A Journey to Iope

| [ This is set after the events of 'Planning a Wedding' and 'A Last Shot for a Man on the Decline.' ]
The modified C-3 passenger liner Viridian Sky passed through the dangerous routes of hyperspace, plunging through the Deep Core. On board and secured by his clearance to travel through the Deep Core, Alyn Stark browsed through an issue of the Brentaal Trade News, looking for information on the newest company to the main public scene: Doragon Kumori Technologies. Surprisingly, for the BTN carried almost all the important news concerning companies, even down to Stark's own small Vigilance Technologies, there was no word of DKT, which only served to spark Stark's interest further.
"Lord Stark, we should be dropping out of hyperspace within a few minutes." The pilot's voice was smooth over the speakers in Stark's personal quarters and Stark, relaxing in one of the plush chairs, came to his feet. "Excellent. Have my escort prepared and once we drop out, inform their central control that this is a diplomatic mission. As well, initialize all standard scanning procedures. I'm curious what the Iope System has in it in terms of planetary bodies."
As the pilot promised, the Viridian Sky transitioned smoothly from hyperspace to realspace easily. Activating the comm system, the pilot hailed along an open frequency. "Iope Control, this is private yacht Viridian Sky requesting diplomatic passage to Iope." One of the sensor operators began initiating a passive scan of the system to ensure that they did not run afoul of any other vessels in the way and that their path was clear.

| The moment the vessel dropped from hyperspace it was picked up on sensors, and it wasn't too long after their initial message that they would be given a response. "Viridian Sky, turn back at once. There is no record of such a vessel having a previously established appointment or previously established reason prior to your current claim of diplomatic passage. We also request that you stop your scanning of the system, least it be considered corporate espionage. If you would like to return to Iope we will send along the proper forms and channels for you to set up an appointment."

| The pilot of the yacht relayed the message from Iope Control back to Stark, who gave it a moment before he returned his suitable reply to the pilot to, in turn, pass on to Iope Control. The pilot of course, activated the comms and made sure they were recording from the initial transmission, which they were, and sent his reply. "Iope Control, this is an impromptu visit from an ambassadorial source, the Representative of Lorrd, to see if Iope is indeed everything it claims to be before he signs off on your world's membership within the Senate. Imperial doctrine does not disallow this activity and as a hopeful member world, it does not look good that you are turning away an ambassador.
"The current scans of the system are not intended as corporate espionage; they are standard scans to ensure our flight path crosses no stellar objects or other vessels."

| By the time the second message came through two TIE Fighters pulled alongside the yacht Viridian Sky, the two fighters remaining an equal distance away as they began to escort the yacht in. "Viridian Sky this is Aisu Tenshu of the DKT, if you are a diplomatic vessel you will remain on the set course being transmitted to you to the landing pad provided. The two TIE Fighters which I'm sure you've already picked up on your sensors will escort you in. A guard group will meet you on the landing pad to escort you to the Government building."

| The pilot relayed the message back to Stark, who once more had the following message transmitted. "Iope Control, we have spotted your pair of escorts. However... this is a C-3 liner. It's not capable of landing on any pad. Once we arrive in orbit, we'll be sending down a shuttle with the diplomatic party. We're heading to an orbital position along the coordinates you've given us. We'll be in range for shuttle launch in one-zero minutes."

| The Viridian Sky maintained an unassuming high orbit and from it launched a single Lambda-class shuttle, painted in diplomatic colors. It moved towards the surface, heading for the landing coordinates designated and no doubt escorted by the TIE fighters. When it landed, it would await the coming of the escort before opening it's chin doors and allowing six personnel to emerge. All wore well-made suits with tailored fit and they waited upon the landing pad for further instructions.

| The two TIE fighters followed the shuttle down, following it until they broke off when the shuttle took its place on the landing pad while the fighters pulled off to the docking racks until they were needed again. Standing and waiting on the landing pad where six security officers, each of them standing quietly as a seventh man stepped onto the landing pad. He walked towards the six men that had come down from the shuttle, crossing his arms. "What is it that you people want here. We told you that you were not expect and we would send you the proper forms for a proper appointment."

