Underlevels. He'd stare at Mira, giving her the clue that he wasn't pleased with how she had performed so far. Mira was good, but in order to lure the man into the trap, she'd have to do even better. Sometimes being good doesn't cut it, and it requires more efforts in order to complete his objectives. "Come on, Naeva." He snarled quietly once again.

The stormtrooper just watched the man. "Go ahead. It doesn't bother us any. We're following orders." He responded. Mira struggled again and the stormtrooper turned and swiftly plunged the hilt of his blaster rifle into her stomach. There was a sickening crack of breaking ribs, and Mira doubled over, though one of the squad was supporting and keeping her from falling on the hard ground.

She tried to draw in a breath, but it was painfully hard, surprisingly. This was not faked at all, obviously. Mira finally brought her gaze up to the man again, though she had her arm wrapped tightly around her own torso, as the pressure lessened the pain.

"Please...." She pleaded with him, though she was immediately silenced when another of the stormtroopers trained his blaster rifle directly at the side of her head and the unmistakable squealed whirr of it powering up could be heard. Instinctively, she winced and just waited for it.

His first instinct was to hurl the Stormtroopers back against the side of the closest building with all of the kalak might he could muster, but as his Mother and Father had taught him as a child - such an attack wasn't selective, it would also hurl the already injured woman - collateral damage that wasn't acceptable to him. The whirring of the blaster rifle irritated him, rushing his thoughts and his decision making process as he was making a rather poignant decision.

Does he risk revealing himself as kalak gifted for the sake of a woman he doesn't know? Or does he watch this Imperial slug shoot her in the head in front of him?

But who else was watching? That was the second question Tes'dra considered in the intangible moment of the blaster rifle whirring to full power. And then he acted.

With reflexes that to the trained eye would reveal him to be more than he appeared, he struck out with with his left arm for the barrel of the Stormtrooper's blaster rifle - intent on striking it backwards as his right hand shot out, fingers out and palm open as he would reach to grab the fabric of Mira's shirt and yank her towards him and down, not the most comfortable way for him to throw her on the ground beneath him but until he could come up with a better way to remove them from the situation.

As his left hand went to strike the Stormtrooper's rifle - his fingers would close and he attempted to grab it and yank it back in a reverse of his initial motion - intent either yanking the weapon away from the Stormtrooper when he let go of it, or pulling the Stormtrooper with him and off balance - and right into a good position to function as a human shield should the rest of his squad simply open fire.

To Animus watching, Tes'dra's reflexes would appear simply too fast to be a mere human, or he had to be force sensitive. To the non sensitive Stormtroopers and Mira - he would simply be exponentially faster than they were.

The Inquisitor grinned evilly, witnessing the sentient being moving so fast. He was moving too fast for the stormtroopers to be able to react. That was the moment he knew the man was force sensitive. However, is he a Jedi? That's entirely another matter. One thing remains, the man was an enemy of the Empire. He was sure of that, or else he wouldn't be attacking the stormtroopers. The dark jedi had allowed the Force to build up inside him for a few moments, as the man were trying to save the supposedly innocent woman.

Inquisitor Animus would build up enough Force to propel himself into the air, leaping in the air which was pretty high. On the way toward the ground, the dark jedi would activate the lightsaber that was already in his right hand. The red glow had came to life, the very color that would instill fear into millions of sentient beings. He had finally landed on the ground, and bent his knees little bit. In addition to that, his left hand went over to grip the lightsaber to go along with the already gripped right hand. He was standing about eight feet away and in front of the man. Then he began to cackle evilly, his figure was mostly dark and difficult for the Force user to see. However, the man would be able to see the yellowness within his eyes.

"Fool, you've fell for my trap like several Jedi weaklings have done in the past." The tone was eerie at most, and he began to take the seriousness up a notch. "In the name of His Majesty, the Empire has decreed you guilty of treason. If you surrender now, we will show mercy. If you do not, then you will die a traitor!" The dark jedi had put himself into a defensive stance, preparing to defend himself should the Force user decide to fight to the bitter end.

Please work, please work, please work. Mira thought to herself as she watched the man. Her lower ribs hurt exponentially more than she had expected, but it appeared that the ruse was, in fact, working. Besides, it was nothing that couldn't be fixed, they were just ribs, after all.

When he grasped onto her top and pulled her towards him, she looked into his eyes for one brief moment before she was on the ground. That had hurt, and the woman winced and gasped momentarily to draw in a breath within her bruised and broken ribcage. It was then that she heard Animus' voice and she looked up and then squirmed herself out of the way.

Idly, Mira wrapped her arm around her ribcage once again and held tight, which helped with the pain and eased her ability to breathe.

Eight years prior

"If you draw your weapon Tes'ika.." His mother always called him that. His given name was Tes'dra, but the 'ika at the end implied "my darling" in their language. His father called him that to irritate him, and that was who said it now.

"You must be ready to kill. It is not something that you do lightly or frequently, my son. When you leave our skies, the safety of our world - you must remember this." His father paused then, waiting to see if the boy had a response, something to say, or perhaps a question to ask.

"I understand, Father." The dark haired boy said solemnly."

"Do you remember your uncle, Sytess? His son Alexi?"

"Yes Father."

"Do you remember when you stole his tunic, and he yelled and shoved you instead of hitting you?"

The boy smirked. He'd ended up punching his cousin that day.

"Yes Father."

