| The darkness had been loomed over. A feeling of an empty space had ensued. There was completely nothing for the time being. All of sudden, something had begun to appear. Something vague, but familiar.
The Inquisitor was running down an alleyway on the Imperial Center, and fell onto the ground out cold from a shockstun.
Then it was transformed into several different images. Several different actions of Animus as a Padawan and as an Acolyte during the Clone Wars would be displayed in numerous brief, flashing images. As well as an Inquisitor the past decade.
"Inquisitor Animus, how you have recently gone about this on Chandrila is not to be admired, or advised."
"In terms of leads, we suspect there might be something worth investigating on Tatooine, an insignificant world in the Arkanis Sector that might just be hiding one or more Jedi.Good luck, Inquisitor. I know you will not disappoint us again."
An image of Grand Vizier Pestage had appeared, uttering the words.
"You have been betrayed."
His best friend and a former Dark Acolyte showed up as an image himself.
"Trevor Fenn, I always said you'd never make a good Jedi. I was right."
"No, He dies today."
"I told them you'd never make Knight, and you're not much of a Sith, either."
"Pathetic."
An image of a seventy years old Jedi had appeared, followed by a spiteful laugh being played over and over again. Then the cutting of his mechanical arm had been shown, over and over again in coordination efforts.
Almost right away, the image of Master Kane had disappeared and an overhead of Mos Eisley would be shown. The city suddenly became smaller and smaller, until the planet of Tatooine was in sight. Everything was getting faster and faster, Tatooine moving further away and moving really fast past each planet and moon within the Tatoo system. The system getting smaller until Arkanis Sector would be seen, and then the Outer Rim, and then the galaxy itself with a bright center obviously showing.
Lastly, the galaxy became small. Thousands and thousands of stars went whizzing by, constantly moving and moving like it was endless. After a couple of seconds of feeling like floating in space, everything came to a halt. The deceased Jedi Master of Animus's had appeared, and spoke three words he hated the most. "You are alone."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything went right into the blackness right before the Inquisitor woke up, letting a sudden gasp escape his lips. A set of panting would follow, and there was a feeling of sweat on his forehead. A nurse was checking up on him the moment the young man had awoken. "It's alright, you're safe." A friendly tone carried over to his ears. "Um...how long was I-" Before he had a chance to finish, the nurse interrupted and told him he had slept for a day and a half.
The nurse left, and Animus would see that the place where his cybernetic arm used to be hasn't been replaced. Which means he'd be an one-armed dark jedi for the time being. He also noticed that the upper part of his body was naked, and filled with all kinds of patches along with wrappers covering the severed arm completely. While he was safe, he'd still look beaten up. The dark jedi leaned his head against the soft pillow, before looking around room slowly to see if anyone else was in it. He had felt really exhausted, but wasn't in mood to go right back to sleep...at least not yet.
((OOC: This is a personal thread between Animus and Mira...then later, Rath Deschain and possibly Palpatine himself.))

| Mira was there. She had left only once and only for an hour or so to clean up and change. As the nurse worked, she heard Animus speak and the nurse reply. But she didn't move from her spot at the window. The agent was looking down at the squadron that she had stationed in the parking lot. They were just patrolling, and there were some in the halls as well....just in case the Jedi returned.
Once the nurse was gone, she waited a few moments before she turned around. "You scared me. Scared the hell out of me, actually." Mira moved away from the window and over to the hospital bed. "I don't scare easily, you know that." Idly, she reached behind his head and fluffed the pillow up, which was very out of character for her. When it came to him, things were different though.
"Remember that time that I got shot? It freaked you out." She said. Not that him getting beat unconscious by a Jedi was some sort of pay back, but she was just trying to make him understand how she felt. He would, very likely, be able to sense it anyway. Finally, Mira just sat on the edge of the bed. "And he got away....I'm sorry....they did, actually." There was nothing she or any squadron of troopers could have done.

