General Tenko stood at a large table before him, set up in a small camp that the Gungan Resistance Force had set up for just this operation. It wasnt a large group, only a small group, enough to get in and get out of the city with out making a large presence known. "Remember, if they are not an Imperial Stormtrooper, leave them living. If you run into a Naboo Security Force member, knock them out and drag them out of the way. We dont want to kill the Naboo Royal Security Forces, we will need their help eventually when they decide to stand with us in this fight." The commanders nodded as Tenko laid out the plan. It required two Squads of men to act inside of the city, with two more on the outside waiting to support the Gungan squads that would be working with in the city. The two support squads with STAPs lying in wait for the call.

"Set up the STAPs squadrons at the best locations for entry should they get called. Keep them hidden in the country side under the cover of the trees. Blue Squad will enter the city from the west and make a distraction, bringing the other security towards that area of town. At that point Red Squad will move through the east of the city to set up a clear opening of escape. From here we'll hit the supply depot north east of Red Squads entrance. Gather as much supplies as you can, then move out of the city. At that time a flare will mark the time for Blue Squadron to also exit after their diversions have been set off to keep Security busy and prevent them from heading back to the Supply Depot."

Each of the Squad leaders nodded as they looked over the plan before Tenko nodded to the four Sergeants that would be going on the mission. Tenko would be nearby with a platoon of men just in case things got worse. He was hoping however that it would be easy enough, the town being small and away from any real area or point that could be considered strategic. Just a small city named for a being who found Naboo. Tenko's hope though, if the raid succeeded, was to cause the Empire's General Relius to send troops to the city, causing his numbers to be thinned out from other locations.

Corporal Vanderbilt was the RSF's station chief in Kwilaan, and presided over a force of no more than 35 security officers. Kwilaan, a quiet city on Naboo's frontier of fewer than 7,500 population, had never needed more than this. Indeed, bursas, not criminals, were the greatest danger to the people of Kwilaan (and Gungan raids, historically, during the era of animosity between Gungans and the Naboo). It was for this reason that Kwilaan, otherwise known only for its farms and its large sensor array, also had an arms depot. It wasn't much of an arms depot; it had mostly S-5 blaster pistols, CR-2 blaster pistols, and ornamental pikes for the Royal Crusaders when occasionally they were reconstituted (the pikes were also surprisingly useful against bursas).

But Vanderbilt was never wanting for something to do; the blonde moustachioed Corporal often responded to calls himself, and this afternoon he was riding shotgun in a V-19 landspeeder, with another officer driving and a trainee in the back seat. Vanderbilt was attempting to lecture the trainee on procedure but constantly devolving into amusing anecdotes, "for example," from his long career. Whatever distraction General Tenko had in mind, they would be the nearest to it and probably the first ones on the scene.

As for the depot, it had no permanent guards—only a fence with a sensor monitored by a PKN-49 worker droid programmed for one purpose and one purpose only; to be vigilant for intrusions and report them to Kwilaan's RSF station nearby.

Kwilaan had been picked because of its "lack" of a security force. A small group was all that the town needed, and for a while it had no action towards it at all. A sleepy little farming town now, and it was Tenko's hope that this raid would cause the Empire to send in troops. It would cause a stir with the locals, yet for Tenko, it would be a perfect opportunity to thin out General Relius' numbers. Even if the General just sent in a handful of Stormtroopers, the next goal would be to take them out and keep causing replacements to be sent. It was a war of attrition, one that the Gungans, with their knowledge of the planet and ability to live and thrive in the swamps, were perfectly suited for. The groups had waited until it was night, knowing that would be the perfect time to hit. The Blue Squad was moving towards their objective, the side of town to create the distraction. Of course they had their orders to ensure no one would be injured in the process, and that was something that Sargent Ti was handpicked by Major Tinsa Marsune to oversee.

Sargent Ti and his squad moved closer as they found a couple of speeders out in the open. Both at rest as the Gungans looked to each other, who had by now spread out to keep themselves hidden and not looking as if they were doing anything should one of them be found. As the other kept a watchful eye out, the Sargent moved closer to the speeders. It was a perfect tool for the distraction. Once more the squad checked to ensure that no one was around before they began to pull back. The Sargent setting up the controls on the speeder before the engines began to hum. It was only a few seconds after Sargent Ti left the area around the speeder to watch from an alley not too far away, that the speeders engines roared for a moment before it sped across the open and clear plaza, straight into another speeder, making a thunderous crack as they metal of each speeder struck together. The engines shutting down, a safety routine installed, just after the crash.

Blue Squad nodded as they began to spread out in the area to keep an eye on the Security Forces, they knew that heard the crash and was reported by now, headed to the site. It was also to cover Red Squad, whom by now was making their own way into the town on the other side, stopping as they spotted a small patrol of two Security Personnel out on their patrol.

