| Tyrion Malticore was an old man at sixty-eight. Despite his age, he still had his vanity, which kept him dyeing his hair a dark brown. The position of Minister of Mining and Resources was one Malticore enjoyed greatly. He'd not served in the Clone Wars , for which he was ever thankful, working instead as a local liaison for resources within the Republic. Due to his nature and amicable personality, he'd retained his former position and even risen higher to become what he was now; Minister of Mining and Resources. With this new position, he was able to gain much larger lodging, better monies, a much nicer repulsorlimo and, in a sense, he held the keys to the kingdom for nearly every mining or resource company that wanted to be granted a tract of land with which to try and increase their fortune. In short, he was able to take a payoff from time to time to influence things the way someone might want them to turn out. Overall, though, Minister Malticore was a rather on-the-level sort.
While entitled to guards, Malticore rarely employed more than a quartet of stormtroopers to guard his residence at any time, and even those were largely because his fellow ministers insisted he might make some enemies somehow. Malticore felt that anyone slighted by his abilities to grant tracts of land would hardly be stupid enough to assault an Imperial minister, especially on Imperial Center itself where the Emperor ruled and all was in safety, minus the rare attack of sorts such as by that terrorist Nikani, who was now dead, also at the Emperor's justice. It was for this lack of fear that Tyrion went to bed on the third level of his three-level apartment with a satisfied thought that, once again, he had served the Empire fully during the day. Taking land away from local Slovonite miners and giving it to Dorvalla Universal, once the writ was signed on the morrow, that would be a nice touch. Malticore was no stranger to the news, and Moff Cole was a far better man than Moff Shirnoq, in Malticore's opinion. With any luck, having Dorvalla in the system would quell the problems there.
And so it was, now tucked in his rather large comfortable bed, Malticore went to sleep, dreaming his dreams of self-importance.

| The man who had come to Imperial Center just this night gave no thought to stormtroopers. They were simple pawns who were useful fodder for the war machine of the Empire, but alone, they were nothing, and so this man moved past them along the hall in his manner of which they didn't even see, cloaked in the Force. The way of the shadow assassin was his path, but there was no call for his target tonight to become known as an open murder. No, peace and quiet was the order of the evening; a gentle rest and send-off to an Imperial who worked well, yet could not be allowed to continue certain actions that would be detrimental to the Citadel.
Giving neither sight nor sound to any he passed by, be it sentient, holocam or droid, the dark man entered a turbolift access tube and climbed down one level to where an air access maintenance vent gave his dark purpose ease of access as he crept in the path that maintenance workers utilized to clean and repair the interior of the air passage; a passage that led with surety and eventuality to the expansive bathroom of a certain Minister of Mining and Resources. With nary a sound, though being careful in the event Minister Malticore had servants or an additional guard within his residence, the dark man stole from the bathroom and ideally to the side of the soundly-sleeping Minister. If all went well, the silent and nearly invisible prick of a needle into an artery would release the fatal dose of potassium to render the Minister into cardiac arrest. He was an older man, after all, and his heart was not as strong as it might have been.

| Malticore didn't even wake from the brief pinprick. He did not know why he was being murdered, or even that he was being murdered. The next time he would wake, briefly, was when the pain of cardiac arrest set in and by then it was too late. Tyrion Malticore managed to roll from his bed, clutching his chest, but could not stand. The thump from his frail body striking the carpeted floor would not have even carried down to where his guards awaited his exit in the morning. Shortly afterwards, he was gone. It would be more than twelve hours before his body was found, cold and lifeless.

| By the time Malticore was even found, his killer was long gone from Imperial Center. In the shuffle of his untimely demise, it was hoped that the papers allowing Dorvalla Universal access to Slovo Minor would be overlooked, for Malticore had been carefully observed since Dorvalla's interest had been shown in the Ereesus System. The stabilizing presence of Moff Cole was not one that certain parties wanted brought to bear as tensions rose on Slovo and its moon. There were far too many opportunities to be had, especially if a civil war broke out.