| The window was the last place he'd look. By the time he turned his head to look at the window, he heard a voice. It startled him a little bit for a moment, but relaxed right after that due to the degree of familiarity in the voice. He could have detected her through the Force if he had decided to use it. The dark jedi would look up at the beautiful lady, but didn't say anything. Animus was still a little out of it, and had wrapped the defeat in his mind. This time it was in his mind with his waking eyes.
He tried to shake it off, and smiled lightly at the ISB agent. When she had fluffed his pillow, he would lean his head back onto it. This time, he was able to use the Force to sense the lady's emotions. The Inquisitor had understood her completely, he indeed had felt the same thing when she had been shot a couple of years back. They cares the hell a lot about each other, and it doesn't make things any easier when they're in a secret relationship. Something that the Inquisitorus and the dark side itself frowns upon.
The Inquisitor closed his eyes a little bit, but not all the way so he would be able to see Mira and she would be able to see his eyes. "Yeah, I know. Thanks for being here with me." Animus opened his lips a little bit to let out light exhales. The anger had risen inside him, at the fact that the Jedi had escaped. However, he wasn't in a condition to do anything. At least not yet. Thus he remained in the same position, "They? There was more than one?" He went to look up at the ceiling, "He'll pay for what he had done to me. I will not rest until I find him, I promise you."

| Mira nodded. "I didn't see, I just heard reports of two, is all." She said as she shook her head. "And you are not doing anything any time soon. Not even with your accelerated force healing or whatever it is...." The agent didn't understand this mysterious force, nor did she care to. It was his thing and she just left him to believe in it. It wasn't that she didn't believe, it was that she didn't really want to know.
"For now....what can I do for you?" She asked as she shifted her weight slightly.

| A grunt would be heard, as Animus tries to sit up with just an arm. "You know, I can just be as stubborn as you are. But since you are one beautiful lady and I...uh..." He paused for a moment, wanting to say something he had wanted to in a long time. The Inquisitor couldn't come up with the words, "Yeah, I'll let you win this one." He chuckled lightly. Once she had asked what she could do for the dark jedi, he couldn't help but stare at her for one long moment. It clearly showed he was still traumatized from the beatings.
"Uh...I don't know." The man tilted his head lightly and looked toward the floor and then to the wall for a moment. "I guess you can just stay here with me for a while."

| Mira watched him carefully as he tried to sit up, and instinctively she reached out to help him. "Yeah, why don't you just lay there for a while and rest, instead of trying to sit up." She said as she helped ease him back down against the pillows. "You're going to be fine in a few days...." She said as she checked under one of the patches. He was pretty banged up, covered in bruises and there were some gashes in his skin.
"Back to your old, evil self." She joked as she settled back down on the edge of the bed next to him.

| "I'm hurt, not dead. I will be fine if I sit up." The expressions on the dark jedi's face would clearly show some duress. The dreams he had prior to waking up had shaken him up a little bit. He turned his attention back to Mira, looking at her in the eyes. That was the moment he thought up of something. "Mira, why did they send you to watch me? Someone from the Inquisitorus should have kept some tabs on me instead of you." The dreams clearly was affecting him at this moment, thinking that the Empire may have a hand in his most recent defeat.

| His question surprised her, to say the least. She had to think about it for several moments so that she could try and remember if there were any hints dropped as to why she had been sent, particularly, to keep an eye on the Inquisitor.
"I don't know. Maybe because we had worked together before?" It was more of a question than a statement. She really didn't have any clue. "Why do you ask?" Mira asked a moment later. "Is something wrong?"
She wasn't very good at sitting idle, and as she waited for his response, she was fidgeting with the edge of his blanket, and smoothing the woven fabric on the edge of his bed.

| His eyes never even left Mira's, crossing his arms. Animus would let out a light sigh, the nightmare continues to linger inside his mind. "Yeah, I think I was sent here to die." If the agent had studied his eyes closely, she would see that there were anger and doubts thrown in the mix. "Why else would the Grand Vizier condemn my actions and then send me here to hunt for the Jedi? It just seemed convenient." His tone was firm, raspy. It had just occurred to him that Mira might be involved in this scheme. Maybe it wasn't wise to tell her so.
Then again, if she was involved in any way, she would have left him to die. No, she couldn't have betrayed Animus. Especially after everything they had gone through together. Animus never felt more vulnerable than the moment when the Jedi had beaten him pretty badly, but he wasn't going to tell anyone he felt this way. "I don't trust them."

