| "I wasn't feeling well." she said simply before she handed him the RSVP also. "This is why I worry about you marrying me." Ana said before she settled back again the pillows and tried to relax. She still didn't feel well, so that was making this even more unsettling.
"Not because he's not coming, as I always thought he was a bit of an arrogant prat, but....." she paused and let out a sigh. " I am not good enough."

| Reading over the response sent by Reuke Cambrist, Stark shook his head with a wry smile. "I should have expected as much from Cambrist. He's all nobility, born and raised into it on Brentaal. I fear my own views differ from his in a number of regards. I wouldn't let this get to you, my love. Granted, Jendos did mention as an aside to me that a handful of members of House Malos had expressed concerns about you lacking noble blood, but he promised me he'd keep them quiet. Most of those who complained were the same ones who objected to me refusing to become the next leader of House Malos as well. I think they may bear me a slight grudge for that.
"But it doesn't matter if outsiders don't approve. Roman Lekpin will become Representative again and I will go back to being a minor man in the great scheme of things and all that does matter is that I love you. I wouldn't let such petty comments get to you, darling."

| "The problem is that I -do- worry about it. And now that you've said that about Malos, I worry even more. Jendos may keep them silent, but they're thinking it still." Ana said with a sigh before she pulled a pillow over her head with a groan.

| Glancing over at her pillow-covered face, Stark shook his head, albeit a gesture she'd not be able to see. "Minor members of the house, my love. And there are people all through the galaxy who could likely have their own opinions on who we should both marry and why we shouldn't marry and even why we should marry. It all comes back to the old adage: opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. You and I though, we know far better than to let the opinions of small-minded people affect us in such a great manner.
"Besides, Ana, you forget that I am quite allowed to marry whom I choose. I have no need to pass on a ruling bloodline or dedication to Lorrd in the regards of rulership. The direct line of House Malos has been passed to Jendos, and while I may be the last living member who held the last name with the purest bloodline, I have laid aside my claim to the House and let Jendos become its head. Don't fret over this, my dear."

| She could see him, as she was peeking out from beneath the down pillow. "Alyn....." she murmured before she tossed the pillow aside. "It is so much easier said than done. I feel horrible that people are going to look down at you because of me and now your son too. It's just....horrible that bloodline is all that matters to these people."
Ana sighed and tried to straighten her mussed hair, and calm down some. "Beaides, we have no idea who my father is....so how do they know I'm not....whatever." she was obviously very upset and very frustrated.

| "It doesn't matter to everybody, Ana. You're worried about a very minor amount of people, and people will always find a way to detract from happy moments if they don't get what they want. As for your father, we can always perform a background investigation, hire a few detectives and people who are good at digging up facts. They could sort out his identity without too much trouble. At least now we have the option of learning who he was, and it might help give you closure in that regard."
Stark slid over to wrap an arm around her shoulder. "Bloodline doesn't matter to the everyday people of Lorrd, and it doesn't matter to you or me or our close friends either."

| Ana conceeded and nodded finally before she laid her head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry...." She finally said. Normally, he knew her to be very level headed, but her hormones were raging it seemed and for a moment, she lost that calm that she normally maintained.
"I am not sure I want to know someone who didn't want me." Ana started. "But it might be good to know....he may have not even known or....something. "

| "There's a number of possibilities, my dear. There's nothing to say he didn't want you. Perhaps as you say, he may not have known, or perhaps he was unable to make contact with you. It is always better to hope for the best at any rate; there's no need to be pessimistic. I'll make sure that I spread the word to a few people I know, see if I can find anyone connected to your mother around the months prior to your birth."

| She nodded and sighed before she finally relaxed again. "I'm sorry I was a mess about it. I wasn't feeling well already....so this didn't help. If you want to try and find my father, I wouldn't be opposed to it." Ana said softly before she retrieved her tea an took a sip. The life she had come into on Lorrd was a bit overwhelming too, she thought, and that probably wasn't helping.

| "Well then! That's one worry down!" Stretching, Stark prepared to get out of bed. "We have a big day ahead of us, you know. All of us going shopping and whatnot. That should be something nice to take your mind off of the issues at hand, that is, if you feel up to it. I can have the physician check you over again if you like?" Stark moved towards the closet to pick out his clothing for the day, prior to taking his shower. Thankfully, the castle's sensors kept the internal temperature regulated from room to room.
"Rest assured," he said over his shoulder, "We will find your father one way or another."

| Ana stayed curled up in the blankets with her cup and she watched him move. "He is already downstairs. I wanted to wait for you....and calm down first. We don't want my blood pressure too high." she said as she shifted some and sat up.
"I am not worried about it, Alyn. If we find him, we find him. If not, it doesn't matter. I have a family. "

| "True, but every person is entitled to know who their father is... even if they do not like the man. I felt, once I discovered who my father was, that I would be able to do better than him; to overcome the things he'd done. While you do have a family now, at least knowing something may put your mind at ease." He felt as if she wanted to change the subject, so he let it go. "Blood pressure is a serious thing, my dear," he stated half in jest.

| "it'll be fine, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to your son." She joked, knowin how he always corrected her when she said such things. It was still a little hard for her to wrap her mind around everything that was happening, and so fast too.
"Go shower. I already did this morning to try and help with the nausea....a big fail there. I'll get dressed and ready and we can see our doctor, alright?"

| "Our son," he said, moving to kiss her on the cheek before heading off to the shower. Once that small task was done, complete with the rest of his freshening up routine for the morning, he moved back to the bedroom and began dressing, choosing black unassuming slacks and forest-green top for the day's wear; a casual formal so to speak. "Have you made sure your friends are ready, my love?" He knew by now, the Shadowguard would be more than ready for the trip, dressed in their Sunday best so to speak.

| She was in a cobalt blue dress and heels by the time he returned and she was fussing with her soft chestnut curls to get them to lay right. She wasn't wearing any jewelry except a ring on a very important finger, which was really usually all he ever wore.
"I am sure they are. I sent Irlilia to deal with them earlier."
