| ((Set after A Dinner on Llord and Playing the Stage))
The sleek red exterior of the Star Petal cut through the dark vestiges of space as Senator volFyr and her personal staff made the hyperspace trip to the Outer Rim, to visit the recently conspicuous world of Dantooine. Her staff was missing two of its former members, namely Prince Raphael Damar and Captain Tiyr, both of whom were now with the Empress Teta Sector Fleet, protecting the system from piracy, rogue worlds and smugglers. As Avadrie sat in her personal quarters aboard the ship located within the salon pod of the Consular class cruiser, she smiled as she thought of the high places she had managed to put two of her staff members into. It always paid to have friends in high places, that was a general rule of things. And since she had the long term plan of replacing the current Tetan dynasty with herself at some point, it would suit her purposes nicely to have those in command of the local sector fleet in her back pocket.
However, as in everything else in life - timing is everything, and the time wasn't right. She wasn't sure how it would be received in the Empire as a whole were her intended coup to occur anytime soon; and there were parts of her that still held doubts about it all - and after all, to whom would the average Tetan be loyal to? His King or the young, beautiful Senator? Again, timing was everything. Soon enough King Leonard's downfall would come - and a woman would once again sit atop the Empress Teta system and sector..just not yet. There was the general discrimination against women prevalent in the Senate - the poor example of female leadership set by the Queen of Garos IV to contend with and...she really wanted to be an EMPRESS, not a "President" or "Queen" or "Duchess"..She paused in her thoughts. Duchess. She'd read over the proposed bills brought up some time ago in the Senate to remove monarchies within the Empire - Duchess would be a satisfactory term. She allowed herself to day dream for a while longer, making the conclusion that she would also have to have a new Senator set in her place were her coup to occur...and it would behoove her to have the support of the Moff assigned to the Deep Core.
But...her current focus was on Dantooine. Oh Dantooine, she had several purposes in coming to Dantooine. The first and foremost was legitimate - it served her well, her world well, and her alma mater well to establish a satellite campus on Dantooine. If an educated base could be made on Dantooine, a trade route could be established in the Outer Rim for Empress Teta's lucrative Carbonite industry. Also, it would allow for skilled (but cheaper) labor to be purchased by Empress Teta companies, and funds would also come into the university in the form of tuition and other concessions (hopefully) from the Dantooine government. It would be beneficial for the Dantooine government to have an institute of higher learning from a Deep Core world on their planet, as well as lend more of a sophisticated air to the backwater planet.
The second was simply to meet with Administrator and Senator Exar Ray of Dantooine. She had never met him outside of the Senate, and being a firm believer in personal diplomacy, well - it served her well to establish a personal touch between herself and those she worked with (used).
And the third was highly illegitimate. She wanted to find the pirates, or rebels, or terrorists (whatever they are) that were operating off of Dantooine. Between the reports, and all the statements made in the Senate, she personally believed that there was a terrorist element operating from Dantooine, and she wanted to hire(and support) them.
The Star Petal dropped out of hyperspace just outside of Dantooine's space and the new pilot of the ship, newly promoted Commander Dent made the appropriate communications to the Dantooine space control to request permission to land on the world for the Senator of Empress Teta.

| Preparations were being made with the expected arrival of Senator volFyr, the new apparent force within the Senate. The landing bay that her shuttle was to land in had been decorated to the best that the men could establish, keeping in mind fire hazards and anything that could damage her shuttle. Such laws were present in Dantooine because they could not afford to have shuttles burning left and right. Silly yes, but Exar was cautious. A small tan rug was was rolled out to the estimated area that the landing ramp of her shuttle was to appear. In the middle of the rug, laid the Dantooine logo. A crop leaf would angle it self diagonally upwards on both the left and right of the circle, with in the middle the mountains of Dantooine, the fields, and the lakes that were throughout the planet. In the middle of the design, laid a pitchfork and a blaster rifle. In the small opening, was a golden star. On both sides of the rugs, stood Dantooine's Militia's Honor Guard. They were in their dress uniform (think WWII Airborne Dress) standing at attention, with their blaster rifles firmly resting on their right shoulders, their left hands straight down by their sides, their hands in a fist with their thumbs pointing downward. At the start of the rug, stood Exar and a few members of his staff, to include General Eel whom would give the Honor Guard their commands.
"Star Petal, this is Dantooine Landing Control. You are authorized landing clearance in Sector 9-4-foxtrox-alpha-alpha-zulu-sierra. Uploading the landing coordinates." And with that, the uploading of the coordinates would automatically put the ship in auto pilot and bring the ship to the destination.

