Efforts to Repeal the Deralian Chastisement Act Fail
IMPERIAL CENTER - The political fallout from the abandoned Operation ULTIMATE JUSTICE continues. The Senator of Deralia and the Tammuz Sector, Queen Deralius III, has continuously attempted to repeal the unjust Deralian Chastisement Act. Despite simple and reasonable argument by Queen Deralius II, and even contrary to many past votes and debate comments by the Senate, an attempt at outright repeal, and an even more focused attempt to remove the provision that granted Defense Committee control over the size of the Deralian Royal Navy, have both utterly failed. Although the provisional repeal saw more success, with only a majority opposed rather than a supermajority, the Senate has stuck to the thought that Deralia deserves to be punished for making a military move upon the terrorist cells based out of Dantooine and attempting to protect the government of Dantooine from said terrorists, with both points being utterly ignored; it has now, interestingly, been suggested the Deralian Royal Navy should even be downsized. The debate and voting on the provisional repeal could possibly be re-opened, but is currently closed by the Chair so that other measures may be debated and voted on. While she has not commented one way or another, most political commentators believe that Queen Deralius III had abandoned the fight against the Deralian Chastisement Act.
Caluula Defended from Cronese Invasion
CALUULA - In a move that has shocked most that observed, the Cronese Mandate has attempted to invade Caluula. In a clear move of imperialist and expansionist policy, counter to its diplomatic rhetoric, it has claimed it is all in defense, and has protested its innocence. Regardless of what the ever hypocritical Cronese government claims, Deralia, a rising leader in Outer Rim security, rose to assist the innocent and vulnerable people of Caluula, when no one else would. An unknown force of Deralian Special Forces was deployed to the surface of Caluula, to provide internal defense assistance, advising the Caluula militia in its military operations and observing the fighting, ahead of the Venator-class Star Destroyer HDMS Ops, under the command of Captain Jacinta V. Ibáñez, which arrived with a vanguard from the Auril Sector Irregulars. The HDMS Ops was able to drive off a force that has been identified as the 101st Attack Fleet, the Cronese Navy's premier offensive unit. On the surface, the Caluula militia, in a climatic finale, bombed the captured planetary legislature building, killing the bulk of the rebels on the world. It is believed a Cronese special forces unit was among the rebels and killed in the blast. At this time, some small rioting continues, and as the HDMS Ops departs Caluula to tour the region before heading into the Auril Sector for the upcoming war games, Deralia's commandos remain to assist the local government in putting down the unjustified and Cronese assisted, and probably incited, rebellion.
Deralia to Join Auril Sector War Games
DERALIA - In the coming days, a contingent of the Royal Deralian Navy will be joining detachments from the Axum Interest Protection Squadron and the Combined Defense and Merchant Fleets of Brentaal in a war games training exercise in an uninhabited system in the Auril Sector. Deralia is to provide OpFor (Opposing Force) in the exercises. Such actions are preferred over simulations by most militaries, due to the real experience gained from the exercise, with forces using stun weaponry rather than live ordnance. After the conclusion of the war games, the participants will be making a cruise of the Greater Cronese Arc and Perlemian Trade Route. While in Cronese space, the allied flotilla is to be escorted by the Cronese Mandate's 101st Attack Fleet. "We look forward to these training exercises, and hope this is the beginning of an excellent friendship with two worlds which each have a long and distinguished military history. We hope that this experience, gained from skirmishing with two of the more active Core naval forces, will help aid in training our increasingly active navy," said Command Admiral P. Septimus Octavius, Commander of the Royal Deralian Navy, of the exercises.
King Deralius XX Hospitalized
DERALIA - The details are still undetermined, however earlier in the week, King Deralius XX was rushed by a medical team out of the Royal Palace and to the Mithra Medical Center. After a full day of waiting, the Tribune, Publius Varrus Aurelius, addressed the media, announcing that the King had suffered a mild concussion from a fall in his Throne Room, and that it is believed he has suffered from exhaustion due to stress. Recently, His Majesty has faced intense foreign pressure over the aborted Operation ULTIMATE JUSTICE on Dantooine, and rumored deployment of Deralian Special Forces personnel on the world. His Majesty has emphatically denied such claims and has called upon the opposition to provide solid proof that the individuals in question were commandos of the Kingdom of Deralia. DNA testing was conducted by Dantooine which does show the men captured are indeed Deralians, however no data, markings, or clear evidence has come to light that they were Deralian commandos. King Deralius XX will stay hospitalized for seventy-two total hours, and has been assigned to two weeks of bed rest, with another two weeks to gradually undertake everyday activities. Traditionally, the Tribune would become Regent due to His Majesty's incapacity, however rule is shared with Queen Deralius III. Her Majesty has said, however, due to her duties on Imperial Center as Senator, the Tribune will in fact handle day-to-day activities.
