Over Alurion, a YT-1300 freighter dropped out of hyperspace. It was modified, loaded out with two quad laser cannons, a proton torpedo launcher, and sophisticated communications and sensor suite. In every way, it appeared to be a smuggler's ship. It broadcasted an ID, signaling it was the Black Dove out of Corellia. They didn't broadcast any message however, and merely cruised along towards the ruins of New Coronet. It was a ruse, but they would hopefully be taking advantage of the demoralization of Alurion, the devastation of their capital city and defenses, and quickly falling popular support for the rebellion to make a discreet and unnoticed entry. If it went otherwise however, there was a plan. For now, however, they would attempt to silently land in the ruins of New Coronet and proceed from there.

The Carrack-class cruiser Prudence maintained a formidable distance from Alurion, on the farthest reaches of the system. The cruiser was equipped with long-range sensors and was scanning deliberately for the presence of any rebel or separatist ships that might be hiding there. If any such ships were detected, the Prudence and its compliment of TIE fighters would dispatch them. Imperial ships would not be ambushed again, including, most likely, the Prudence. If there was anything out there, the ship's crew would see it before it saw them. Of course, the Prudence was also there for a secondary purpose—the highly secretive Operation Tong.

(( You can skip me for the next few rounds, if you'd like. I'm just establishing the presence of this ship in the system. ))

The freighter identifying itself as Black Dove would, at such a reversion to real-space distance, note the formation of starfighters not broadcasting any form of identification, leaving the planet and indeed, already outside the atmospheric level. The Mynocks had rescued as many of the key leaders as they could; it was nowhere near the five-hundred Bastile wanted, but hopefully it was enough. With its long-range scanners as well, the Prudence might spot them, save for the fact that they had, by good fortune, departed via the opposite side of the planet in which the cruiser was facing.

And so, the Mynocks prepared to head out-system.

On the black dove, many had escaped, mostly idealogues, those responsible for crimes against the Empire and young rebels. Thomas Bastile had decided to stay behind and help rebuild New Coronet. The capital increasingly resembled a shanty town as Thomas sat and wrangled with the Remnants of the Protection Committee in a large tent erected in the burned out ruins of the town hall.

The population was small, a shadow of it's previous number, a couple of dozen militiamen had returned to town and pitched their tents in the ruins, as the men lay about in the warm mid day sun, treating the few wounded and resting, work parties could be seen rebuilding the rifle pits around the town.

Two hundred evacuees had returned to the town, some families lived in shelters made by stringing tarpaulins across e ruins of their houses, others used scrap to rebuild small huts. A few local government workers laboured rebuilding the old stone south bridge with a smaller wooden section, bridging the blasted holes in the stone masonry.

In a crude wooden tower a pair of sentries sat, looking out across the countryside while paying attention to their conversation rather than observation.

Thomas sat, the postmaster sitting tied to a chair opposite him. "You will record a video explaining our demands, and explain that if the Empire agrees to recognise our independence we will free you unharmed after three months."

They landed in the ruins of New Coronet. He and three others stepped out, while four more waited inside the ship. He walked through the town, dressed in plain clothes, but still armed. Plain clothes wouldn't do it justice, per se; they were outfitted to appear as mercenaries. If stopped, they had a story, but for now, they moved about as if they knew what they were doing. A short walk from their landing, their contact met them. Silently, he motioned to them and they followed.

He was a high ranking individual, with knowledge. Following the disastrous and embarrassing operation earlier, he had gone to work. It would take loyalty to save his homeworld, and Orion would silently agree with him. With the way things went earlier, he wouldn't be surprised if the retaliation would end with a base delta zero. He shook his head as he walked among the ruins and those attempting to rebuild. Such needless, and reckless, destruction. He knew that there were things that needed to be done, and sometimes there was collateral damage in war; someone who did his job was required to accept that. However, he never deliberately targeted civilians, in all his years in black ops, which were many. The military existed to protect those who could not protect themselves, even civilians with the enemy. In the case here, they needed protection from the manipulation of their leaders, from the power the extremists of their world wielded. The Imperial military had failed them when it needlessly bombarded this city. It was time he showed how it was done.