| 'Dantooine Landing Control, this is Star Petal. Coordinates acknowledged, setting a descent vector now." Commander Dent replied to the planet based space control before keying in the commands with the newly transferred Ensign Hoit that was the new co-pilot of the Star Petal. The young Ensign keyed in several commands before looking to the Commander for confirmation that he had transposed the landing coordinates accurately, and he engaged the ships auto-pilot in carrying out the landing once the older woman had nodded.
Senator volFyr, along with Emile Llewellyn (Dandric's younger sister), who had been hired on to work part time as a handmaiden to the Senator, were putting the final touches to the Senator's hair, makeup and dress. While Dantooine wasn't the toast of galactic fashion like Empress Teta, Imperial Center or a more prominent world like Brentaal - she hardly doubted that the locals (meaning the male officials she had come to meet with) would appreciate it if she 'dolled herself up' so to speak. This was to say that her appearance for this first contact had been very carefully chosen, and was perhaps a tad bit overdressed for the agrarian world - but she'd of course packed more reasonable and travel worthy attire for later when the actual discussions took place.
It was actually the same dress she had worn when first presented to the Senate, it was simply one of her favorites from her favorite Tetan designer. As the Star Petal set down in the designated landing bay, and the entry ramp was opened and let down for the passengers to disembark, Senator volFyr would be preceded by Commander Dent and Ensign Hoit, who stood at opposite sides of the ramp before Avadrie came stepping lightly down the ramp, following slightly behind by Miss Llewellyn. Her usual intern, Dandric had remained behind on Empress Teta, continuing his work on drafting war legislation to propose in the Senate.
The dark haired young woman smiled broadly at the presentation of the Honor Guard and the delegation that had gathered to welcome her to the Outer Rim World. She approached Administer Ray, and with a dazzling runway-esque smile,
"Senator Ray! It is so good to finally meet you privately, and on such a lovely world. It is simply a gem from orbit." She gushed as she and her handmaiden offered polite curtsies.

| As the Senator and her party would exit the vessel, Exar and his staff would move up to approach them. Sure they weren't in the positioned in the Core, but that didn't mean they were retarded or un-educated. At the same time, the Honor Guard would be called to present arms and they would position their blaster rifles 3 inches away from their chests, in sync. "Indeed a pleasure, Senator." Exar would say in a calm voice before allowing the entire party to go in the opposite direction. "You'll find, Senator... that a world such as Dantooine brings it's own ideals and culture to the galaxy." His reference to the fact that most Outer Rim worlds had nothing really to offer. "What our planets enjoy are two differences; we take comfort in the accommodations that we are used to." At the end of the rug were several speeders with the tops down. "Senator, you'll ride with me, while our staff ride the others." As the parties would enter, the speeders would take off.

| Her thoughts about the Outer Rim worlds were largely held because she had after all been raised as an aristocrat on a Deep Core World, with all the luxuries and pretensions that came with such an upbringing. Of course, the very fact that she had come to Dantooine at all spoke volumes as to her current opinion of the world and the potential held by its people. Senator Ray had recently requested through the Senate to modernize his world's defenses, and so why not modernize other parts - and bring some of the sophistication (as she saw it) of the Deep Core to the Outer Rim? (Not too mention potentially lucrative agricultural imports to Empress Teta).
She slid deftly into the speeder that Senator Ray led her too, and found that Senator Ray was a man of considerable foresight and had left a thin scarf in the glove-box of the speeder for the lady to wrap her hair with to keep it from blowing wildly about while riding with the top down.
"I'm so glad that you're able to meet with me Exar, " She paused here for a moment,
"If its alright that I call you Exar of course. I'm very excited about the potential for growth between our two worlds, the meshing of cultures and greater understanding and opportunities made available to both our peoples. King Leonard of course, sends his warmest wishes."

