| A Theta-class T-2c shuttle dropped out of hyperspace over the orbit of Pybus. Before their, and during, trip to the assigned destination, Mika did some studying of Pybus. She had discovered that it was a planet without any population, yet it is capable of supporting life. That wasn't the most interesting part. The most interesting part was the planet was rumored to be covered by an ancient mysterious ruins. Which means it probably is common for treasure hunters to come upon Pybus to search for this treasure. She wasn't a treasure hunter, though. However, the most mysterious part of Pybus was that, for unknown reasons, the Hutts considered the planet to be taboo. Which means they would most likely not come to the planet. Especially when the Libs' choice of transportation appears Imperial.
The Hutt Cartel knew better than to mess with the Empire. Anyway, Mika and her friend Jules' security escorts were higher than usual. From the front on Nar Shaddaa, a new squadron was being assigned to protect the duo. In addition, Mika had hired a couple of freelancers to use their own fighters to escort the Theta. The couple of fighters were Cloakshape fighters, common in hands of various pirate factions. It's possible that the Libs could have had a couple of pirates on loan. Mika's commanding officer had to make sure Mika stays wary the whole time she wouldd be on Pybus. This wasn't just another rebel group seeking to forge an alliance with the Libs. It was a remnant, a faction of the Separatists left over from the Clone Wars. The Libs' leader was a veteran on the Republic side, and he knew of many atrocities the Separatists committed during the Clone Wars.
One of the atrocities was the common sabotage every time a negotiation for peace is about to take place. Then again, it's possible the Order of the Sith Lords did it themselves. Each member of the squad had a DC-15a blaster rifle, common weapon of choice being used by clone troopers during the Clone Wars. In addition to that, Mika was given a DC-17 hand blaster to protect herself. There's no telling how the meeting might turn out to be. This is why they had to be prepared as much as possible. Especially after hours of trying to acquire information about the guy that contacted them.
The shuttle, along with the Cloakshapes, descends into the atmosphere. They were heading for the surface. Mika had a feeling the meeting would take place in the woods, where it'd be hard for the Empire to hit...should they come. Upon landing, the ramp touched the ground. Mika would look at Jules. "You ready?" That was all she would say before nodding to the soldiers, as the squad would be the first ones to get out of the shuttle.

| For all intents and purposes, Jules really hadn't been out into the field yet. Sure, she had delivered messages back and forth between her employer and Mika's, but that was it, nothing dangerous. Nothing like this.
"Sure. Ready as I'll ever be I guess." She said as she stood and looked to Mika. "So....what did you find out about this guy? Anything?" Jules wasn't afraid, but she really wasn't looking forward to it either. The sooner this meeting was over, the better it would be...for both of them.

| Before long, a similar Theta-class shuttle would drop from orbit over hyperspace, also near Pybus. Unlike the Libs' vessel, it was not escorted by any snubfighters. Unknown to the Libs, unless they had a craft waiting far out at the edge of the system, was this particular vessel's backup: a single Munificent, poised and ready with hyperdrives warmed up to pop in and unleash all kinds of death should the meeting get out of hand. To Shiva, Phen Varak was a tool, but a useful tool; one that would not turn in his hand, at least not yet.
It was Phen Varak who was onboard the shuttle, though his escort was of a different sort than the Libs brought as well. The landing site was easy to spot, being the only one with traces of vehicles and electronics and indeed, the swooping shuttle might seem threatening as it came in fast and then flared upwards, settling lightly on repulsors to come to a stop some hundred meters distant from the Libs and yet facing them. It was a mutual standoff with the middle ground between the two parties being well within the firing range and scope of all vessels present. From the shuttle emerged Phen Varak, dressed in his traditional spacer garb, scruffy and sporting a blaster pistol at his hip and a slung blaster rifle across his back. In front and to either side of him marched a single B2 battle droid and behind to either side, an IG1000 MagnaGuard from Shiva's personal retinue. Varak approached the center of the field and stopped, waiting for the Libs to come to the middle ground.

