Word had come down through the chain of command, or up through it, depending on how one looked at it, that a Jedi had been captured by a Mandalorian who was holding him on Utapau. While this in itself was not surprising, it was interesting to Deschain that the man had not simply brought the Jedi to a more secure Imperial world. Nonetheless, the High Inquisitor had decided to go forth and retrieve the Jedi from the Mandalorian, which was what brought the dagger-shaped vessel of Deschain's Vindicator-class cruiser to Utapau's orbit and Deschain himself to its surface, where, presumably, the Mandalorian would make the handoff.

There had been rumors of a Utapauan resistance combating the Empire, on the planet he currently set his feet on. Whether they wanted to help out, it was up to them but he was gonna do this alone. He was hoping to bump into someone he wanted. The warrior had an EE-3 carbine rifle and a pair of WESTAR-34 blaster pistols, as well as various gadgets, if he needed to defend himself. Anubis was about to face a daunting task. The Empire had better sent an Inquisitor, for he had request one himself. The only reason he knew of the Inquisitors were because he had seen one killed Camden from a distance. Unfortunately, he was way too late to save what may have been his hope in rescuing Kenas. Anubis would wait on the surface for someone to show up. Specifically, he waited way below the usual levels where all the sentients usually hung out. There was even rumors this particular hole was the site of Obi-Wan's fall a decade earlier.

The Mandalorian would wait in the shadows, standing on a large rock, with his usual Mandalorian shock trooper armor. The carbine rifle locked and loaded. Deschain would have to land somewhere else, as he did with his Pursuer-class Enforcement Ship. It's landed onto a hangar bay several levels above. Standing into the sunlight and on another rock in the middle was a man in Force cuffs, wearing a ragged robes to indicate he had been involved in some action. Anubis kept his rifle trained upon the man's head, awaiting an arrival.

The Empire hadn't just sent an Inquisitor. A High Inquisitor had come, complete with his own cruiser and army, more or less, in the form of the Purifiers. The location he'd been given was a bit off the beaten path, but as he left his Sentinel-class landing craft behind at one of landing bays, watched over under the eyes of the local garrison stormtroopers, Deschain made his way easily down to the location where he'd had the word passed on him for the meeting site.

Deschain was in prime form, but there were several points that stuck out rather suspiciously to Deschain. Firstly, if the Mandalorian did want to make a turn-in of a Jedi captive, he should have waited at the local garrison. Secondly, he'd asked to meet in an out-of-the-way place where few if any of the natives traveled. Nonetheless, Deschain had a plan in place, just in case this was more than met the eye; he never took unnecessary risks and a LAAT/i gunship, loaded with Purifiers, was circling high, high above the meeting site, ready to drop in if needed.

The gunship could be heard above. That indicated two clues: That the Jedi was important and someone they sent could also be equally important. That has to be both a good and a bad thing. It's like having a double-edged lasersword. The Mandalorian would watch from the darkness the descent of an Inquisitor. Good enough, but does he have the same face as the one that killed Camden? He would find out in a moment. The Inquisitor was clearly prepared. Good, that only provide more eagerness to Anubis. By now, the Mandaloria. Knew the man had suspected him. His purpose wasn't subtle, it was obvious.

Deschain would see the man in robes standing in the clear, and a shadowy figure behind the supposed Jedi. At the moment Deschain had set afoot, Anubis slowly set the rifle to stun. That's the man he saw on Imperial Center. It would be nice if the natives jump in to deal with the gunship, but he'd have to do it himself. One of the gadgets includes a missile launcher mounted atop of the jetpack, of which could disable the gunship of the engines were hit. Only the engines, though.

Anubis used the HUDs to scan to see if he could obtain the name, but it came back saying the file was classified. What matters now is he recognize the face. "You know, Inquisitor, this Jedi wasn't much of a challenge." A firm tone would be heard.

If the Mandalorian intended to shoot down the gunship at such extreme range, he'd have to be a hell of a shot. At the height the LAAT/i was circling, it was out of any easy reach for the time being anyway. For Deschain himself, recognizing any sort of 'face' would be rather hard behind the holographic mask he wore of blackness. Nonetheless, he stopped a good distance away from the Mandalorian, far enough for raised voices to be heard between them. A large rock was to his right and open space to his left, giving him room to maneuver.

"Then you'll be pleased that I'm here to take him into Imperial custody. All we need to do is go topside to the Imperial garrison and I can authorize your payout, as well as take custody of the Jedi." Gathering the Force, Deschain reached out, probing to feel the Force-sensitivity of the Jedi. He was curious to see how adept the man was, after all. "Thankfully you bounty hunters all want a piece of the action."

