| Near Acherin's space lanes, a solitary vessel, a Theta-class shuttle would emerge, far enough to be a normal transport vessel, yet close enough to initiate a scan of the system, which they would do as soon as they emerged. The craft began to warm up its hyperdrive again as soon as it entered, preparing to make a second jump. The second it received telemetry of the vessels stationed at Acherin, it would engage its hyperdrive and exit the system.

| Coincidentally, also on the space lanes close to Acherin was the Assassin-class Corvette "Kestrel" was on full alert and patrol for any such (frankly, expected) forays by pirates or rebels. It instantly jammed the sensors of the small shuttle as it appeared (being aware some seconds in advance of it's approach, and it's design being renown for raid recon was comms jammed). As it descended, the vessel's design and hyperspace signature was matched to that used in several previous raids. Two seconds later the two Quadlasers aboard opened up on the Theta-class, followed by the Dual Turbolasers.
No useful Sensor data would be gleaned, it would be lucky and have to make extreme evasive manoeuvres to escape immediate destruction.

| Visual recording sensors still would persist, if nothing else. Fortunately, as was lucky, the shuttle took a hit from the first quad laser cannons; it's shields held, but as a knee-jerk reflex, the expert pilot yanked the controls down and to the right, slamming the throttle full open in the next moment. The sudden and gut-wrenching evasive maneuver took the ship out of the line of immediate fire of the corvette, dodging its further shots for the moment. With the throttle wide open and the power funneled from cannons to engines, the ship would make further evasions, knowing it could hardly outgun the corvette. It's erratic path took it inwards towards Acherin; still more than far enough away to execute a jump, visual sensors working to pick up what they could while the smaller craft prepared it's escape.

| The two quadlasers tracked the slow fighter (bearing in mind their efficiency on the falcon in the hands of is farmboy this would be easy for the elite crew) and would continue to snap off shots blocking the communications of the shuttle so it couldn't call for help.
The Anaxes forces were behind Acherin's horizon and so visual scans would be useless, and hardly efficient as laser fire crackled around the shuttle, repeated blasts targeting it as Turbolasers filled it,s potential escape vectors with fire, so that when it dropped its shields and jumped it would end up flying directly into the curtain of turbolaser fire and be destroyed,
"Has a hyperspace signal which matches the record of the braggarts at Alurion etc. A ship with a not inconsiderable bounty for it's destruction, you're welcome to half if you want some gunnery practice" spoke the Anaxsi comms officer on a secure channel to the Brentaal ship.

| Surprisingly, the Theta-class shuttle was actually quite fast and agile, and rather decently armed for its size, which in turn meant it would not be quite so easy to track, though laser fire did splatter against its shields, causing the pilot to reinforce from the front. Knowing that they could not head directly for the planet, their path had curved down relative to Acherin itself, as well as the corvette, which, unless it altered its path to chase them, could only fire on them with its ventral turrets or side turrets that could depress that far. Naturally, the erratic flight path would be hard to track, and ever extra kilometer between them made it harder for the corvette to target them. Considering the initial distance between the two ships had been roughly eight kilometers, now increased to twelve, their main issue was waiting on the hyperdrive, which was practically warmed up. All they needed was a few more moments.

| Even if quite fast and agile it was some 1/5th slower than the Assassin-class Corvette, and equally more sluggish in it's acceleration. They were also facing an Anaxsi crew, the most efficient gunners in the galaxy, they would not only be tracked but caught up on, closing to a couple of kilometers and raining down fire as it manoeuvred and attempted to escape. Naturally the corvette made constant chase and stayed on the tail of the large shuttle, matching it move for move, there was also little way it would avoid the turbolaser and Quadlaser fire (the combined fire of a corvette against a slower shuttle could only destroy it by this point).
It should also be noted that the Theta-class was a well known vessel, it's limitations in the minds of the gunners and captains of the Anaxsi crew, wheras the Assassin-class was an elite ship, top of the line and with some of the best crew in the galaxy, better than all but the most elite crews of the Imperial Navy (as approved by request). The curving course would make little impact at this distance with regard to viewing the other forces present. As they moved on a slight angle to the shuttle, the gap closing every moment, they brought to bear all Dual turbolaser turrets and both quadlasers due to the 3d nature of space, it was easily possible to do so without losing speed.

| Whether or not the Anaxsi crew were 'the most efficient gunners in the galaxy' was a matter many could likely debate, score-wise or otherwise. Anaxian ego, however, was something nobody living could debate. Nonetheless, time had indeed run out for the shuttle, as the cavalry would, sadly, come in too late. The combined fire from the quad laser cannons and turbolasers struck the already weakened shields of the ship, causing them to collapse, followed shortly by the expanding cloud of gasses that had once been a Clone Wars-era shuttle, now nothing more than debris. It seemed that Shiva was down one of a dozen shuttles now, with (what was to him) an equally expendable crew.
However, with the first act done, the second act was yet to come into play: at the edge of the system, with their timing having been thrown off, largely due to a lack of communications from the now-defunct shuttle, a quartet of Planetary Defender Starfighters emerged, well off the shipping lanes and in a spread out formation from their jump. Unlike the shuttle, which, in a way, had given a warning of sorts by not checking in, these craft were prepared for a trap of some kind and did not simply fly a straight course, each immediately breaking off and taking a different evasive maneuver while 'pinging' the system with long-range active scanning. Considering the distance between their current position, the Assassin-class and even the much further distant Arquitens-class, it would be practically impossible to jam them at their current range.

| Fortunately, a squadron of TIE Fighters was patrolling the quadrant in question and moved to engage. An alert was sent out to the Imperial Navy in the area that a raid was underway, of one magnitude or another. The TIE/fc leading the squadron would equally project jamming beams at the fighters, alternating scrambling bursts while the other 11 TIE/In fighters moved to engage, their laser cannons flashing as they skimmed in an efficient attack pattern.

| While technically the TIE/fc did not exist until the Rebellion Era, perhaps this one was a solitary variant in an extreme testing phase that had been put on loan. Nonetheless, the Planetary Defenders were more than agile enough to combat the TIE fighters. Their patrol in question had been somewhat distant, nearly eight kilometers, which of course meant it would take them a bit of time to close to optimum firing range, which in turn gave the quartet of fighters time to turn about and begin heading out-system, warming hyperdrives and the like while jinking and evading. With the extreme distance from the planet (several hundred kilometers, if not more), the fighters would take a bit of time to get there, especially if they were just being scrambled.
It was time for the second strike as the Red Mynocks engaged one of their signature moves: all four fighters scattered to the four corners, still dumping power to engines and rear shields. Some four kilometers before the TIE attack group, a number of ships emerged: a modified JumpMaster 5000, a YZ-775, a modified Telgorn-class dropship and a modified Action VI transport, flanked on either side by six R-41 Starchasers. As per protocol, all the vessels immediately began warming their hyperdrives. It would only take moments for the pirate group to see what they were facing, but it was long enough that the TIEs would be able to scatter their formation before they were opened fire upon.

| That's an incorrect entry on wookieepedia, and il move to get it corrected. The whole point of it is to be pared to the tie Ground Target (a Pre-Rebellion equivalent to the TIE
Bomber which didn't have efficient space to space targeting).

| As Acherin was getting all the information in, the DP20 remaining at Acherin was called to proceed. Among that, from the Lucrehulk Battleship that orbited Acherin, it would launch a squadron of ARC-170s, a squadron of V-19 Starfighters, a Skipray Blastboat, as well as 10 LAAT's. The force would deploy and join the fray.