| The lady shook her head to Jules, "No, I wasn't able to find anything on the guy that contacted us. Which makes meeting the Separatists all the creepier. Keep your eyes open." She would warn her friend, as she walked down the ramp. The soldiers would point their rifles left and right, ensuring that there was nothing that would interrupt their meeting with the Separatists. They would then point the rifles up at the air when another Theta would approach in a much more threatening manner. However, the soldiers didn't fire. They were sure it was a property of the Separatists.
Once the ramp opened up, it would confirm to the Libs that the shuttle actually carried Separatists. A team of droids would be escorting a man, no doubt the very same Lieutenant that was sent by the guy that wanted to forge an alliance. They would approach the center of the field and stop. This was an indication that the meeting were to be taken place at that particular location. The soldiers continued to point their rifles left and right, ensuring the safety of both Mika's and Jules'. The party would move up to the center of the field.
Of course, Mika would be the first one to speak out. "You must be the Lieutenant. I'm sorry for all the extra security. My leader warned me about the Separatists. He's a veteran of the Clone Wars, on the Republic side. Surely, you understand his caution. After all, it isn't easy to make amends with old enemies, is it? Despite all this, my leader is surprised the Separatists are interested in forming an alliance with the Libs."

| "Lieutenant? Not so much as ranks go. I never served in the Republic and I sure as hell never served with the Confederacy."
Varak's grin was almost a leer as he eyed Mika before finally meeting her eyes. "So you're leader was surprised. Why is that? The Libs don't want the Empire any more than the Separatists do. There's a bounty on all our heads so my boss decided it might be good to pool forces. Your group puts out a lot of overtures to people it seems; we keep track. We've even recruited a pair of Jedi for our side.
"As for the boss, the Lightbringer as he calls himself now, he's always open to aiding other groups and uniting them under a common banner. Out here on the Rim, we're more free of the Empire. Unless of course you happen to land in an Imperial controlled system. So, presuming your boss doesn't want to be seen, I'll assume the first order of business is to keep both our leaders faceless. Now, what do the Libs want?"

| "The same thing your boss probably wants." Jules finally spoke up. "Freedom from the Empire." It was simple enough. "But we don't have the firepower to do it alone. Sure, there are pockets of rebels popping up everywhere around the galaxy, but no one has enough to do any significant damage." She cast a sidelong glance to Mika before she looked back to the Separatist representative.
"What does the Lightbringer want in exchange for the help?" She was sure that Mika would have the exact details of what the Leader wanted. Her employer, after all, wasn't really one to make those kind of plans.

| Varak eyed Jules now; the leer of a plain spacer, for that's what Varak had been before joining on with Shiva. Varak was cunning and ruthless but had not the backing to apply those talents properly. Despite his lack of manners, he was an apt speaker at times as well. "Freedom from the Empire is one thing. It's what comes afterwards that matters. The Lightbringer would like a sector of his own, where he could run a system apart from whatever government will supplant the Empire. He had no use for the Republic and once the Confederacy fell, he had no use for it either.
"It seems you have the firepower to do small things. The Lightbringer has a large base of operations, a steady income... and enough firepower to take on at least two Star Destroyers, as well as the backing of a droid army." Varak did not feel the need to add that Shiva was also working through mercenary and pirate groups as fodder. "So in exchange, once all this is done and over, he wants his own place where he will be left alone to run things, or to be a member of a larger group if he chooses. He wants his own freedom."

