A Belbullab-22 starfighter would emerge out of hyperspace, seeing the polluted view of the Imperial Center straight ahead. There was a heavy traffic ahead, waiting to be allowed to pass. Luckily for the fighter, it didn't have to wait. The codes were being sent to Imperial Center docking authorities, and the codes would indicate that the person inside the fighter was someone of high importance. A moment later, a voice appeared on the radiotransmitter. "The Dark Force, you may pass." The person inside the cockpit didn't respond, instead he just pushed the flight control and increased the speed from a standpoint. The Dark Force made its way toward the atmosphere, reducing the speed so that there won't be enough pressure to create heat onto the blastboat. The ship could have gone to Westport or Eastport and landed there. Instead of doing that, the ship had descended upon the hangar bay of Newport. Yes, it was a docking bay that went out of business sometime before the Clone Wars and nobody ever bothered to either land there or snoop around. There was a reason for this, obviously.

The engines were revved down, and a man climbed out of the cockpit. He leaped from the fighter and onto the ground, landing on a knee. The man would slowly get up off the ground, looking around and entertaining the view of the abandoned Newport for a moment. The man was wearing black robes, with a dark cloak and hood covering every part of himself. Thus, because of this, only his face could be revealed. If there was anyone that managed to catch his eyes sometimes during his visit on the Imperial Center, it was sickening yellow with a bit of redness. There was a lightsaber attached to his belt, although it is hidden away inside the cloak. Yes, this indicates that he was an Inquisitor and that he was on a mission. The man was on the Imperial Center to investigate whether there was a Jedi lurking around in the Underlevels. It would be difficult to detect a single Jedi on a planet like Imperial Center due to millions of sentient beings, but this also gave him an advantage. Inquisitor Animus is a top secret material, only a very people know of his existence. This would help him stay undetected by other Force sensitives.

The Inquisitor walked out of the hangar bay, and would take shortcuts by using alleys where a lot less people would notice him. Eventually, he reached the lift where it would be led down to the Underlevels where millions of pathetic beings resides at the moment. He had to show his badge to a stormtrooper standing guard by the lift, but it indicated that he was merely an Imperial Intelligence agent. Animus could have killed the stormtrooper right there and well on his way to the Underlevels, but the key was stealth. The stormtrooper would show a gesture that would allow him to get on the lift. Inquisitor Animus is waiting for the lift to get him to the Underlevels...

When Animus' lift reached the appropriate stop in the under levels, the doors would slide open. Just outside of them, standing at the rail of the lift platform, stood a woman in a knee length black coat. Her blond locks were fixed into a twist at the nape of her neck and secured with a silver clip. Idly, she tapped one of her high heels on the permacrete as she rested her gloved hands on the rail. It was obvious, even without seeing her face yet, that she was very out of place in the scum hole of Imperial Center. Of course, there was the occasional classy broad in the under levels, mostly high priced madams or mobster girlfriends.

Mira was neither of those. "It's about time you got here." She said as she heard the lift doors open. While she was not Force sensitive at all, she just knew somehow that it was him. Finally, Mira turned and looked up at the Inquisitor. "So what is your plan? Or do you even have one this time?" She asked as she smoothed the lapel of her black coat with her fingertips. The woman was always very well put together, classy, and generally looked as though she belonged on the arm of an aristocrat, not as an Imperial Intelligence Agent. That fact, was what made her so perfect for the job.

Of course, there were a list of 'government' officials that she was to be looking into (new senators and the likes), but for now, she was there to assist Animus.

The doors of the lift opened up, the dark jedi was about to step out when he heard a familiar voice. He paused for a moment, looking down at the permacrete. His face wasn't visible at this moment, but a chuckle could be heard. "Mira. You seem to have a knack of finding me." The Inquisitor stepped out of the lift as it went back up to the surface, to collect anyone else that might want to get to the Underlevels. The man casually approached his good friend, "Are you sure you aren't Force Sensitive?" Animus chuckled once again, indicating that the question was simply a jest. She probably got lucky, the Inquisitor had requested her assistance prior to him scheduling a visit to the Imperial Center. She probably calculate the time of arrival and figured that it would be best to wait in the Underlevels until he shows up. Okay, maybe it wasn't lucky because he doesn't believe in luck.

