There was no real 'larger' ship within the Red Mynock pirates; simply varying degrees of freighters. Even with the sudden appearance of the corvettes, they simply did not have enough time to counter the turn-and-burn tactics of the Red Mynocks. The Gloom suffered some minor electrical damage due to the heavy barrage of fire, but its jump was otherwise unimpeded. The Caliph's Sun, faster and more maneuverable than the other ships in its group, dodged the fire completely before its jump. The Toad's Edge suffered the worst as it blazed to hyperspace: it's rotating periscope cannon had been blasted from its mount and it had suffered significant damage to hull and systems. If anything, it was a wonder it was able to make the jump at all.

Of course, the worst was yet to come for the Volusians.

The Gloom and Caliph's sun would be able to make it to hyperspace but the Toad's Edge would not, its engines would take several direct shots from the combined firepower of the Corellian Corvettes which had been focusing the bulk of their firepower on that single ship and a freighter simply wouldn't be able to take their combined outputs and would end up with their engines destroyed and left pretty much dead in the water. The lead corvette would hail the disabled ship telling them to power down and wait to be boarded.

On the other side there would be plenty of activity as the new ships had transfered over to the Volusians and were now being refueled and readied for their new jobs on the patrol. The fighters themselves would break up a bit this time sticking to keep at least two squadrons together instead of individual squadrons going out on their own.

The Toad's Edge, upon being disabled, was still for a moment and then blew up quite suddenly and completely. It was obvious the crew had rigged an explosive of some sort in the event they were disabled. It might give the Volusians pause when dealing with the pirates again; indeed, the pirates would be back, but Shiva was nowhere near done with Volus just yet.

((Hm, was half asleep when I posted this response, but technically isn't that an auto hit? I mean, I posted damage of my craft already. Is that legit? Management, any opinion?))

((It was posted as focused on a single ship instead of three ships as your post assumed))

Once they were gone Volus would send the reports to the empire and to all those that it was required that they send them too.

Much later, Shiva relaxed above Rinn, speaking with the leader of the Red Mynock pirates, a large burly man with a bushy black beard and a shaved head whose name did not fit him: Andrew Ferryman. Ferryman was rather upset about the loss of the Toad's Edge and its crew. Shiva's reminder that the Porax-38 was not on board the ship at the time did little to mollify the man. However, promises of a new freighter seemed to make him happy and so, when Ferryman departed, Shiva was left with time to think.

Destroying some of Volus' assets would require more than just freighters and fighters, and the Red Mynocks were short on both. It might well be time to bring in the Sword of Justice and see what his allies were willing to contribute.