Predictably, the call came over the speeder's comm and Corporal Vanderbilt and his cohorts were the first ones on the scene of the collision. Three or four pedestrians would have gathered there, and as Vanderbilt's speeder came to a halt and the three officers climbed out and onto the cobblestone street, the Corporal confided in the Private some advice that he took quite literally; pay attention to everything. It was he who noticed an unusually large number of Gungans loitering about the scene, doing nothing in particular. He hadn't seen them in Kwilaan before, and while his colleagues went to question the other witnesses on the scene, the Private went to question the nearest Gungans. Standard questions; "What is your name?" "What did you see?" And, for good measure, "What brings you here today?" Corporal Vanderbilt had always told him to be thorough. Meanwhile, since there wasn't much for the RSF to do in Kwilaan, another RSF speeder was on its way to the scene—precisely what General Tenko wanted.

Meanwhile, the Gungan "red squad" would come upon the duo of patrolmen in the midst of an exasperated conversation.

"Something finally happens and do we get the call? Of course not," one of them (the younger of the two) said, having just heard about the accident on his comlink.

"When you've been at this a few more years, you'll learn to appreciate having nothing to do," the other said.

"Says the big city vet! Come on, you must miss Keren now and then."

"Nope. I had my fill of the place when the Trade Federation rolled in, not to mention the CIS. These days I like a little peace and quiet."

"To each his own, I suppose."

Blue Squad had been training for this part of the mission for a while. Each of them sharing the same story, each with their own little spins on it as to where they came from. The base line of it though was a collective normal. Each of them had come to Kwilaan looking for work, their families hoping that they could find something in one of the cities so they could send the credits home. They would work in Kwilaan as long as they could, or before the stormtroopers would come in to harass them for not being human, before moving to the next city. The members of Blue Squad one by one spoke with those on the scene, each telling their story as they spoke, purposely making it seem like they where less intelligent than they really were. It was all part of the plan, keep the RSF at the scene as long as they could so Red Squad could get their job done.

Red Squad moved closer as Sargent Rai Po nodded to two of the men under his command. The Squad listening to the simple banter between what was now seen as RSF partners. In the few moments after they finished speaking they would both feel the arms around their neck, cradling their heads with another arm holding them still. No doubt they would struggle, yet in mere seconds they would begin to see their vision tunnel, and their response slow until the Gungans slowly brought them down to the ground, laying them as they were now out cold. Sargent Rai Po motioned to the Squad to get the RSF members out of sight, moving them off into the shadows, as well as setting their comlinks to a presetting giving off a break code, that was simple in the effect of letting anyone who contacted them know they were on break.

At this time Sargent Rai Po motioned for his men to move, each of them following a path laid out that would lead them to the arms depot located near them. The hardest part would be dealing with the droid, yet they brought along a technician to deal with it. Red Squad moved into the city as they continued towards their objective, stopping for a moment as the second RSF speeder went by before they came out of the shadows again and approached the arms depot, staying in the shadows around the area to prevent them from being seen.

Red Squad was fortunate; the younger of the RSF officers attempted to pry his attacker's arms away from his neck, as one is naturally inclined to do under the circumstances. The older one did too, for a moment, before deciding that he should try to summon reinforcements instead. The quickest way to do so was to fire his blaster into the air, but he didn't manage to unholster it with one hand (his other hand still trying to pry the Gungan's arm loose) before he lost his coordination, then his consciousness. He would be laid down beside his partner as Red Squad went about its work.

It would be difficult for them to do so, though, without being detected. The setup at the arms depot was sublimely simple; a sensor field conducted along a chain-link fence—climbing the fence would trigger the sensors, cutting the fence would trigger the sensors. The power source, moreover, was a generator inside the arms depot itself not connected to Kwilaan's power grid (it wasn't the most sophisticated setup, after all). The downside to it was that anything set it off; a bird flying into the fence, for example, or someone leaning against it. Power outs too, for if the sensors stopped working this, too, was cause for suspicion. It was up to the PKN-49 droid, also inside the arms depot, to decide what constituted a real threat and what didn't. It was the sort of dull job that only a droid could do, and it was more vigilant at it than any Human would be.

Back at the scene of the collision, Corporal Vanderbilt and his officers were continuing to record the information about the collision itself and the owners of the speeders, etc. The other V-19 speeder had since arrived. The Gungans were told that they weren't going to find any work at night in a residential neighborhood, and needed to find somewhere else to be for the night that wasn't on the street. The Private confided his "bad feeling about this" to Vanderbilt, but nothing seemed amiss to the Corporal. He simply told the Gungans to "Move along" and "Don't let me find you out here on the street again tonight, okay? I don't want to take you in." Vanderbilt was a kindly man, but he took seriously Kwilaan's anti-vagrancy laws.