She would be able to notice that his left hand had gloves. It's because his hand and a part of his arm were mechanical, he lost it in a duel against his former Jedi Master. It was the only price he had to pay for switching to the dark side of the Force. The Inquisitor had met Mira during the Clone Wars, and had become good friends with her ever since. Normally, Inquisitors wouldn't request Intelligence Agents to help out because they usually work alone. This is an exception because he works so well with Mira over the years, and it proved useful in some of the encounters with the Jedi fugitives. The dark jedi looked at Mira in the eyes for a moment, revealing a part of his face. His tone completely changed, turning it into a cold, eerie tone. "I have reasons to believe there has been a Jedi in the Underlevels, and I'm here to investigate whether that's true." His mechanical hand would clasp into a tight fist, indicating that anger was radiating inside the man. He had never forgotten what the Jedi had done to him, and the mechanical arm was a constant reminder. That was a huge part of his willingness to join the ranks of the Inquisitorus.

"Funny thing, I was investigating the same lead. A Jedi in the underlevels. It is hard to believe that one would actually brave being here." She murmured as she slipped a small holopad from the pocket of her chic coat. "And I have a few places to start looking." She tapped lightly on the touchscreen with her manicured fingertips before she turned her gaze to him, and met his own.

Mira offered a small smile, not much at all, but it was enough. "And you know very well that I am not force sensitive, and if I was, well, I would be alot better at my job than I am." She said before she brought up a list on the holopad. Truth was, she was very good at her job.

"So where would you like to start." She held out the holo with the list to him, noting his clenched mechanical fist.

Once he finished up his political business in the Senate rotunda for the day, he made a beeline for the relatively fresher air of the Senate grounds - fresher in the sense that it didn't stink with the foul-mouthed mewlings of puppet senators absorbed in petty competitions with each other to see who could be more loyal to the Emperor than the others. He shuddered at the sycophancy of his colleagues, thinking of only a handful of senators who actually had any independent political views. He pushed the depressing thoughts away as he took up his comlink and froze. It couldn't be..but it was. When his father was senator of Commenor during the waning days of the Republic, he was chair of the Jedi-Republic Relations Committee, which created many contacts and even genuine friendships with many jedi knights and masters in the Order. During Palpatine's Jedi purges, Commenor became an underground railroad of sorts for the few escaped Jedi from Coruscant. Being in the colonies, of course, Commenor couldn't harbor Jedi on a long-term basis so they were always shipped off-planet when they could be smuggled away to another world further away from the hive of Imperial agents and Palpatine himself.

He stared down at his comlink at the incoming message, it was a codename he thought he'd never see again. All the bittersweet memories coming back to him. He looked up casually, knowing the scrutiny of surveillance around the Senate building to be very heavy. He continued walking his usual route, until he got inside his own hovercar. He called up to his driver, "Watson, I think I'd like to be closer to the people today." His driver would recognize the hidden meaning in his words, and he would drive off. Going the usual route, until they got up to a detour for one of the main traffic lanes. "Looks like we'll have to take the detour, Sir. Apologies for the delay back home to the missus." He would nod at his driver's response, as they descended to their true destination, the underworld of Imperial City.

The Inquisitor decided to walk past Mira, perhaps his only friend in the entire galaxy. Then he stopped and looked back toward her, "They hide here because there's too many people in the Underlevels, thus making detecting a Jedi difficult. But no matter, they must pay for their betrayal." The eyes of the dark jedi would be showing some yellowness, and Mira would be able to notice it. It wasn't so much that the Jedi betrayed the Emperor by attempting to stage a coup. It was the fact that his Master had murdered his fellow friend during the Clone Wars, this drove him to hatred and had destroyed his then Jedi Master. It was a personal betrayal that made his hatred all more powerful than most Dark Jedi would have.

"You may not be a Force sensitive, but you might have an advantage over the Jedi. They can detect me, but they can't detect you. Use your wisdom carefully, Agent Naeva." His tone was cold, eerie even. It was clear that the Inquisitor was here to murder the Jedi. Unlike several Inquisitors, Animus doesn't usually capture and give a Jedi a chance to turn to the dark side. "Let's go, Naeva. We'll find them wherever we go." His determination was growing with every moment passing by. The Inquisitor walked away, expecting Mira to follow him.

Mira sighed and turned to watch him. She did, indeed, notice the yellow ring in his eyes but it was nothing that she hadn't seen before. "You are right, of course, as usual. Thank you for reminding me." Mira said in regards to why a Jedi would hide in the underlevels.

She put her datapad away and offered a smile before he walked away and she began to follow. "So what is your plan? You track him and I....?" she knew that she would have to distract the Jedi or something so that Animus could make his move, but she was unsure if that was his idea yet or not.

