Transporting Prisoners

It had come to pass; Commander Baird, the Jedi Havoc and Mika Jeebs of the Libs had become prisoners of High Inquisitor Deschain. The high Inquisitor, unfortunately, would be unable to escort all of them personally to Imperial Center, or in Havoc's case, Prakith, as he wished to keep them separate for their journeys and he himself had urgent business recalling him to Imperial Center. As such, still under the guise of Darius Vaughn, he met with the local garrison commander to request transport in the form of a CR-90 corvette that would hold Baird and Havoc, while Deschain, utilizing the JumpMaster 5000 Escapade that belonged to 'Vaughn,' took Mika Jeebs with him personally.

It would be the case, then, when Baird and Havoc awoke, that they'd find themselves in opposite parts of the ship; each in a stasis cage, but in Havoc's case, equipped with a neural inhibitor of sorts that would severely limit his connection to the force, as well as being pumped with powerful sedatives. Baird, not being a Force-sensitive person, was not as restrained within his little cell. Each man was watched over by a four-person security detail, whom no doubt would take pleasure in taunting their helpless opponents, especially the Jedi. After all, Jedi were upheld as pederasts and traitors, so one could only expect that younger folks growing up with such understandings would become tainted by those beliefs.

After a short while of laying in the cell unconscious, Baird slowly woke up, only to see that he had lost the fight with the force user and was now someplace only the ancient's knew were. A light growl escaped him as he stood up, and began examining the environment around him. His gaze set on a few guards standing around, they looked rather sloppy, but Baird knew imperial soldiers and if these guys were like the others he fought, they would be quick on the trigger, so even if he found a way to break free of they'd probably stun him, or if orders were given, they would even kill him. However Baird wasn't afraid of some rent a soldier's trying to act tough, he's fought tougher and taken down bigger with his bare hand's. After a short while of starring at the guard's one of them came up to the cell and looked at the commander for a short while before beginning to mock and taunt him.

"Big talk from a little man with guns and a three piss ant buddies, how about you open this cage and put the gun's down, bet I could take ya'll down. Four Versus One. Whatd'ya say to that? Bub."

A smirk formed on Baird's face as he brandished his muscles and fists at the guards. He figured if he was gonna have crap talked to him, He'd talk crap back, and possible more. however he wasn't exactly at 100% from the previous fight.

He also wondered what happened to Havoc, and how he didn't sense that Vaughn was a force user, was a small thought expanding in his mind.

Once Havoc would come to his senses from the little stunning incident at the bar, he'd open his eyes and look at the guards just watching him. Besides the heavy sedatives that were pumped into him, as well as having limited ability with his connection to the Force, Havoc was still a threat to be reckoned with. "Well, this is a treat." The Jedi would mutter looking at the guards. "A bunch of female private parts... how charming." The Jedi would mention, examining each man. "So do tell me, were your mothers street hookers or were they just stupid?" He'd play their little games of taunting the prisoner. He was more then willing to dish it out and honestly, he was going to have a lot of fun with it.

It paid to have spies here and there throughout the galaxy, and Vax's small payments had been enough to pay off this time. He'd received word that a captured Jedi, among others, was being transported from Atzerri along the Hydian Way to Coruscant. This, Vax had determined, could not and would not come to pass. As such, his vessels and small amount of soldiers were going to lay in wait along the transport ship's projected path, whereupon they would assault the transport, if it were small enough, and rescue the prisoners.

The CR-90 was scheduled to make a change in its jump at Toprawa, which was where it was currently inbound for. As they hurtled through hyperspace though, none of the guards felt any fear. Baird was incorrect in assuming the guards were sloppy, though; these were Imperial Navy troopers, and while they were not the measure of stormtroopers (depending on who one asked), and in Deschain's eyes, no match at all for his Purifiers, they were more than enough to babysit a pair of captives, even if one was a Jedi.

