Now, while Tarrington's fleet did need to refuel, they did not absolutely have to do so at Telos IV, which was rapidly appearing to become an unfriendly place, and Tarrington, no small spacehand, knew a goodly amount of shadowports where his coin would be welcome. Nonetheless, while he underwent his next idea, he could not help snubbing the Ralltiirian captain slightly. Opening a channel, he hailed the much larger Clement.

"Captain, a fine day this is! Do give our regards to Senator Fitzgerald when you see him next." Instead of continuing on the diagonal vector that would allow them entry to Telos IV, the entire flight of ships engaged full engine power as they arced away from the thin final edge of the planet's gravity well. Hyperspace coordinates were quickly punched in and, barring any interruptions, the small flotilla would leap to hyperspace, hopefully before the Ralltiir missile cruiser knew their plan.

Captain Martin would listen to the Captain of Clement explaining the situation behind their arrival. The TSF never liked unexpected arrivals, especially after the attack, but at least it had been a friendly vessel that had done so. By the time the guy had explained Martin about Lieutenant Tarrington being one of the suspected slavers, the group would break off the atmosphere and went to attempt and enter into hyperspace. This came as a coincidence when a group of runaway slaves had fled to Telos IV. Perhaps they were tracking the Action III transport all the way to this particular system. Whatever their intentions was, it didn't matter when they decided not to continue their descent to the Telosian surface.

In meantime, Captain Mann, along with several TSF escorts, would be standing by for the arrival of the slaves. By the time the slaves had arrived, Senator Fowlkes had already forwarded the list of slaves over to the head of the TSF. Instead of sending them over to Senator Ordan right away, the Telosian Senator wanted Mann to investigate whether the crimes the slaves had committed were true. Ordan had mentioned that slavery were punishment for those men and women. Because Senator Fowlkes, along with Telosian laws, does not practice slavery, he wanted to see if he could free those slaves...pending the crimes were falsely accused of.

Captain Mann awaited for Mr. Brandrith's arrival, and voiced out in a gruff tone. "I am Captain Mann, of Telosian Security Forces. You and your people are not in trouble, but we have to take you in for your own safety. Cooperate, and we will guarantee your safety."

To be honest, Captain Romes of the Clement hadn't found it terribly likely that Rhygar's slavers would put into port on an anti-slaving world that had been notified of their presence, and he wasn't particularly surprised to see them assume a quick escape vector. Unhurried, and unmoved by the transmission from the slavers, Romes would order the Clement to proceed with its refueling and, in 30 to 60 minutes, the cruiser resumed its pursuit. It would continue to use a combination of hyperspace vectors, witness testimony, and trails of abducted persons and broken families to eventually catch up to Tarrington and his ships. For now, time was on Ralltiir's side, but ultimately the Ralltiiris were determined to find Rhygar's base of operations before he could deliver his slaves to the Orvax IV slave market in some months time.

Eli Fitzgerald
Senator of Ralltiir (10 BBY—Present)
