| As her repulsorlimo streamed through the skies of Coruscant, she was in her own world. Her datapad displayed facts about both sides of this conflict, and the conflict itself. Occasionally, he aide would attempt to speak to her, but she was unaware. It had been so long since she had honestly held negotiations, despite multiple offers to do so in the past, that he mind was in overdrive on the matter. She wanted to be the Galaxy's negotiator, as it were, able to help bring peace, not war, to the galaxy. She was far from the stereotypical Deralian, and it was for the better. Whereas she believed in words bringing peace, her people generally believe in guns bringing peace. Today was proof, in her eyes, that such belief would only cause more war.
Under escort now, by a group of Scout Troopers on Speeder Bikes, just in case anyone attempted to disrupt the peace talks, she broke from the datapad to take a drink of water. "What are you going to say, m'lady?" a voice suddenly said that nearly startled her. She had take a moment before she could swallow the water in her mouth, otherwise she would have likely choked. "I'm sorry, Nazli... these negotiations have me so wound tight, I appear to have tunneled out on you. What were you saying?" she asked, genuinely feeling bad for having ignored the poor girl the entire ride from the Senate Building. Nazli was a girl who looked up to her with every fiber of her being. She idolized her, and wanted to become her. It was flattering, and she strove to live up to the pedestal that the girl had put her on; thus, she felt the warmth of blushing run across her cheeks at the moment. "It is alright, m'lady. What will you say to them? The Aurilites and Lorrdians?", she said, likely a different form of the same question she has been trying to ask her the entire time they had been in the repulsorlimo.
It was a simple enough question, but one with too difficult an answer. "I'll be perfectly honest with you... I have absolutely no idea..." she responded, genuinely. Then something happened. Something she realized had not happened in a very long time. She laughed. Hysterical, uncontrollable laughter, that likely made her appear insane, but she noticed Nazli had joined her in doing so. At least they were insane together. Once she had composed herself, she flicked the datapad off and looked upon her assistant. The rest of the ride to their destination consisted of catching up on Nazli's personal life.
It was difficult to get out of the repulsorlimo when they arrived. It had been so long since the two had a long talk like this, and she honestly enjoyed it. The Ambassadorial Habitation Pyramid was covered in black, grey and gold banners today, with red carpet outstretched. A military and Senate Guard presence was noticeable, but not overwhelming. Just enough to keep unwanteds uninvolved in today's proceeding. Once an porter came up with an umbrella, she exited the vehicle. She waited however, for another to come and provide such for her aide. "It always rains here... I miss the sun..." she remarked under her breath. After a moment, they entered the building.
There was no further planning or research. Once adjusted out of her outerwear, she entered the conference room, dressed in a traditional Deralian robe, albeit intricate and purple in color. She settled down in a chair that was set at the midway point of the table. A chair to her right had her aide seated. The chair to the left sat empty. At the head of the two sides of the table were chairs, with a chair on each side of the table at the appropriate end, for the dignitaries and their essential staff. Were there any more, they would simply have to stand. Through this, the Empire was sending the message it would be only as accommodating as necessary to the two sides. Now, she sat and waited for the Aurilite and Lorrdian dignitaries.

| Day 1 Negotiations - Imperial Center - Ambassadorial Habitation Pyramid
Roman Lekpin was traveling through Imperial Center within the pleasant confines of an armored repulsor limo. With him were three members of his staff, as well as a pair of Lorrdian guardsmen. As his vehicle cruised through the streets, he considered the paperwork before him, as well as what it might take to find a peace. The act of finding peace of itself was likely to be troublesome and the Auril Sector didn't seem likely to want anything more than a lot of credits or blood in return. Not for the first time, Lekpin considered ordering all the ethnic Tionese picked up from Lorrd II and jettisoned into deep space, just to make up for in part the loss of lives on the station in question.
Quelling those thoughts, Lekpin at last arrived at the Pyramid. Straightening his tie and proceeding into the building, Lekpin ignored the rain, which was a constant on Imperial Center. Into the conference room he strode, followed by his staff. Finding his seat, Lekpin sat quietly for the moment, waiting for the Auril Sector man to arrive.