Oh, Anubis could always fly up and shoot the gunship down...but that would be a suicide mission. Even for the most experienced Mandalorians of all. Though, it isn't in their blood to back away from the challenge. The warrior grinned slightly inside his helmet, "I don't want the money. I'm not a bounty hunter. I'm just a pissed off Mandalorian trying to make things better for my own people."

There was Force sensitivity within the man, but it was faint. The man didn't have a lot of training in the ways of the Jedi and was drunk all the time...drowning the sorrows in wake of Great Jedi Purge. Anubis was willing to sacrifice a pitiful Jedi to avenge the good ones. The Mandalorian slowly nudged the Jedi in the directions of the High Inquisitor, watching his every move...as well as the portable scanner inside his helmet to keep track of the gunship. That's the moment Anubis slowly moved his rifle slightly to be pointed at Deschain. It wouldnt be seen in darkness, though but Deschain certainly can sense something's up when the warrior began to speak once more. "Do tell, where's that damn lasersword you picked off a dead Jedi back on CORUSCANT?" He spoke the name of the planet as an emphasis, as if he dared not to call it Imperial Center.

If that doesn't arose the Inquisitor's suspicions, what will?

It was a wise decision for the Mandalorian not to challenge the gunship, for while even if he did manage to fly up and shoot it down, there was still a fully-loaded Vindicator-class cruiser in orbit to contend with.

Sensing the diminished Force sensitivity within the 'Jedi,' was Deschain's first tip-off. The man barely had any spark in him worthy of being called Jedi. In short, either this man was a fake or a terrible Jedi. Either way, it didn't seem likely that the Mandalorian was being entirely truthful, and the first words he spoke as the captive began to walk towards Deschain tipped the High Inquisitor off. Still, when the Mandalorian finished speaking, Deschain was fairly confident what was about to happen.

Still keeping the captive between himself and the Mandalorian, Deschain laughed. "You mean the lightsaber I took from a failure with a child army before I slaughtered them? That would be this one here." Even as he twitched his cloak aside to reveal the row of three lightsabers hanging from his belt; three of his favorite trophies, he pushed out with his other hand, thrusting through the Force to hurl the 'captive' back into the Mandalorian while twisting his body towards the cover of the large boulder nearby.

Ohh, the Inquisitor was bold enough to show Anubis Camden's lightsaber. He knew what was about to happen as well. The Mandalorians and darksiders have a long history together. It seems likely that Deschain was going to attack. That's fine with him. The Mandalorian would have to pay attention to the Force that would be used by the Inquisitor. Like the "captive" had been hurled toward Anubis. While he was going to focus on the Inquisitor, he needed to get the Jedi out of the way so it wouldn't be a three-way battle. He fired off a stun toward the man, and activated the jetpack. He wasn't escaping, but he knew the gunship was going to join the fight. The Mandalorian might as well be mobile, making it difficult for anyone to shoot him down. In the process, he fired another shot, hoping to hit the Inquisitor.

"Target the gunship, but do not launch." He spoke inside the helmet, giving a command to set the program in place. He wanted the missile to be ready, should he need it. Moving in the air, would the gunship be able to chase somethig as small as a flying Mandalorian?

The first stun blast struck the captive squarely in the back, taking the man out of the fight and dropping him in an unconscious heap, more than likely. By the time the Mandalorian fired again, Deschain was already behind the boulder and the stun blast splattered harmlessly off the rock. "Drop the troops," Deschain barked into his open comlink. The LAAT/i, formerly circling in the open, headed away from their battleground and conveniently out of sight and lock of the Mandalorian's missile, unless he chose to pursue the craft. What it would be doing though was landing lightly on the pad where Deschain had parked his own craft and disgorging thirty red-armored Purifiers.

Deschain prepared himself as well. Snapping his arms down to his sides allowed both of the curved-hilt lightsabers to spring out into his hands as he ignited them. If the Mandalorian was actively using his jetpack, he wouldn't be able to use it for too long. Even the Z-6 jetpack, made famous by Boba Fett, only held enough fuel for one minute of continuous operation. For now though, Deschain waited for the Mandalorian to make his move, even as he gathered the Force once again.

Anubis had suspected what the gunship was about to do, and their next move confirmed his suspicions. They were landing somewhere nearby to dispatch their troopers. That's fine with him, because he opted not to pursue the gunship. Instead, letting the jetpack take him to three levels above the Inquisitor. The Mandalorisn would change the rifle from stun to kill, before strapping it at his right shoulders. He'd pull out both WESTAR-34 blaster pistols. This choice of weaponry gives him flexibility, just the way he likes it.