| Mira shook her head. "No....you shouldn't trust Jedi. I am unsure why you even said that....you know that already." She said, furrowing her brow as she spoke the words. "And as soon as you are well, we will deal with them all. Alright?" She said as she leaned forward and put another pillow behind him to support him. Of course, she didn't know that he was referring to the Inquisitorious.
"And you will be fine. Soon enough." Mira pulled herself to her feet and smoothed her pencil skirt over her thighs idly. "I can go and get you something to eat, if you want. Ice cream or something? That's what people getting better should have, I think." It was more than obvious that she was uncomfortable.

| The Inquisitor snarled at Mira, "I don't trust the Jedi, but I wasn't talking about them." He locked a gaze upon her eyes. "I'm talking about the Inquisitorus, and the Grand Vizier's involved in this. I feel betrayed." Animus decided to slide a little bit so he could lay down and rest his head against the pillow. "I have never felt as alone as I am right now. I don't trust the Jedi. I don't trust the Empire and the Inquisitors. You're the only person I trust right now." The dark jedi was definitely getting paranoid right now, but it's perfectly understandable given the circumstances.
Animus shook his head at the Imperial Agent, "No thanks. I'm not hungry."

| Mira cleared her throat after he was done talking. It was difficult to hear him say those things, especially considering what they both did. She was incredibly dedicated to her job and she happened to love what she did, so she thought.
"I am going to get you some ice cream. You don't have to be hungry for that." She said as she turned on her stilletto heel and left the room. The brief interlude would give her a moment to collect her thoughts. Mira hadn't heard him say anything like that before, not against the Empire.
It would take her a while before she went back, but eventually she walked back into the room with a sundae and sat it on his hospital tray. "I think that....you're just upset, Animus. Understandably. And I am sorry that I was unable to get there in time. But it's going to be alright."

| The dark jedi would let out a loud sigh when Agent Naeva left the room to get him ice cream. She was stubborn, indeed. But she did it because she cares about him. He never really trust the Empire and the Inquisitors to begin with, but he joined them because it was a beneficial relationship for both sides. The Empire would have a valuable asset and Animus would have a chance to kill the Jedi over and over again. Because she cares about him, he wouldn't have killed her for being stubborn. Yes, Animus can get that vain.
He'd witness Mira coming back, and bringing a sundae to him. The Inquisitor wasn't in mood to eat it, especially in his condition. "Damn straight. I'm upset. I'm upset that I may have been betrayed. I'm upset that the Jedi had escaped. Most of all, I'm upset that because the Jedi escaped, it goes to show the Empire aren't invincible."

| Mira sighed as he started in again as soon as she walked back into the room. She sat the sundae on the tray and sat down on the hospital bed next to him. "No....the Empire is not invincible. Not as a whole, and not us as individuals...." She murmured. There was enough room that she leaned back against the part of the bed that was lifted to support him sitting up.
"I think you will feel better once you are out of here." She said as she reached for the tray and took a bite of the ice cream herself. "Just somewhere else with a few days to heal on your own. Maybe tomorrow?" Mira asked before she took another bite of ice cream, and then offered him one.

| The dark jedi would scoot over a little bit, to allow his favorite woman to lay next to him. He tilted his head and looked at the Agent, staring into Mira's beautiful eyes. "You're the first Imperial that have said those words. At least in front of me, anyway." Then he looked away, looking at the white wall randomly before letting out a soft chuckle. "Everyone that works for them sure are convinced that the Empire would last forever, that no one can defeat them." Animus would put himself into a more serious mood.
"Nope, can't do that. I've been contacted by a High Inquisitor, and he have requested my presence on the Imperial Center." He spoke just as the Agent offered him a scoop of ice cream. The young man shook his head, not wanting the ice cream mainly because he wasn't hungry and was too angry to eat anyway. "But before I leave for the Imperial Center, my love, I need to know one thing." The dark jedi kept himself silent for a moment, staring into her eyes to display the level of seriousness.
"I have a top-secret formula. Nobody knows about it yet, and it was supposed to bolster the effectiveness of the Empire. But now that I've been betrayed...it's gonna be used to put myself in position to rule the galaxy someday. Are you in?" He fully expected the question to give Mira a hard time, and he would want nothing more than to have her at his side. Betraying the Empire wouldn't be as easy of a task for Mira as it would be for Animus. The dark jedi had betrayed the Jedi and the Republic. Then he betrayed the Separatists in turn. He can do it to the Empire.
