| The crew would wait for the pilot from the other shuttle to show up, and he did that a few moments later. The Senator would also inform the Alpha Squadron that their current assignment's over and that they were to go to Jabiim. Felucia was a bad choice at the moment, it was a little too after Baron Park captured one of his allies in Vil Haran. The Alpha Squadron woud have already taken off by then. Since there was already a pilot aboard, he'd let the guy fly the shuttle instead of himself like he had usually done.
The reason why he did this, was because he could tell Jalaila was upset. The Telosian would have to take the time and talk to her. The shuttle''s engines got turned on by one of the bodyguards, just as the pilot took the seat right before it would take off. He'd order the pilot to push the shuttle's speed to maximum. Tremaine wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. That was his standard procedures when it comes to making deals as a rebel leader. He also told the pilot to set the coordinates to Altair 9, where the pilot could get on a transport to somewhere else. Tremaine would make sure the pilot would go under an alias and that the guy rides on a refugee transport.
This stop would be very brief, because they were scheduled to meet with Senator Kuriyoshi at the Cronese Mandate. While this was all happening, the Senator would walk into the quarters. He'd see Jalaila settle down, "Hey, sorry about that. It wasn't the right time or place to talk about it. I needed Baird to be ready for combat as soon as possible."

| "This isn't a whole lot of fun for me, Tremaine. I hope you know that." She murmured as she leaned down and slipped her slingback heels off. "And you just had a chance...." She sighed and looked away for a moment. "Were you afraid to let me talk to him? Afraid to let him know what I am? What I was...or still am or.....whatever." Jalaila didn't even know anymore. She wasn't sure what she was doing anymore.

| Tremaine simply chuckled at what Jalaila had said to him a moment before, "That isn't it at all, Jalaila. I just wanted him to get out of there as soon as possible. Besides, Baird didn't seem forthcoming anyway. You could try, but I know his type. It's gonna be hard to get anything out of him." The Senator walked over to her, sitting down next to her. "To be honest with you, you should be glad I didn't tell him what you were. He probably would have shot you. Plus, it isn't his job to prove what the Empire really are to you. It's mine, understand? If you're still interested, I'll be glad to talk to you about what happened back then." He was referring to the Black Powder Pistol that Baird tossed to him.

| Jaliala shook her head a little and pushed her shoes aside. "Sure, tell me...." She wasn't convinced that it would change her mind, or that anything he could say would change her mind. Maybe it would. There was something about the place that they had stopped previously that was still bothering her, but she would listen to him anyway, and see what he had to say about the Clone Wars.

| "Well, you know how the Clone Wars is. A lot of intense battles where thousands and thousands of clones and battle droids poured in. It was one of those battles. A detachment of the Republican non-clone forces, along with the local militia, were sent in to reinforce the clones, to help prevent the Republic base from being overrun. Baird was one of those special forces guys. I was just a soldier. The base was in the thick of the jungle, so there were shootings and bombings everywhere." The Senator's composure would begin to change, showing that he was starting to get uncomfortable. He'd let out a heavy sigh, before speaking once again.
"We were losing clone troopers. The droids were gaining the upper hand on us, they had the numerical advantage. Eventually, most of the clones died and it were up to my men and the local guys to fend them off. It wasn't looking good at all. A gunship carrying a team of Jedi Knights were supposed to help us hold them off until a battalion of clones would arrive. It was shot down by one of the Separatist anti-air batteries. Nobody in that gunship survived." The Senator would look down at the ground for one long moment. The memory was becoming more realistic by the moment.
"Everyone around me was dying, until all that left was me. I was about to get overrun. It didn't help when a mortar shell hit a spot not far from me, so it sent me flying back several feet. I was pinned on the ground. A squad of B2 Battle Droids was about to fire at me when Baird and his guys came in blazing. The droids didn't stand a chance. We didn't win that battle, but at that moment, Baird held his ground so I could get to safety. His men did it so the rest of the Republic forces could evacuate. After the mortar shell hit me, that pistol must have fallen out of my pocket." The Senator decided to pause for a moment, looking at Jalaila.
"The clones may have been bred for combat, but they wouldn't do what Baird had done. He jumped into the very same area when it was about to be overrun, and saved a life of someone he didn't really know. That shows you the kind of character he is. Most of the soldiers in the Empire wouldn't do that." Jalaila would be able to see that Tremaine was truly sincere the way he looked at her.

| Jaliala didn't say anything for a few minutes after he finished speaking. She wasn't sure what to say right away. He had just pretty much poured his heart out to her, and while she cared, she wasn't sure it was enough to change her mind. And she knew if she said anything, he would get upset about it.
"Well....that was very brave of him. I guess I am lucky he did that." She finally said after she cleared her throat a little. "It must have been terrible for you, Tremaine. Facing death like that. But...you knew it might happen when you signed up, I am sure." She wasn't trying to be cruel about it, it was just a fact. Soldiers died in wars, but that's why the clones were created, so she thought.
The young woman sighed and pushed her fingers through her honey hued locks before she caught Tremaine's gaze. "And.....the lesson of this story was that....good men could be rebels?" She asked hesitantly. "Like him....and you?"
"Though....you are much cleaner...."

| The Senator would continue to look at Jalaila, staring at her eyes. Tilting his head a little bit, "Yeah, I fully knew that when I had signed up in the first place. I was just saying that I would probably have died if he didn't come and save me." Tremaine got up, and walked over to the nearby wall. He would lean his back against the wall, "Yes, the point of the story was that good people could be rebels and sinister ones could be working for the Empire." Then the Telosian chuckled lightly when she mentioned Baird's persona hygiene.
"I'm a Senator. I'm supposed to be clean. However, if I was still a soldier as Baird is, I would probably be as dirty as he is. As a soldier, you will always have all kinds of stuffs on you."

| "Well...I am glad I didn't get any closer." She said after he finished talking about Baird. "And I am glad he saved you." Jaliala said softly. He was starting to break her resolve, and she was starting to understand.
"I do have something to say about that though, Tremaine." She started, and paused. "I....work for the Empire. I'm not sinister....or evil...."

| Tremaine nodded at Jalaila, "You're right. You aren't sinister or evil, but you should see people like Governor Oswaldt and Moff Brandt. Oswaldt's a douchebag and Brandt likes to snoop his nose into everything. What about the Emperor himself? He's a Sith Lord, so he's fully capable of committing atrocities. Ohh...what about Baron Park? He wasn't honorable in his capture of a Mandalorian. Do you really want those people to be the ones keeping the galaxy in check?"
He would stop talking, waiting to see how Jalaila would react to this.

| Jaliala said nothing as he spoke, and then she said nothing for several moments afterwards. There was really nothing for her to say, she understood what he was telling her, and she was still on the edge of knowing whether to believe him or not. She was leaning towards believing him, but she wasn't ready to say it just yet.
Instead, she changed the subject, but Tremaine would have known just by her demeanor that she was changing her mind. "So where are we heading now?"

| The Telosian would notice the change in her demeanor, of course. He wasn't going to push her on the subject. If he had done that, he would unwind all the things he had done to prove to her. Tremaine would be a hypocrite, because that's what the Empire do. "We're going to the Cronese Mandate to meet with Senator Kuriyoshi." The next moment, he'd felt a push. The Senator got off the wall and got onto the bed next to Jalaila. That was the effects of entering into hyperspace.