The members of blue squad did their job as they nodded, each one speaking to the officers whom stopped them. Sargent Ti gathered up his people as he nodded to the officers as he listened closely before speaking up. "We're sorry sir, we just thought we could find a place to stay for the night before looking for working in the morning." The Gungan smiled before he lead his men away from the scene and out of the city to find a place to rest for the night where they wouldn't be picked up for vagrancy, but was a bit more problematic considering the Empire now on the planet.

Red Squad watched closely as they noticed the set up, it would be difficult to get into the complex, yet there was an idea running through their minds. Sargent Rai Po was beginning to think of a plan as he watched a bird fly into the fence, setting off the sensors as they watched closely, the Sargent letting a smirk cross his lips before he motioned to his group of men to move around to the back side of the arms depot and stay out of sight.

Sargent Rai Po motioned to one of his men who nodded as they picked up a large enough item, a handful of the squad members moved a bit closer, remembering to stay out of sight as the approached the gate. At that time Sargent Rai Po took the item he was holding as he threw it at the gate, setting off the sensor just long enough to create a gap. When the rock in his hand hit the fence the gungans near it began to climb quickly over the fence before dropping in behind as they took a quick look before they rushed over behind a handful of crates to keep themselves hidden.

Tenko's "Red Squad" would be in a difficult position; having caused a distraction, they could either A.) scurry up the fence one at a time, helping each other as they went, or B.) climb it all at once in the hopes of doing it fast enough to avoid detection. The problem with Option B, though, was that it would cause a massive sensor disturbance that was sure to rouse PKN-49's suspicions, and the problem with Option A was that only one or two of the Gungans would make it over the fence before here, too, PKN-49 would become aware of it. Option A seemed to be the best one, and since a number of the Gungans did make it into the compound unnoticed (that is, were stated to have done so in Post #7), this is presumably the option that Red Squad had chosen. It would be up to those one or two Gungans, though, to do what needed to be done inside the compound while the rest would be wise to get out of sight—PKN-49 had control of external holocameras and would surely point one of them in the direction of the disturbance.

Back at the scene of the speeder collision, Corporal Vanderbilt and his men continued to gather information, now insurance information from the owners of the respective speeders while onlookers began to disperse into the night. All was quiet on this side of Kwilaan, but Private McCott wasn't satisfied; the first speeder had been parked up the street, after all—it hadn't driven itself into the square. And the Gungan vagrants were the only thing that seemed out of place on an otherwise ordinarily night in Kwilaan. Vanderbilt thought the Private was overthinking things, but didn't blame him for doing so (having told McCott to "pay attention to everything"). He reassured McCott though, that he would have one of the foot patrols keep their eyes open for the Gungans tonight to make sure they stayed off the streets and out of trouble. He got on his comm...

... to the RSF officers who had been knocked unconscious by Red Squad.

"This is Vanderbilt," his voice would be heard from one of their prone bodies, "Do you read? Hello?"

The two gungans that had made it over quickly moved towards the shadows they could find to hide, those that were supposed to join them pulled back into the shadows away from the view of the holocams along the outside of the fence. One of the members from the squad was left to stay next to the knocked out guards to keep an eye on them. When he heard the radio crackle to life he quickly motioned to one of the closer members to him who passed it down the line to the Sargent. He knew that the other RSF guards would arrive soon because of the unanswered call as he motioned to the gungans on the other side of the fence that the guards would be arriving.

Those that made it on the other side of the fence nodded their heads as they approached the small building in the center, quickly pressing up against the wall to stay in the shadows. The two looking around before they headed towards the front of the building to try and gain entrance. Their movements slow as they approached, by this time blue squadron had doubled back, taking a wide path on the other side of the hills around the city as they approached the entry point of red squadron, now waiting outside of the town as they watched the movements from their new position.

Corporal Vanderbilt's suspicions were slow to arousal, and he attempted to contact the foot patrol 2 or 3 more times before he concluded that something was, indeed, amiss. "Well," he said to Private McCott, setting the comlink down and raising a hand to face as he contemplatively stroked his prodigious blonde moustache, "Looks like trouble, and more on-the-job training for you, Private." He grinned, wolfishly. "Let's go," he said, instructing the other officer to come with them and leave the collision to the other RSF speeder on the scene. The three piled into their car and peeled away in the general direction of the missing foot patrol. "Probably nothing," Vanderbilt remarked on the way, feeling a need to break the silence, "Fell asleep, maybe. But we can't take chances." The foot patrol was a rather long one, so it would take some minutes of driving along the route before they would come upon the arms depot (but surely they would arrive there no later than Blue Squad, which was on foot).