| "The pleasure is all mine, Senator." Exar would comment as the speeder party would break away. The speeder carrying Exar and Senator volFyr would go one way, while the speeders carrying the staff would drift off into other directions. This was done as a security measure... not like there was much to be worried about, but it was also done to give them different aspects about the bounding beauty of Dantooine. "Exar is fine, Senator." His lately reply would come as they would pass a lake as the sun would glisten off of the water, followed by random natural creatures doing their daily obligations to themselves. "Growth between our two worlds might come difficult, Senator. We are not a day away from the Empress Teta system, but it is something we can get working with the right interest and motivation, Senator." The speeders would soon rejoin the main speeder as they made their way towards the somewhat towering Khoonda Administration building. It stood there, tall and basic... the way Dantooine was. As they entered the VIP section of the building that was designated for vehicles, the speeders would go down a bit then it would stop. Exiting out of his speeder first, Exar would hold the door open for Senator volFyr. "We have must to discuss Senator, and I'm sure that through our understandings, we'll draft something that we can work upon, Senator." Once everyone was ready, everyone would go into a hyperlift which would take them towards the Government Offices floor, and then proceed into the meeting room. They'd take their seats and would listen for Senator volFyr to proceed with her plan.

| She did appreciate the chivalry inherent in Exar's behavior. To be honest, she hadn't expected such civilized behavior from Dantooine, considering it was on the Outer Rim after all - she'd been raised as a lady and greatly appreciated(and expected to be) treated like one. Not being from a militaristic world she was personally greatly impressed by the presentation of the honor guard upon her arrival. She was all smiles on their trip, only interjecting once as Exar spoke,
"Please Exar, Ava is fine. Or Miss volFyr if you must." Her tone bright and cheerful.
"I do hope we'll be able to work something out." She commented as they stepped into the meeting room together, once everyone was settled and the eyes were on her (in her dazzling purple dress, her favorite!), she took a datapad that Emile had been carrying for her and looked out over the gathered group for a moment before beginning,
"I'd like to begin by first of all thanking you for your gracious welcome to your world. It truly is a sight from orbit, and I have been nothing but impressed since we made landfall." A smile here.
"The basic direction of King Leonard's desire to increase relations between our worlds is to establish a 'sister world' relationship between Empress Teta and Dantooine, for lack of a better term."
"We strongly believe that we have assets available that would greatly benefit Dantooine, as well as that Dantooine has assets that would greatly benefit Empress Teta. Your world is an agricultural one, our's is not. We are currently seeking to colonize the uninhabited worlds within our sector and we do not currently have the foodstuff imports necessary to provide for new colonies. We would like to offer Dantooine the opportunity to be the primary supplier of Empress Teta's increased demand for foodstuffs as we expand within our sector."
"We have a strong history of academic excellence on Empress Teta, through our main institution of higher learning - Koros Major University, which compares favorably with similar institutions within the Core. We would like to provide the funds and logistics necessary to establish a satellite branch of the university here on Dantooine. It would be an agriculturally focused branch along with an adult education curriculum. Being an alumnus of the university myself I would personally like to bring the quality of education I was able to receive growing up to your people. This would of course extend down to your youth, the university would very much like to reach down into your elementary level education and provide increases resources and support to your youngest age groups as well."
"In consideration of Dantooine's location in this sector of space, it of course has more of a pirate problem than Empress Teta does, located within the Deep Core and protected closely by the Deep Core Security station, we would like to invite General Eel and other members of your military leadership to visit with the newly minted command officers of the Empress Teta Sector Fleet and offer what advice and additional training in dealing with pirates and the like that they can provide. Also, Empress Teta recently incorporated a small shipyard company and as its initial R&D project would like to work in tandem with your military to develop a star fighter well suited to its necessary functions in defense of Dantooine."
She came to a stop then, glancing over each member of the Dantooine delegation in turn,
"That is our initial intentions in our relationship with your world, gentlemen. Do you have any immediate thoughts, questions or concerns?'