After a few moments, he was led to the very tent Thomas Bastile, and the post master were in. His informant had led them this far, it was time to get to work, as he and the three that accompanied him walked into the tent. "Thomas Bastile, I presume?" he said aloud, observing what was inside quickly as they strode in, their weapons still holstered.

Thomas was informed of the "Mercenaries" coming to help him, giving a warm smile as they approached. "Ah! The noble raiders who aided us in crushing the maurauders who descended upon our world to wreak senseless destruction. How can I be of service to you? Have you vessels enough to aid the escape of the remnants of my comrades here?" he gestured to the postmaster "And this symbol of tyranny, Postmaster Verne."

He nodded to Bastile. "Indeed, sir. Unfortunately, we have only enough room for you, what's left of the Alurion leadership, and the Postmaster." he said, looking around the tent, observing the various individuals inside. "We'll be taking you to a Cathar, and in a couple of days, we'll head to Junction, where a larger ship will be meeting up with us. There, the others that have been pulled off planet will meet with us, and some forces from the Freeworlds will escort us into their space, where you will be immune to Imperial persecution." he said. As he spoke, he talked with a Freeworlds accent, while those with him, chatted up some of the guards in a Dantooine dialect. "Please, we must hurry, however. My resources have reported a large Imperial force gathering over Deralia. They appear to be preparing to deploy along a trajectory towards us, to retaliate." he said to him, attempting to lead the leadership out of the tent.

"We must move swiftly then" ThOmas spoke urgently to the committee who packed their arms and baggage and followed Karath back to his ship "We are mighty glad of your help. We are all good men who want to see out world free an seeing people from so far abroad aiding us is a deep honour indeed" he frowned at the Deralia words "Deralia is at the other side f the rim, you mean Dantooine?"

He nodded, "Apologies, sir. Fear is getting the better of me. Dantooine is the staging point for the retaliatory attack," he said, now looking grave, "Deralia is where an Inquisitor is being sent from to interrogate and execute you all upon capture by the Imperial forces, that is after leading the Imperial forces in battle." He began leading them towards the ship once they were all outside, keeping his guard up and looking around. He looked out at the devestation again, and shook his head. "It is a shame, isn't it? Such loss of life? Such a rash and selfish act? So many needless deaths, and for what? The reason is hard for a rational and sensible man to find." he said to Bastile, as they walked through the rubble.

Thomas looked across the bleak ruins as the others climbed aboard the ship. "I surely can't fathom it. My people simply seek to be able to farm their few acres of land without men a galaxy away sending them orders which they have no say in the making of. I had thought the Emperor might come to reasonable terms with us, simply allow us to break away and trade as a separate world. I can't believe anybody would be mad enough to order a Star Destroyer to come to my world, and bombard us unprovoked.. I truly did not think the Empire so violent.." he wept a tear and climbed aboard "I only hope to return at a time when a man can be free without a tyrant above his head. One day I hope you and I can drink and remember the fallen in the streets of New Coronet and sit under the stars as free equals."

"We will," he simply said to him, leading him aboard. Once everyone was within the ship, they took off, and began heading into the skies above the ruins of New Coronet. The postmaster was taken into a separate room where he would be treated for his injuries and mistreatment. "Orbit is clear, sir. It's a blue milk run." called out the pilot as he walked back to check on the postmaster. "How is he doc?" he asked, as he walked in. "He'll live. He shows signs of abuse and malnutrition, but we can fix him up." the man responded. The Black Dove was a YT-1300p, thus he nodded to the Medic, and walked back into the passenger lounge, coming from the engineering bay that had been converted to double as a medical center. By now they were all strapped in for the trip into orbit and eventually away from Alurion. Away to freedom and the ability to one day return to their liberated world. This, would not happen, however. It would have been nice for them if his story had been the truth, but it was not. High Command didn't trust Captain Deamora entirely, and he was sent. It was his job, he was the cleaner. He stepped in as an insurance against anything going wrong yet again.