| The lady nodded out of agreement with Jules, she figured she would have spoken the same thing. Then she kept her eyes locked on the man. The fact that the Separatist leader requested he runs a system of his own choosing tells Mika the Libs seems to be the frontrunner of the resistance groups throughout the galaxy. They must be doing something right, the lady thought to herself. She continued to study the man for a moment before speaking.
"I am sure that is completely fine, because crimes against the Galactic Empire would most likely be eradicated once a new government is put in place...eventually. So it's completely do-able." The lady grinned when the Lieutenant spoke of what the Lightbringer could offer. "That's rather impressive. I do believe that if we pool our resources, we'd be able to inflict more damage. However, I do not mean to offend you when I am about to say this." She cleared her throat for a moment before speaking once again. "The Clone Wars already proved the clones/stormtroopers were superior to your battle droids. How does your leader hope to defeat the Empire with a droid army?"
Mika crossed her arms, "Oh, before we go into more intense negotiation, my leader would like to know one thing and do not take it as an offense. He was a veteran on the Republic side of the Clone Wars, as I had mentioned earlier. He told me of numerous atrocities the Separatists had unleashed during the Clone Wars. Would we expect the same thing to happen again this time around? Are the same tactics going to be employed? The Libs has a zero tolerance policy for harming the innocents, unlike the Empire."

| Varak glanced back at Mika and shook his head slightly, amused at her words.
"The Clones were only superior in some cases, and largely because of Jedi backing. Don't you follow the Coruscant news? The clones are being phased out. Instead of men who were bred for battle, they're only trained for it now days. We have proof that a group of small craft; several freighters and snubfighters, can even nearly destroy a Star Destroyer. It happened at Kamino with some of our agents. More than likely the Empire hushed it up and it happened again nearly at Alurion. There's a free bit of advice. Try it the next time you can corner a Star Destroyer alone and keep it's fighters busy.
"As for what must be done... you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, lady. We do what we can for the most part to keep civilian casualties down, but if civilians openly support the Empire and mean it... well, if they get caught in a blast, they're only traitors to freedom-loving people everywhere."

| "If they raised arms against you, that would be one thing, but killing unarmed civilians is what we mean." It didn't matter to Jules if they supported the Empire or not. If they were unarmed and did nothing wrong, she didn't want them killed for no reason. "Does that make more sense?" She asked as she shifted her weight and shot another glance to Mika. They thought alot alike, lucky for both of their employers. And they both knew what their employers wanted, to a T.
"Right, Mika?" She asked, reassuring herself.

| "Sometimes things happen, ladies. We're trying to fight an oppressive government here, not hold everyone's hands and sings songs around the glow lamp. You recall Talri Nikani? Yeah, we had some dealings with him in brief. He went and blew up a bunch of civilians and got himself a nice firing squad for it. We haven't stayed alive by slaughtering civvies." Varak made no mention of the failed hijacking of the passenger liner that had resulted in a large number of civilian deaths.
"So there you have it; our best word that we won't hurt any of the nice people who don't try to shoot us or stab us."

| She nodded at Jules, and then shifted her attention back toward the man. "As long as the Separatists are trying their best to keep the civilian casualties down, we're okay with it. Just remember, we're resistance groups fighting for freedom and justice in this galaxy. We aren't terrorists. It's a lot easier to recruit people to our cause if we aren't blowing up a medical center or something like that." Her leader did admit that it would also benefit the Libs to ally with a Separatist faction. For one, they have experience fighting the Empire.
She'd let a light sigh escape her mouth, "Okay, we agree to your terms. Do you have anything to add?"

| "Yeah... one final thing. We help pick the targets. We work with you, but we work on our own as well. We're hitting Imperial forces at Telos IV within the week, ideally. We need ships; if you have agents who can infiltrate or steal some, all the better. Cruisers mostly is what we need; we can't crew a Star Destroyer yet. Do you want in on our raid?"

| Mika looked at Jules for a moment, before looking back at the man. "Telos IV? Sounds like a good place to hit. I'll have to check with the man himself first, but I am certain he will give the OK. How many warships do you need? Specifically, is there any preferences as to the model? Let me clarify this, though. It sounded to me like you wanted us to hand you a few warships. If you prefer, we could come up with warships to match up with yours. I'm sure it'd be easier to pool our resources for the upcoming battle."