The Dark Jedi chuckled evilly, looking back at Mira as he continued to walk casually. They were heading toward a street where a lot of sentient beings were around. The man decided to lower his voice, all the way down to a whisper. Enough for Mira to hear, but not everyone else since they were walking closely. A cold, eerie tone continued to come from the Inquisitor. "Call a squad of stormtroopers down here. They are to do their routine...patrol. You are to lead them around." Animus looked back at Agent Naeva, showing the yellowness in his eyes. "You and the stormtroopers are to prey on the weak among this streets. I will be pursuing you discreetly. The Jedi have a weak spot for the innocents. If you do as told, you will lure the Jedi into a trap."

The Inquisitor would turn his grin upside down as he casually took off but not before he whispered something to her. "Agent Naeva, do not fail me. You know the price of failure."

Kenas awoke with a start. He knew exactly where he was, still in the abandoned apartment that his good friend, Alhan Vais, had put him up in for the night. The room was utterly silent and pitch black although there was nothing for him to see. There was no furniture of any kind. All he had to sleep on was an inflatable pad which wasn't very comfortable. His weary body longed for more sleep, but his mind was now alert to something... an unknown danger. Nothing immediate, he sensed.

He rose to his feet with a groan and approached the window. The distant neon lights illuminated the darkness. If he focused, he could faintly hear the sound of club music booming in the distance. The city was always awake, he thought. Kenas entertained the attractive idea of returning to sleep, at least for a few more hours. Who knew when he might get another chance. But no, his intuition told him it was time to get moving again.

After dressing into a pair of black slacks, a simple tunic, and flight jacket, Kenas went into the refresher to throw warm water on his face. This eliminated the last ounces of sleep from his body. He ate a few spare moss chips he had saved. The snack food did little to appease the hunger in his stomach though. His communicator chimed from within his inner jacket pocket. He checked the name before answering, it was Vais.

"Yeah?" Kenas answered.

"Ah, you're awake. Good. I'm on my way now. I think I might know someone who can help us," Alhan said.

"You trust this person, then?" he asked.

Kenas knew Alhan would understand his concern. Like him, Alhan was also considered an enemy of the state by the Empire. Once an prominent Republic politician and anti-war activist, Alhan was blacklisted shortly after Palpatine gave birth to the Empire. Like many Imperial dissidents who couldn't escape off world, Alhan fled to the undercity like some common criminal. Fortunate for Kenas since he would be fresh out of allies on this miserable planet.

"With my life," Alhan said. "We shouldn't talk like this though, I'll be there soon and I brought you something to eat if you're hungry."
"I am indeed. Thank you. I'll be waiting."

With that, he cut the link and slipped the communicator back into his pocket. Finally, he thought, I'm going to get off this planet. Coruscant had been his home for most of his life, the Temple more specifically. Now, he wanted more than ever to get away.

Mira barely acknowledged the Inquisitor's threat. She was near positive that he wouldn't harm her, but only near. "Don't worry. Failure is not really even in my vocabulary." She directed her attention away from him and to the squad that had shown up nearby. Out of her pocket, she pulled the datapad she had earlier and pulled up her list of sightings and possibilities. It was simple math from there.

She sighed and looked to the squad leader. "According to this, the first possible site we should check is here...." Mira pointed to a spot on the map that was pulled up on the datapad. "Two units of abandoned apartments that some have been seen coming and going from. It's a long shot, but more likely than anywhere heavily populated. A Jedi wouldn't want to stand out, and he would, amongst the scum that resides down in this hole." She quipped before she handed the datapad to the squad leader.

"And don't worry about hurting me. You won't." She snapped as she started walking in the direction of the sector that was going to be searched first. "We have to appeal to their need to help the innocent and those in distress. One of a Jedi's weaknesses, so I have been told." Mira had honestly never met a Jedi, aside from Animus, so she took his word on the things that he had told her about them. "You know the plan....it's simple. So stick to it." She ordered firmly.

From that moment on, Agent Naeva, was bait.

The Inquisitor would be stationed at some good distance from Mira and the stormtroopers that were assigned to her. So far Agent Naeva has been sticking to the plan. He fully expected her to continue to do so, but this is a Jedi. A plan always took an unexpected turn whether it's all about finding a Jedi. That is one of the reasons why Animus is staying back from a distance, so that he would be able to stop the Jedi from escaping should Agent Naeva and the stormtroopers fail to notice a Jedi sneaking by.

The Inquisitor was pretty confident that he would be able to find the Jedi when the time comes. For now, the fun part for Agent Naeva begins. Once the Inquisitor finds this Jedi, that's when the real fun begins.