As he stood in the lounge, he was joined by his squad, the four of them surrounding the group, and pulling E-11s on all of them. "Mr. Bastile, the Emperor would like to have a word with you and your friends. For the trip to him however, you will have to be bound and under armed guard, I'm afraid." he said, as a fifth man, also in the mercenary garb of the others, walked into the room with zip-ties, ready to secure all of Alurion's rebel leadership.

Bastile's group all reached for their arms, pulling them up to a situation resembling something close to a mexican standoff with the four men. Bastile's vibrosword was drawn in a flash and was drawn infront of him so that he could impale a trooper before the man could pull his trigger. "Lower your weapons Comrades. These men will only slaughter more of our countrymen if we draw their blood." he said gesturing to his men and offering his sword to Karath. "You fairly caught me mon amis. You have the surrender of myself and my men present. I only hope that you will have more honour than the butcher of New Coronet would in the treatment of me and my compatriots. Know that we are true patriots, fighting for our freedom, for a say in the running of our own lives. For that we bear no shame, and we pray that one day you will shed that uniform and cease to be an affront to the dignity of man and instead that you too will fight for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, instead of for a tyrant." he let his vibrosword clatter to the ground inactive.

He smiled to Bastile and his men. "I am an honorable man, unlike the naval Captain. Don't mistake my ruse... I did mean my words regarding your capital city." he said to them, he nodded to the fifth man, who scattered the weapons and tied up Bastile's group. He secured them in their seats as well, so they could not escape. Karath took a chair next to Bastile. "I am Captain Orion Karath, Imperial Army Special Forces." he said to him, now talking in his natural Corellian accent.

"Mister Bastile, you are mistaken. Had you remained loyal to the Emperor, you would still be free men, and have a say in the running of your lives. Your sector does not have a Moff, and you are fairly represented in the Imperial Senate by Exar Ray of Dantooine. There is no logical reason for your rebellion. You are mistaken, for my uniform stands for dignity. I do not manipulate innocents into dying for a unworthy cause. I fight for liberty, equality, and fraternity now. Liberty from manipulation and corruption. Equality, in that we are ensuring the lesser species are no longer mistreated. Fraternity, in that my brothers in arms will hopefully not lose their lives liberating Alurion." he said to him. After a moment, looking at Bastile the entire time, he spoke again. "Mr. Bastile, I need to know the locations of your weapons caches. If I do not gain that information, many will die... on both sides; and I can assure you, Alurion will be in the majority in that regard." he said to him, beginning the second phase of his mission. By now the ship had broke through the atmosphere and was cruising through orbit. As they did so, the pilot commed to the Prudence, "Overlord, this is Warhorse. Xim and his Guardians are captured. Heading to the edge of the system."

"Our weapons caches are very few, all remaining weapons are in the New Coronet lines" he said, giving up on reasoning with this brainwashed grunt "All other weapon stocks were hit in the genocidal attack by your predecessor, if you scan the ruins of New Coronet you will see that weapons were destroyed on the ground" he spoke truthfully here, as many weapons and a torpedo had been destroyed on the ground and would leave a residual signal. "As you will know, we are a poor world and have not had any supplies from offworld, so the weapons we did have were a few home-made missiles, the designer of which is dead in the attack on New Coronet.. and our blaster pistols and rifles"

He nodded to Bastile, and gave him a smile. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" he asked, standing up. He began walking away, but turned to Bastile. "You've saved countless lives in cooperating with me." he said to him, and then resuming his walk to the cockpit, while another man joined the group surrounding the captives, all of whom trained their E-11s upon them. Once he was up there, he sat in the co-pilot's seat. As they proceed along their flight to the Prudence's position, he mused the absence of Imperial forces. "I figure the assault would have began by now." he said to the pilot. "Well, sir, you did complete the mission about ten minutes ahead of schedule." responded the other Captain, his old friend, Michael Hanley.

Once they reached the Prudence, they assumed a position just below the ship, as the orbiting fighters returned to their racks. It was a blue milk run all the way, and it left him wondering how the main operation would go. There was now a leaderless rebellion down on the planet, and who knows what they would do. His mission was accomplished however, and after a moment, the Black Dove and the Prudence entered hyperspace together, headed for Borosk.