Anubis wasn't surprise to see the Empire utilizing their usual tactics, of which is overwhelming the enemy. That was okay, because the troopers were some time away from the Inquisitor. He decided to deal with the Purifiers first, wanting to thin the numbers out first. The warrior wanted to divide and conquer. The collection of laserswords told him that the Inquisitor was talented at fighting. Thus, the Inquisitor would he equal to several of those men. Plus, if the Utapauans saw him fighting several whites, thy might jump in. Who knows?

Once he got on the third level, he would run up the pathway with heavy footstep being heard. He wanted to save the Inquisitor for the last, and because he wasn't stupid, there was something planned for the Purifiers. He hoped their predictability would serve him well, since he had a few surprises in place. There were a few trip wires, and some old-fashioned booby traps were waiting for hem such as a hundred wooden sticks being put together, as well as a large boulder being held back by a smaller rock.

Whether the Purifiers would recognize them before it was too late was up to them. The Mandalorian made sure there was no more than one way in or out of the bottom level. His pistols ready to fight the Inquisitor's handpicked troops. Anubis moved to duck behind a curve that would have served as a cover for him with the incoming Purifiers while he watched his back for Deschain.

With the Imperial garrison now alerted to the presence of a threat, localized troops were likely to be mobilized in conjunction with Deschain's own forces. The Purifiers had not actually been ordered into combat though; their task was simply to keep the landing area locked down, largely for Deschain's benefit and to prevent the Mandalorian from backtracking and escaping easily, unless of course his ship was elsewhere.

What the Mandalorian might not have known, though, was that he was not the first of his kind Deschain had fought and killed. The last one had been an up-jumped Mandalorian by the name of Vil Haran. Hopefully this one would provide more sport. Unhurried, as Deschain knew there was nowhere for the Mandalorian to go to, at least not easily, Deschain headed back up through the passages. He walked in the open, unafraid of traps. After all, there had been none on the way down, and even at a good walking pace, it wasn't likely the man would have time to set much up before Deschain pinned him between himself and the stormtroopers who would likely be coming before long to investigate and subdue the threat; after all, Deschain hadn't ordered the garrison to stand down.

And so, up the levels the High Inquisitor moved.

If the local garrison indeed are coming from the opposite direction, then they would likely run into Anubis' traps. Besides, the Inquisitor was the top priority out of all the adversaries he was about to face. However, it is best to thin the numbers out first before facing Deschain. The Mandalorian might not have a choice though. Instead of continuing to move away, he would utilize his Mandalorian tendency in shooting his way out. But first, he used the HUD to scan whoever was the closest.

Anubis would be down on one knee, while pointing the pistols toward the path of the Inquisitor. To his back, there was a missile launcher primed and ready to launch toward the whites on his command. Whether the Mandalorian would get out of this fight remains to be seen.

The local garrison's primary concern was preventing an uprising on Utapau, not the apprehension of the Mandalorian. Nonetheless, for once, Deschain was having fun; more fun than when he'd swatted that annoying little Kulan fellow. No great loss there. Still, as Deschain rounded another corner, lightsabers in hand, he could only reflect on the amusement that the Mandalorian was foolhardy in challenging him.

Indeed, stupidity may seem to be in play here. A vengeful Mandalorian taking on the High Inquisitor. At least, he isn't the type to bow down to a "wrong form of authority." Anubis had a duty and honor to bound to. The child soldiers, as well as a Jedi Padawan, were slaughtered by Deschain and his hand-picked troops. It was all his fault. Anubis had allowed Camden and his "soldiers" to depart before they were ready.

The Mandalorian felt responsible and knew the blood were indirectly on his hands. He hadn't done a single right thing ever since leaving Mygeeto following a failed uprising. Perhaps after this encounter, if he survives, he'll return to his people to help them fight the Empire instead of waging the war by himself.

When it became apparent the local garrison or Deschain's guys weren't going down to assist the Inquisitor, Anubis quickly modified a very small part of his upcoming plan inside his own mind. He kept the pistols trained upon the only path that'd quickly be led to himself. But he lowered his stance a little bit so a missile can be launched toward the ceiling that were made of rocks. Anubis also made sure his distance was sufficient to avoid getting blasted away. The explosive won't be launched until He spots Deschain around the corner though, two laser bolts won't be launched from his pistols until after the missile had been launched as well.

Specifically, the bolts would be aimed for Deschain's legs. By now, Deschain would have known the Inquisitor wasn't going to get killed. The warrior wanted to give him a worse treatment than how Deschain had decided Camden's fate.