The sergeant over the group watching Baird simply snorted at the man's attempt to rile them up, although one of the troopers under him did begin to let his annoyance show upon his face; said trooper was young and still new, but the older and wiser sergeant laid a restraining hand on the younger man's shoulder. "Let it go, Price. Look at him; he's a washed up old man who has to try to talk a big game. Not worth too much in that cell, is he?" Directing his gaze at Baird fully, the sergeant snorted a laugh. "I'm sure you'll be dead soon, criminal. The Empire has a place for you... and it's a morgue."

The quartet in charge of Havoc were roughly the same makeup as those who oversaw Baird; three troopers and a sergeant, but they were far more watchful. "You can talk a big game, Jedi pederast, but without your lightsaber, you're just like us." That comment was from one of the troopers, and in his unknowing eyes, it was true. However, Havoc was indeed sans lightsaber, which had joined the collection at Deschain's belt that would, when all was said and done, include the lightsabers of Trevor Fenn, Jed Dexier, Camden Solis, Ka'Dek and Havoc. If anything, Deschain's notoriety against the Jedi was growing steadily with every successful kill or capture.

In this case, Havoc at least was wanted alive for the time being, so the taunting games would continue to both prisoners. It was possible that the prisoners would feel the jerk of the ship dropping out of hyperspace; they wouldn't know that they weren't quite exactly at Toprawa where they were intended to be, but on the bridge, there was some cause for alarm: the premature emergence into deep space and out of communications range with Toprawa had been caused by a rather large asteroid that had been dragged near their path along the Hydian Way and its mass shadow had pulled them back to realspace. Those on the ship did not yet suspect its sinister purpose though.

This wasn't the first time Baird was in a prison cell. He was a P.O.W during the clone wars. He was tortured, taunted and was nearly starved to death. So as the toy soldiers went on mocking him and stuff, he simply ignored all the remarks they made. None of them were true. Sure he wasn't high on the most wanted list but that's because he was planning for something much bigger. Sure he couldn't take on the High Inquisitor by himself, but then again there were few with out force enhancement capabilities that could.

"Son, it's because of guys like me you fella's got jobs. Think about it. With out me, and all those Jedi that still remain, what would guys like you be doing? Sittin' around in a office, redirecting calls an' what not now wouldn't ya?"

Baird sighed a bit then sat down, he didn't have much else to do, besides sit, sleep, and wait to see what the future held for him and whoever else was on this ship. When the ship jerked a little bit he rose an eyebrow.

"Yer pilot's drunk...

Hey. Seeing as I'm going to the 'morgue' how 'bout you go be a nice little lad and fetch me a beer or something cold to drink, go on now."

With the taunting going on, Havoc would give loud, fake, obnoxious laughter. "You guys are SO funny!!!" His voice would boom. He turned to the groups Sergeant and just smirked a little bit. "Tell you what, stumpy... I want to test your troopers remarks. If I'm worthless without my lightsaber as you four idiots are, then unhook me from this machine and give me something to counter the sedatives, and I'll test that theory. Hell, I'll even let you guys gave the fat one." His eyes shot towards the trooper that spoke. "And, if your mother wants to come entertain me, I could use a stripper... seeing as how the clowns are already here for this parade." In reference to the four man detail guarding Havoc. This was going to be a long ride, and sure he was captured, but he was going to have a good time with these troopers.

As he felt the jerk, Havoc commented. "And I'm glad to see that Imperial pilots suck at their jobs too... must be a requirement to be a high school drop out..."

It had been more luck and guidance through the Force for Vax and his soldiers that brought them across the corvette's path, and in such a manner that they were able to dredge up a nearby asteroid and coax it close enough to the spacelane. As such, when the CR-90 was abruptly pulled from hyperspace, Vax and his men were ready. The first sign the Imperials would have that things were amiss would be a volley of twenty concussion missiles that were aimed to impact about the bridge area, followed by the quick flyby of a full squadron of R-41 Starchasers hammering at the vessel with ion cannons.