Opinion: The Cronese Betrayal
"A few months ago, in the Imperial Senate, we saw the rise, and fall, of Zarcaine Kuriyoshi of the Cronese Mandate. Former Senator Kuriyoshi utilized a strategy of aggressive attacks upon all opposition, attempting to target the very character of each individual that even thought of opposing him. No matter how illogical his claim, no matter how logical the argument against his position. His successor has not been much different, but that is another matter; and despite our world being so far removed from the Galaxy, or at least as some would lead you to believe, I do not need to introduce or explain Zarcaine Kuriyoshi, or his career, other than by merely mentioning his name, and understanding is reached by the listener.
What is it not known, is our former Senator, Titus Veritas, the Consul-designate of our illustrious House of Lords that shall take his new position in our government at the end of the year, reached out a hand to Kuriyoshi. He sought to mentor Kuriyoshi, only to be rebuffed and insulted. Despite such offense, Veritas continued to attempt to mentor the young former Senator, until he fell to his self-induced nervous breakdown. Representative Goodchild, Kuriyoshi's 'temporary' replacement, although for former Senator Kuriyoshi to expect to be able to re-enter the Imperial Senator he must certainly be certifiable insane, was received with the same treatment. It was only former Senator Veritas' wish to improve the relations between two benevolent Outer Rim powers, or so we thought the Cronese were benevolent. When Veritas could have used the aid of the Cronese, they merely watched. This shouldn't have surprised us at all, seeing as when Deralia came under attack, they merely stood by. When Deralia was opposed for defending itself, they again, stood by. When the Senate sought to punish Deralia for defending itself, again, the Cronose stood by. When the Senate sought to enact even further punishment against Deralia for defending itself, and I doubt I need to remind any of us that the Ruling Council approved of such action, the Cronese finally came to Deralia's side, but only after half the Senate had already done so. When Deralia sought to rid itself of these unnecessary and unjust punishments... the Cronose did not stand by, they opposed Deralia. When former Senator Veritas was faced with an illogical movement to remove him from the Defense Committee, the Cronse stood by.
The Cronese did not do all wrong against Deralia; they offered to pick up Deralia's debt to Dantooine. They eventually purchased Deralia's debt when auctioned off by the Empire... only to turn around and penalize Deralia for its bidding war over the debt, and for paying over twenty times the value of the debt to Dantooine, by holding Deralia ransom to its own people in all but name. Representative Goodchild had even chastised Senator Ordan in the bidding process, stating that it was likely Ordan was going to utilize ownership of the debt to increase the debt. Yet, Representative Goodchild, Lord Robeir XXII, and the Cronese Government modified the debt owed so that it would increase by an average of 50% per day! They also included a clause in which once the Deralian 'debt' to the Cronese Mandate reached 50.25 million credits, it would be able to claim our planet as payment! That act shows the utter hypocrisy of the Cronese government and shows it's true Imperialist and tyrannical nature. And let's not mention that such an act of economic warfare is case enough to have a legitimate casus belli for war against the Cronese Mandate.
My brothers and sisters, we stand on the brink of a defining moment in our history. Not only do we have to stand against the Hutts and their constant attempts to rebuild their empire in our area of space. Not only do we have to stand against smugglers and pirate who wish to rule our sector in total anarchy. Not only do we have to be ready to face the Separatist Remnant should it attempt to strike at our beloved star system. We must now stand against one of the most serious threats to our sovereignty, to our government; the greatest threat to us as a people, as a culture - the Cronese Mandate."

CORRECTION
It was brought to our attention that information given to our agency in regards to the conclusion as Caluula was inaccurate. It appears upon the retreat of the Cronese Navy, the ethnic Cronese insurgency, known locally as Rookites, arrested the Cronese commandos, eventually using them to barter a ceasefire with government forces. After abandonment of their cause and disarmament, the Rookites were exiled to a remote area of the planet of Caluula. It was previously reported that government forces had bombed the planetary legislature that the Rookites had occupied to bring about the end of the insurgency. Deralia News Net was relying upon second-hand, local reports for the information within the story, and apologizes for the propagation of false information.
