"She just flew in...and you're here. That doesn't sound quite right, does it?" Cassi said, the doubt evident in her voice. "So let's try the truth now. Where is she?" She asked again. "I really don't want to shoot you, but I will don't doubt that." She murmured as her gaze trailed over Stark. His calm made her a bit unsettled. Usually when one had a blaster Pointed at them, they were the unsettled one.

"There won't be any fetching, either. If she's there, send for someone to bring her here."

"A lot of things aren't quite right these days, miss." Stark's voice was mournful as he glanced towards the ground for a moment, though still keeping her in the peripherals. There was something he could use, after all, in this case, that would at least allow him to close with her. "The people fight in the streets and so-called academics break tradition to try and upset the government. I'm still trying to figure out who you are, though. Nonetheless, I didn't wish to bother Ana with my sadness, so I thought I'd wait here until I felt better.

"If I must call her, then I will have to use my comlink. It's tucked into a pocket on my belt." He gave the woman a disarming smile. "Might I ask what you want with my fiance? I'm rather attached to her."

"Attachment is a weakness that most men cannot afford,Stark. " She said as she reached for the commlink on her own belt with her free hand. She tossed it to him as she recentered the weapon on his chest. "or do you not know the number?" Cassi smirked and then shook her head some. "Your fiancée will be in good hands, mostly. She might make it back to you in one piece, but I really kind of doubt it."

If she truly knew Stark, she might well have known she made a mistake. The easy smile was on his face as he caught the comlink with his left hand, but his eyes, still full of amusement only a moment before were now hard and cold as she mentioned that Ana might not be returned to him. "I'll call for her right away, then." His voice was soft and with the motion of the catch, his right hand had dropped to rest against his side, striking, for a moment, what appeared to be the classical 'model' pose, judging for a moment. She couldn't have been more than ten or twelve feet away. Then he exploded into action.

Bringing the comlink up as if to call, he hurled it straight-armed at the woman's face, simultaneously dropping to his left knee, wrenching his head to the side to get it out of the line of fire while his left hand struck the activation stud on his Xythan force shield, which he did keep on him as a defensive measure. Already he was planning his next move, preparing to spring, but it was all dependent on her actions as well. He would have to move fast.

Of course she hadn't expected it to go quite so smoothly. When he hurled the commlink back at her, she managed to at least keep it from breaking her nose as she three up her free arm to block the device. Simultaneously, Cassi fired three rapid shots. The first two missed , the third deflected off of his shield. "Son of a...." She started before she re-holstered the now useless weapon.

Cassi took several steps back and unzipped her jacket . "So how long are you going to hide behind that thing? " She asked, narrowing her eyes some. He moved entirely too fast and too smoothly to be just another billionaire, and suddenly she wondered exactly what she was up against.

The Xythan force shield's power source wouldn't last forever, especially if she started shooting at him. As she stepped back, he rose and advanced, the smile no longer quite so friendly and a bit more grim. "You threaten my fiance," he growled, "Come to my world in the middle of my province and presume to dictate to me what I will and won't do?" There. Ten feet. Ten feet was enough to rush before someone could pull a weapon.

Darting forward, deactivating the force shield, Stark dropped low, almost sliding to a stop before her, hands planted on the ground and right leg coiled beneath himself as his left foot flashed outwards twice, first for her right knee and then for her stomach. From this position, he'd be able to launch an attack, dodge or even counter if need be.

Cassi grimaced when his foot connected with her knee. It was enough to drop her to the stone walkway , though the kick to the stomach was at least somewhat hampered by her coat and the vest she always wore beneath. As soon as she was on the ground, however, she grappled for and yanked tr blaster from her ankle holster.

She fired again, now that his shield was dOwn. Her aim was off because she was too hasty and half on her back on the floor. "Wasn't really a threat, Stark. Now it's kind of a promise."

Seeing her grapple for her ankle, he assumed she had a holster handy; a backup weapon, considering he'd seen her replace the first. Poor woman, she just didn't know exactly whom she was dealing with. On normal days such as this, Stark carried a reduced load of weapons: a quartet of throwing knives, his pair of vibroknucklers in a pouch, the pair of knuckle-plate vibroblades, one vibro-shiv and of course, one of his favorites, a jagged vibroknife. He rolled to the side, feeling the blaster bolt pass by him and sprung lightly to his feet and slipping back his duster (no armorweave cape this day, but a tan duster), letting it drop to the ground. Underneath, a brace of knives, the quartet to be thrown, was revealed. Snatching a pair out, he unleashed them at her fallen form, one at her weapon hand and the other at her left foot. He wanted this woman incapacitated, not dead after all.

"If you give me a name and why the hell you've come here, I might let you live."