Behind them followed a squadron of Y-wings, also opening fire with laser and ion cannons and in the very rear of the formation, a Starrunner-class transport that utilized its weapons as well. From the flanks, a pair of Nu-class attack shuttles came towards the corvette with the intent to dock and board once it was disabled. For now, they'd hold their distance.

"I think you can just go thirsty, Commander." The scorn in the sergeant's voice was evident as he sneered at Baird, going so far as to spit at the imprisoned man. Of course, with Baird inside the force cage, the spit dissipated against the force-field, but the gesture was still symbolic. "Come on boys, let's just ignore this piece of bantha poodoo. He's old news." Then when the ship dropped out of hyperspace, the sergeant looked uneasy for a second. "That was a little rough... Price, go out to the SOG and find out what the hell that was. We shouldn't be at Toprawa just yet."

In Havoc' cell, tempers were flaring more than they were in Baird's. "Keep my mother out of your filthy, child-touching mouth, Jedi!" The trooper's anger flared and he started forward for a moment; it was a moot point as the force cage kept them safe from Havoc, and Havoc more or less safe from physical abuse. "You probably do even worse things with your bare hands, especially to children! Thank the Emperor that your order is extinct now!" The ship shook as it exited hyperspace, and all four men stumbled slightly against the sudden deceleration. "What the hell was that?" One of the troopers muttered.

On the bridge, it was another matter as they were suddenly beset by explosions; the hapless CR-90 was raked by the full salvo of concussion missiles, having had no chance to even detect their enemy before they'd struck. Minor electrical systems failed across the ship as the shields dropped, then dropped even further as the ion cannons strafed the vessel. Futilely, the gunners tried to track the snubfighters, but were unable to do so. Their main target would be the transport; the shuttles were overlooked in the panic.

A evil laughed came from Baird's cell as the guards were told to ignore him.

"That's right dogs, follow your master's leash. Pretty sure your mother did the same thing when your father pulled the strings."

He felt the ship rattle and roll some more, he didn't know if the imperial pilot flew right into a asteroid field or if pirates were attacking. He'd hope for pirates but only time would be able to tell what was exactly going on outside this ship.

"Child-touching?" Havoc questioned as he pondered the thought.

"Must explain why daddy isn't in the picture, is he, my loyal Imperial trooper?" Feeling the rumbles of the ship, Havoc sighed.

"Your damn pilot must be touching children"

The Starchasers continued to evade the heavier, larger guns of the CR-90, harassing the injured vessel with their ion cannons, as the Y-wings, ever a threat as well, utilized the same tactic. The Starrunner transport, still attempting to the damn maneuver but larger, took a glancing blow from one of the corvette's smaller turbolaser cannons and broke off, fleeing away from the ship.

The pair of attack shuttles though, had apparently gone unnoticed. This meant when they clamped on to the hull of the ship, one towards the aft and the other on the ventral potion to begin cutting through. If this was unimpeded, both ships would pour fourth a team of thirty soldiers, well-equipped and battle-hardened to rival the Empire's stormtroopers. From one such shuttle came forth a Jedi as well; Castor Vax had come personally to rescue these prisoners and he would not let something as simple as Imperials stand in his way of freeing a fellow Jedi.

Both Baird and Havoc would have a brief moment of action; a brief moment as the ion cannons pounded the vulnerable corvette and its internal systems flickered... and then died. Their guards would be as surprised as the captives might well be, but the naval troopers were no slouch when it came to subduing people and if both men did not act quickly, they were sure to not have such a chance again. Of course, with communications down and the ship more or less dead in space, the guards would be unable to radio for help, nor could the bridge call for assistance either.

The forces cutting their way through would find little initial resistance; nobody had been tracking the shuttles in the attack, and as such, when they came on-board the corvette only scattered naval troopers and a handful of stormtroopers; part of a detachment, would be there to greet them.