| The lead man, tall and rather on the skinny side, with hair that was combed slightly to one side to hide a balding patch, removed his wire-rimmed glasses for a moment, breathed on them, wiped them on a sleeve and then returned them to his face. "Greetings. My name is Aaron Timmons. I am the adjutant to Representative Alyn Stark of Lorrd. Myself and the people with me are here to view Iope firsthand, so that we may determine the truth of the words that Senator-elect Yoru Shakou has spoken in the Senate. This is quite allowed by Imperial doctrine as mentioned, and there is no need for forms.
"May we take it then, that all visitors to your world must fill out forms before entering your planetary space? That is not very conducive towards any potential friends or allies."

| The man just rolled his eyes, he wasnt one for the diplomats as he stood there and listened to this elderly man ramble off titles and names he knew nothing about as he was handed a datapad. "This is a list of expected vessels and personnel coming to Iope. There is no listing of a Viridian Sky or delegation from Lorrd. As it is now you've disrupted planetary travel and are currently taking up a position in orbit that was slated for another vessel. This is why forms and appointments are necessary, to ensure that travel to and from Iope is orderly and not disruptive as you have already done so. We are asking you to leave unless you are able to provide any kind of showing that you are in fact whom you say you are and from where you say you are as I see no diplomatic representative among you, just paper pushers."
While the situation on the landing pad continued, Aisu stood silently in the office over looking it, watching and looking at the shuttle and the six that had come from it as he crossed his arms over his chest.

| "Then perhaps sir, you consult with the Imperial Senate for a listing of current Representatives and Senators."
From behind both parties walked Exar Ray, the Senator of Dantooine, to join the rather large group as he made his way with by himself. He had arranged with Representative Stark to travel to Iope, as Exar himself wanted to view this corporate-run planet himself. He held no bias towards it's new form of government, rather he was curious as to how it could run. As he was within distance of the group, he would reach from his coat pocket a data-pad and rather rush it into the hands of the lead security guard that was causing an un-needed ruckus on the surface.
"Exar Ray; Senator and Administrator of the Khoonda Administration of Dantooine, it's a pleasure, sir."
Everything would be in the data-pad, signed with the Imperial Seal to ensure that everything was in order. Nodding some, the Senator from Dantooine widened his view rather to en-corporate the scenery of Iope's surface, smirking some.
"You'll find that our visit here breaks no laws or security clearance, and rather we are empowered by the Senate to take these trips of Goodwill to ensure that applicants are simply not pulling the wool over our eyes. And any threats or actions said or taken against us sir... is a direct offense of the Imperial Charter and could warrant us to recommend against Iope's entry into the Imperial Senate."
The old man's eyes shot to the head of the security detail.
"So, with that in mind sir, I recommend that we get this tour underway and perhaps get on the right footing, wouldn't you say?"

| As Senator Ray bypassed the adjutant, Timmons coughed slightly. "We also have the personage of Senator Exar Ray of Dantooine with us, as an observer. If you'll take this data pad I have with me, you'll see that as adjutant to Representative Stark, I am fully empowered to sign treaties and assess the conditions of Iope. Representative Stark is indisposed at the moment on board the Viridian Sky; we expect him to join us later. In the meantime, the yacht can be moved out of high orbit so that it is taking no space up. I assume that with a busy world such as Iope is that you have, shall we say, long-term parking available for larger vessels?"

| One of the other six security guards there took the datapads from the two. "Sir." The lead nodded as he took each of them and looked through the datapads, flipping through the documents on them as he looked up at Mr. Timmons. "That is why papers and appointments are made and kept. A proper document lists how long a vessel is slatted to stay in orbit and expect to arrive on time and depart on time." When he finished with the first datapad, the one from Timmons here merely tossed it to one of his security guards whom then returned it as he looked through Senator Ray's datapad as he took notice to the cane that the elderly gentleman had before he once more tossed the datapad to one of the men whom returned it before the lead just turned.
"I hope you like walking then, and I do hope you're able to stomach the cold." As the lead turned he made a small motion, the other guards taking their place before they stood silently in two rows of three on each side to escort the "diplomats." It was a good walk from the landing pad towards a group of waiting speeders. Aisu stood silently in the office before he stepped out, watching from the shadowed catwalks away before he headed towards the Government building alone to get things ready. Their first stop though wouldnt be the government building, if they wanted a tour, they would get one. The pilots of the speeders had been given orders to take the group to the Western Frozen Pine Forest.
