As soon as the active jamming began (or the Cloakshapes registered as turning towards the Theta), the shuttle would have begun beating a hasty retreat. In a sense, the actual response times of the craft around the sensor array and indeed, the sensor array itself, were more important data than the actual use of the sensor array. The vessel, of course, did not identify itself, already having turned tail and accelerating towards maximum speed. Shiva had chosen the scientific station as a leapfrog target of sorts. Obviously, it would be hard to utilize the station without incurring any casualties, but from the Separatist commander's viewpoint (be it right or wrong), any who actively resisted his forces' brief occupation of the station received their just rewards if they were killed. The station itself had little value, other than as an approach route, and it certainly wouldn't do in the long run to have Vjun warning Volus that an attack was coming.

The Theta-class vessel had done its work well. The sensor array had been scanned, along with its surrounding assets. As near as Shiva's men had been able to discern, a pair of gun emplacements had been stationed to act as overwatch on the array. A pair of Cloakshape fighters had been noted as well, and if two were present, Shiva estimated at least six more. Better to estimate high instead of low. As such, the point would be to take out the communications array or nullify its use as quickly as possible without letting them get a message off.
Luckily, the telemetry data from the shuttle had given him an idea.