"If you draw your weapon, my son, let it do the talking."

Present day

Trap.

The word. The way the woman squirmed away but didn't run. If Tes'dra were a bit more naive, he'd think she was simply afraid the Imperials would gun her down from behind if she fled. But no, the lightsaber wielding figure in the shadows seemed too sure for it be that. No, he had been played.

It had been dishonorable on the womans part, but to look at the woman and convey that would perhaps cost him a precious moment that he might not have against this new threat. He had the stormtrooper's blaster rifle in his hands now.

He'd consider the irony of being called a traitor to an Empire of which he wasn't a citizen later.

The action amplified by the Force, Tes'dra leapt. Away from Animus and above anyone that might be in the way, he landed in the nearest building through an open window and as soon as his feet hit the floor he was moving through it to flee the scene, the blaster rifle in his hands clearing his path by its mere presence.

The meal had gone on much longer than Kenas expected. It was a great change of pace to sit and chat with a good friend. For weeks he had been on the run, ever since the bombing. Now, he sensed his enemies were closer than ever before. There were too many disturbances at this point. He couldn’t delay much longer. It was time to leave Imperial Center.

Although probably in imminent danger, Alhan and Kenas acted calmly and quickly to remove any traces of their presence. Once the apartment was cleaned, they parted ways in the corridor. Alhan had given Kenas everything he would need to contact the senator from Commenor, whom was already inserted into the underlevels.

“Thank you for everything,” Kenas said. “And take care of yourself.”

Alhan grinned and patted Kenas on his shoulder. “You stay safe out there. Don’t worry about me in the slightest. Coruscant is my home.”

“Imperial Center,” Kenas said.

“Hah! If we live long enough,” Alhan said, now walking down the corridor in the opposite direction. “We’ll see 'Imperial Center' called Coruscant once again. If we make it that long.” With that, Alhan threw his hand up in farewell.

Kenas watched him until he vanished into the darkness beyond. He thought about the fall of the Empire and Coruscant being Coruscant again. That future was probably far off and so it wasn’t really worth thinking about now. Now was the time to focus on the matter at hand. As he started down the hall to the turbolifts, he could faintly hear screaming in the distance. “He’s got a gun” was one of such screams.

There came another disturbance in the Force, impending danger. His first instinct was to head down the other direction before whatever trouble was heading his way arrived. It was too late though. Through the dimly lit corridor, he could first see someone hugging the wall and then a man moving at top speed. He had a weapon in his hands, an E-11 blaster rifle, Kenas recognized. The man hadn’t gunned down the others in the hall so it was a good bet he wouldn’t shoot Kenas either. Didn't mean it wouldn't though if Kenas held his ground. Like the others, Kenas sidestepped to his left and pressed against the wall till the man passed or used the turbolift.

While he waited to see what would happen, Kenas pondered why this man was running, why did he have a standard issue blaster rifle for the stormtrooper corps, and why did he feel the disturbances in the Force had to do, in some part, with the man running at him now?

Good judgement comes from bad experience, a lot of that comes from bad judgement.

Inquisitor would notice the man making a run, he shook his head little bit. "So you want to do this the hard way?" The dark jedi whispered to himself, as he decided to go after the Force user but not before he ordered Mira to do something. "Have every hangar bay on the planet locked down! We must not allow him to escape." He'd use the Force to leap into the very same window the man had went in a moment ago. The Inquisitor had figured that this man might not be a Jedi at all, but nonetheless, he has Force sensitivity. That could be used to serve the Emperor, and it couldn't hurt to get more Inquisitors. The next thing Animus did was to use the Force to aid in his speed, attempting to catch up with the man before he gets to the lift or finds any other way to escape from his clutch.

The red glow of his lightsaber would probably frighten the bystanders that were trying to get out of his way as well, probably even more than the man ahead of him. Pretty soon, Kenas would probably hear another set of screams.

Had the man given her any sort of look, Mira wouldn't have noticed or cared. She was, as it were, to do anything that it took to lure out the force users. Not that it mattered to anyone, but at least she didn't actually hurt any innocent people, only herself. There were limits to what she would do, though there were not many of them. When he started to run, one of the storm troopers moved over to help her off of the ground. It was a painful experience, but she reminded herself that it had been worth it, if nothing else. She had done her part, and the rest was up to Animus.

Mira glanced to Animus as he took the moment to shout orders to her and her response was no more than a simple nod before she dug her commlink out of her pocket and dialed.

"This is Agent Naeva. I need you to ground all flights off planet and lock down all hanger bays. No one leaves this planet. There is a dangerous and armed force user loose in the underlevels." She said into the commlink, with a confirmed reply a moment later. "A squad is in persuit." She added before she clicked the device off and handed it to one of the clones.

Taking the time to give an order to the intelligence agent - Tes'dra was through the window, on the floor of the building and moving down the hallway. His path cleared and he took little note of those around him. He kept the blaster rifle for now, holding it with both hands and pumping the butt and the barrel of it back and forth in a rhythmic fashion as he ran down the hall with confused and frightened bystanders on either side at times. A turbo-lift was at the end of the hall, which also went both left and right. He made a sharp turn to the left even as he heard Animus running after him from behind.

Now wasn't the time to check and see just how much of a lead he had. After the left turn he made another immediate left, out another window and onto an adjacent street, still running as fast as he could, adrenaline and the force amplifying his speed.