She didn't notice the knives he pulled, as she was trying to pull herself back to her feet, though her knee was throbbing from the booted kick he had delivered earlier. Cassi felt the blade connect with her hand, nearly at the wrist, and penetrate clear through. As a reflex, she recoiled completely, the other missing, not that it could have done too much damage through her thick leather boot. The blaster clattered to the stone floor and she gritted her teeth as she gripped onto the handle of the knife and started to pull it from her flesh.

"Cassi. And I could care less if you 'let me live'." She finally retorted.

Pulling a knife out is never fun work, even in the best of circumstances. With one blaster down on the concrete, she would have been better off reaching for the other. Instead, Stark flung the jagged vibro-knife at the fallen weapon. Unless she blocked it somehow, which might cost her a hand or foot, his throw would sever barrel from body and render that blaster useless. A third throwing knife was plucked from the bracer as he seemed to flow about, weaving from her left to her right, trying to slip behind her fallen form. Oh, she might have a blaster behind her back, but she'd have to get to it, and with him trying to circle around her, she might have a harder time of that than she thought.

If he did get behind her, he'd put the knife to the base of her skull and go from there. If not, she was still a prone target and he had a damn good shot.

"Cassi, is it? And if you care less, we can end this farce right now. If you came for me," he spat, "You're a joke. House Garth wouldn't send an assassin as ill-trained as you." The goading was on purpose, designed to cost her focus.

She didn't go for the weapon, because she knew she couldn't get to it in time. And if she did, it wouldn't he useful with him behind her. Instead, she pulled the knife from her hand in a swift movement, keeping it clutched in her good hand after she did.

"House of who....?". She asked as she tried to staunch the bleeding some by curling her fingers in. "I'm not an assassin, and I sure as hell didn't want you.". Cassi said as she turned some, her gaze following him as he moved. "I told you, I was here for that skank you've been parading around in your little dog and pony show."

There was a side of Stark very few people saw, a side that had not truly been seen since the Clone Wars when, as the the Reciter, he helped purge the initial Citadel Organization. Unfortunately, this particular woman, Cassi, was bringing out well and truly enough. A feral grin this time, as Stark dropped into a crouch, feeling back in his element. She was no assassin, was she? No, Garth certainly hadn't sent her. This was something else, something new... something exciting. Insulting Ana, now, that was something Stark truly did not like, nor did he have to stand for it.

He knew she had a grip on the blade he'd pierced her with and, in the process of circling around her, managed to deftly retrieve both the jagged vibro-knife, which was tucked back into his belt and the second throwing knife which had missed. With a thin blade, the almost stiletto-like weapons were quite deadly. "You won't get Ana. Give yourself up, submit and I'll make sure, if nothing else, that the Lorrdian authorities never find out about you. Right now I could call for the police, but you know... since you've involved Miss Riley, I feel it's a bit more personal. He took two running steps towards her, a feint, for him, and though he seemed committed, to close the gap between them that quickly was likely to provoke some sort of reaction from her; one he could exploit.

She blinked slowly, steadily holding Starks gaze. His movements didn't faze her at all. "Certainly are enamoured, aren't you?" Cassi smirked and withdrew again, faltering some because of the damage to her knee. The knife was still clUtched in her hand and she thought over his offer. At least, that she could still get out of. Go back to where she had come from....but no, she wasn't sure she wanted to do that.

Finally, she flipped the blade over in her hand and held it out to him, hilt first so he could take it. "never much cared for knIves. Too messy.". Slowly, he would reach for he blaster to throw to him also.

He wasn't nearly stupid enough to accept the knife, or the blaster for that matter, from her hands directly. Originally, he'd intended to kick her full in the jaw, but he halted his momentum and slid back a pace or two, gesturing with the knife in his hand. "Toss it aside, out of reach. Your other blaster as well. Slowly, very slowly." Stark had always been a knife man, far better with a clean cut than a noisome blaster shot. A knife, as Stark knew, for being such a small tool, even kill a Jedi. That was a fight Stark never again wanted to experience.

This, though, was the intriguing part. "So I have a name. Who sent you here, Cassi? You obviously don't know who House Garth is. You here for the political issues? Or strictly for Ana Riley?"

Cassi smirked and tossed the blade aside, followed by the blaster. He was at least smart, she would give him that. But that was all. And now she knew he had a weakness, more than one, it seemed. Ana and these garath people.

"No one sent me. I work for myself." she replied, which was a standard answer. She never told anyone who she worked for, and she wasn't going to start now. Of course, as was the case with moat people, he might be able to persuade her otherwise.

"I was just going to have a little chat with her and then her boss. But now that she's a,how should I put this, kept woman, she doesn't work anymore I imagine. Well. Not in the traditional sense. ". Cassi smirked some.