The speeder, even cruising slowly and with all three of its occupants looking intently for anything amiss, would probably drive past the arms depot without noticing the Gungans huddled inside the compound—nothing unusual had been reported there, after all. It would double back and return in a few minutes' time, however. In the meantime, the Gungans had continued to go unnoticed inside the depot itself; the depot being essentially a windowless shack with faux masonry on the outside to match Kwilaan's classic architecture. Inside were a few weapons racks, a lone ceiling fan, and the security terminal where the PKN-49 droid was stationed. At the moment, it was monitoring the holofeed where the disturbance had occurred on the fence, but detected no anomalies. It perused the other feeds too—a simple task for a droid with nothing else to do for hours on end other than running diagnostics self-checks and recreational computations not unlike Sudoku.

((I hope you don't mind me jumping in here and bumping things a little, since the whole Naboo plot has become a little stagnate.))

As Sergeant Vanderbilt and his patrol made their way to the other side of town to investigate the unresponsive patrol, the side from which they were coming experienced yet another disturbance. This disturbance, however, was far more regular of late, and many had gone about to just ignoring it. An Imperial patrol, a Lance of Scout Troopers on 74-Z Speeder Bikes to be precise, was beginning to hit the outskirts of the town. "Raptor Actual this is Raptor 1-1; we're coming up on Kwilaan now. Initiating perimeter sweep, scheduled urban sweep will be conducted next." radioed in Sergeant CT-29/8395, also known as "Ice". He was, in a sense, the premier Scout Trooper of the 21st; one of the few remaining Clone Wars era Scout Troopers. He led his Lance with precision, and coolness. There was no panic in his unit... only obedience and a deadliness unparalleled, in their minds, within the Stormtrooper Corps. It was these five Scout Troopers that began their circling of Kwilaan, and had potentially become the fuse to the powderkeg that was unknowingly brewing in the small town.

(( I'm down to RP with you for a bit while we're waiting on Tenko. Just give me a half a day or so to rest up. Likewise for other Naboo-related threads. ))

Added (29 Nov 2011, 3:45 AM)

The armory being situated on the far side of town, and Corporal Vanderbilt and company cruising in the vicinity, it wasn't surprising they'd be among the first (of many, soon enough) to hear the characteristic whine of repulsorlifts as the Imperial patrol closed on Kwilaan's perimeter. Vanderbilt was a cordial man who approached his job in good humor, but he had no patience for the Imperials, whose occupation of the planet seemed to him a reprise of the Trade Federation's. His brow creased and a frown formed beneath his bushy, blonde moustache. "How many times have I told them 'No night patrols'?" he asked, rhetorically. "Waking up the whole city!"

As soon as one of the Imperial speeder bikes appeared within view, Vanderbilt was distracted from the search for his missing RSF foot patrol and hit the speeder's red and blue lights. "Get after that one," the Corporal directed to the pilot, who stepped on the accelerator and sent the V-19 speeder into hot pursuit. "I'm going to have a word with this one, I am," Vanderbilt declared, holding onto his hat as the wind whipped about him. This was to the Gungans' benefit, of course—they would have more time now to get in and out of the armory either undetected or, at least, undeterred.

Those gungans that had managed to get into the building heard the commotion outside, not knowing what it was about, or if they had been found out. Each carrying a bag as they approached the weapon racks, finding the ones they were after. The S-5 Heavy Blaster Pistols sat in their weapon racks, the gungans though where now in a hurry, wanting to get out in case the commotion outside was for them. Each of the gungans grabbed as much as they could, wrapping their arms around a few and pushing them into the bag, knowing they wouldn't be able to clean out the entire weapon cache as one of the two pulled out one of their booma and rolled it across the floor towards the droid, the booma going off in a brilliant bright blue energy, a hope that it took out the droid and console as they grabbed for a few more of the pistols before slinging the bags over their shoulders.

The two pushed open the door and rushed out of the building, heading towards the point on the gate they had crossed over it on. The gungans that had been hiding coming up to it as the two threw the bags of weapons over to be caught on the other side before they began to scale the fence. As the two climbed, the others kept up their guard, knowing at any time the patrol could come back, and worse yet, stormtroopers had arrived on the scene. The leaders of both red and blue squad motioned to each other, knowing that they'd need help as they got ready to call on the two squadrons of STAPs that had been brought along. The least they could do was tie up the patrol with some warning fire, while targeting the stormtroopers to open a clear path for the gungans to retreat from the city.

((Apologies, gentlemen.))

Ice continued his led of the encirclement of the city. All five of them were looking for anything that was amiss. As they had come in, the conclusion of some sort of speeder accident was noticeable, but otherwise ignored. The town seemed quiet otherwise and all clear, when a RSF speeder flashing its lights came towards them. The Lance came to a halt at his orders, and awaited the RSF speeder. While they did so, the Scout Troopers checked their bikes, ensured no gear or weapons had fallen off, and that their weapons were in fact ready should they be, however unlikely, needed.