As his hovercar made a circuitous and unassuming route down to the underlevels of the city, he quickly stripped off his formal Senate garb and wormed his way into some inconspicuous looking street clothes. After a second thought, he opened a panel in the middle of the back seat and opened up a bottle of Corellian scotch, dumping about half the bottle all over his body. He also took one of his dress shoes and started scuffing his clothes up with it to create a 'weathered' look to himself. He blackened his face with some shoe leather to more readily mask his true identity as an Imperial senator.

Watson brought the car down to an open sewage canal. "Will this suffice, sir?"

"I'm sure Mrs. Entrente wouldn't mind if we have a little fun tonight, " he grinned at Watson's shocked reaction to his wayward drunkard appearance. "I have you on the usual emergency frequency if I need a quick lift." He slid out of the back of the sleek black hovercraft after making sure his mini-blaster was secure underneath his scuffed up leather jacket. He began staggering down the maintenance platform of the sewage canal before the hovercar lifted off and melded into the darkened and abandoned traffic lanes of the city's underlevels.

He looked around half-drunkenly making sure the coast was clear before whipping out his commlink, making it seem to any unknown observers that he was making an inspired drunk call. He dialed his source and whispered a quick message, "I'm entering the club." More code phrases meaning that he is ready to make physical contact. He continued down the sewage line, moving haphazardly up a service ladder to an apartment level inhabited only by rats and the very worst spice addicts. This is where his hastily designed disguise will either allow him to pass undisturbed or cost him his life.

The Dark Jedi continued to watch Mira from a distance, knowing it might take some time to lure the Jedi out of hiding. The Inquisitor doesn't seem to mind, he loved to hunt. Indeed, he hunts for the Jedi. Unlike several creatures, the hunting season for the Jedi is always open. The twist of hatred is within Animus, and would probably remain there until he dies. That's how much he hates the Jedi, due to their actions during the Clone Wars. The very same action made him betray his own brothers and sisters during the war. His favorite part of the hunt was to see a face of a Jedi before being slew by Animus' lightsaber. The sooner Mira and her squad inflict pain on the innocents, the better. Even though he loved hunting, he'd prefer to get to the Jedi as soon as possible. By waiting too long, the Jedi may escape.

Inquisitor Animus does not tolerate failure, and he will deal harshly with anyone who failed. For now, the Dark Jedi continued to pace himself at some distance from the beautiful agent and the men in white armors.

The commercial transport arrived on Coruscant, passing through all the proper customs and obligations of planetary travelers, Tes'dra Nintra, wearing garb comparable to any other spacer walking around the galaxy first came to visit Imperial Center, formerly Coruscant. His lightsaber had been left behind in storage on another world - it would be entirely to obvious a taunt to anyone hunting force sensitives, and it wasn't his objective to be caught while on the very seat of Imperial Power. Not that he felt any allegiance towards the Jedi - they were just a story to him, an idea that the people of his world talked about in legends, after all - a Jedi had founded their civilization many years ago. A crash landed Jedi, that was.

He made his way to the under-level, seeking first to encounter those most oppressed by this Empire. He saw a squad of men in white armor, led by a woman, and he approached them.

"Evening comrades." He said. Did Imperials call eachother comrades? He didn't know. In that moment, the young man decided that he thought the woman leading them was attractive, and had now impulsively decided to approach her.

His garb, while typical - wasn't of poor make or quality, he appeared as if he had money. On an off handed glance, he'd probably look like some Senator's son, or perhaps a planetary business man's son. The way he carried himself, his bearing was soaked in self confidence and agile movement. He was a fighter of sorts, one could only imagine.

She wasn't, in any respect, leading the squad, or so it would now appear. If he looked closely, he would see that one of the stormtroopers had his hand wrapped tightly around her arm, just above her elbow and the woman looked distressed. The stormtrooper on the other side of her raised his weapon as the man approached, as if he was trying to protect his capture. "What do you want?" The stormtrooper snapped as the other one yanked Mira roughly back.

Of course, Mira played it up a little, wincing and protesting as he yanked on her arm. "Let me go! I didn't do anything!" Mira complained before her gaze turned to the young man. Her gaze was pleading, but if the man was truly a supporter of the Empire, then he would move on. For the moment, anyone that approached would be considered to be a possible traitor.

"Nothing to see here, sir." The other stormtrooper said finally. Meanwhile, Mira fought against his grip, though not as hard as she really could have. His grip was enough that bruises were starting to form on her pale arm.