| Exar would sit and listen quietly to what Senator volFyr had to say. Her presentation was an interesting one at that, and Exar felt that a mutual bond could be established... with the allowance of growing pains to weed out the bad links, of course. "To address the issue of foodstuffs, sadly Dantooine already pushes out much crops to other planets as well. To announce us as your primary source of foodstuffs would be a dis-service to you as we are already harvesting crops for other major planets... not to say that Empress Teta is not a major player." He'd nod a little. "However, we can be a source of secondary foodstuffs to you if you wish it. We are a little pressed at the moment, with 5% of total crops being sent to our space station for holding, but we have enough to make modest shipments to the Empress Teta system."
"As for this university, Senator. We have no problem allowing for an offworld association to establish a presents here, however... We cannot allow for a giant building to be constructed here on Dantooine. If anything, we can allow for a modest size building of course, but anything bigger then that and we would have law suits. Many people on Dantooine own acres of land, Senator. You will have to forgive me if I take their interests to heart first. We can establish a lot for you in Garang and from there we can establish the university." An aid of his would slide over a datapad. "Here you will find our educational laws. We understand completely that your planet takes an interest, and as long as your educational standards either meets or surpasses ours, then you will be all set to go. I do not believe that such a trait should go ruined."
"General Eel, I'm sure, would be more then happy to take a shuttle with a few general officers and NCOs to visit this establishment. If he likes what he says, we will be in communication more."

The Tetan lady nodded as Exar Ray offered his initial response to the proposals she had set forth. This had indeed gone well, however as she was more diplomat than executive, she would have to take Exar's responses to King Leonard to have them ratified and for Empress Teta to act on them - but of course that was the whole reason he had sent Avadrie to the Dantooine system in the first place. (Or rather, those were the reasons she had convinced him to send her.)
"Thank you, Administrator Ray for your pleasant cooperation and patience." She smiled brightly,
"I'm sure King Leonard will be more than happy with what you've made available to us, and both Koros Major University and our Ministry of Commerce will be in touch with your government shortly to make the logistical arrangements regarding the establishment of the university and the trade in foodstuffs."
"I will also send word for Admiral Damar to prepare the ETSF and Koros Spaceworks for an official V.I.P visit, and once that has been arranged my office will contact yours to make the travel and schedule arrangements." She paused here briefly, giving a look to each member of the delegation present,
"Do you have any other questions for me?"

| Exar's staff had taken notes on what transpired in the meeting room, for future records. Looking at Avadrie, Exar would stand up after she had asked for any more questions and begun walking towards her. "Senator, it is our pleasure to be a humble host, especially in a manner that will benefit the people of Dantooine as well as the Empress Teta system, and hopefully our bond of friendship will show that Outer Rim planets are not the rejects of the galaxy." Exar said sternly, looking a everyone. Patting her on the shoulder a little, he'd return to his seat. "We have no questions at this time, though I'm sure we will have questions arising once the process starts. General Eel and his selected crew will be en route once the arrangements are made." He cleared his voice. "Now... are there any questions for me?"

| That was a question with potentially loaded answers if there ever was one, as Avadrie smiled at Exar's kind and hopeful words as she remained standing where she had delivered her proposal from.
"I don't have any further questions for you, " she said simply, before gesturing for Emile to begin collecting her presentation materials up again.
"I would like a tour of Garang, if you can have someone from your staff arrange it? I get to spend so little time sightseeing and my vessel is not scheduled to leave Dantooine for another several hours."

| A landskiff would appear outside as the good Senator suggested a tour. "I can be your guide, Senator..." Exar said as he stood up, and would escort the Senator into the skiff where it would give then the tour.

| The tour was quite lovely indeed, as the Administrator showed off the fine city of Garang. Senator volFyr fancied that as they passed through the rural capital, eyes were invariably drawn her way as her fine dress and the buzz generated by a Senator visiting the world naturally drew some attention.
Once they returned to where they had begun, Avadrie would offer Exar a polite, politically appropriate hug and kiss on the cheek (as was the fashion in Empress Teta).
"Thank you so much for your hospitality. I'll be in touch." And then without much further ado, Avadrie and her staff would be off to return to the Star Petal, (albeit, Emile was leaving with the name and memory of a cute local boy she had met while Ava was on the tour.)