| Cynum had some fellows arrive early and thus were already in the conference room when the Lorrdians arrived. They were having refreshments brought to them in the form of Azure Sector Ruby Port from which they tippled as they waited for negotiations to get underway.

| She nodded to both parties as they took their seat. She allowed from time for both sides to become settled; and despite the Aurilites providing their own refreshments, she had ordered complimentary refreshments also offered, simply water. She had a glass and pitcher of her own. She, slightly nervously, drank from her first glass throughout the wait between her sitting and the settlement of both parties. Once the time seemed to come, she re-filled the glass and then cleared her through. "Legate Hues, Senator Lekpin; thank you both for joining me today at the table of diplomacy," she said, as she set down her datapad. Her aide lifted one of her own, and had a stylus ready, preparing to take vigorous notes.
"Let me say, at this time, that the loss of life, in any way other than natural causes, is a horrible atrocity. Today, we gather not as enemies or belligerents, but as simple beings of the galaxy to bring about peaceful resolution to the differences that separate us. War should be a last resort, if a resort at all. War is to be avoided today, gentlemen. I am mediator of these negotiations, and while I hope you two can settle this matter on your own, recent Senate proceedings leave doubt of that happening. My rules are simple; keep parliamentary language at all times, be respectful of your fellow delegate, and no threats of any kind shall be tolerated. Only one shall talk at any time. I reserve the right to step in at any time, at which point any and all discussion must immediately cease. If I make any demand of either of you, it must be respected, as I am the only individual in this room acting on the authority of the Emperor, and shall be treated as such."
She took a brief moment to let those opening words sink in, and hopefully let them know that is was she that would be ruling this room today, not them. "Now, at this time, I ask that each party give an opening statement, as well as a set of grievances with the opposing side and a list of compensation they would deem acceptable for the achievement of a peace settlement here, today."

| Lekpin had poured himself a glass of water and loosened the cuffs of his sleeves a little, allowing some slight relaxation within this setting. Hearing Aurelius' words, he nodded in agreement. "Fair enough, Senator. Fair enough. I will cede the floor for the time being to Commodore Cynum and Legate Hues, as they are the plaintiffs in this matter."

| Commodore Cynum was some tens of thousands of lightyears distant and not present. The Diplomatic Legate stood "Within the Tionese Custom which makes up the basis for treaty of the Auril Union, it is commanded that the Lord of the family wronged may name a blood price, it is also customary to charge further for the expenses incurred in reclaiming the Wergild from the party which has wronged us.
We offer the following terms: 1. Peace and Cordiality between Lorrd and the Auril Union, the Lorrdian Government is recognized as representing it's world. 2. A washing away of the blood feud. 3. The unconditional withdrawal of all Auril Union and affiliated forces from the Kanz Sector back to their own Sector. 4. The mothballing or sale of all ships designed or procured for the carriage of land troops. 5. The people of the Auril Sector solemnly swear that they will not move any military or paramilitary vessel within one Parsec of the Kanz Sector without the permission of the Kanz Sector Moff and the Lorrdian Government. 6. The Auril Union will deploy free engineering teams to help produce a replacement space-station for Lorrd. 7. The Planet of Lorrd, having honourably paid it's blood price, will be granted the honour of the Auril Union providing military guarantee of it's independence and airspace while it returns to normality; up to and including the deployment of forces to protect Lorrd or attack those who strike at it.
Our price is: 1. Fifteen Billion Imperial Credits in Wergild and expenses rendered, this is to be paid in annual installments for the next fifteen years to the Imperial Taxation Bureau, who will ensure that they receive a 20% cut in exchange for enforcing the debt. 2. The guarantee that the states on Lorrd which have entered separate negotiations for peace with us (Lord Bowe's Frezen Province and Lord Stark's Kinyov Province) shall not be penalized for seeking the path of peace. 3. Lorrd must disarm it's present fleet to pre-war levels. 4. Those of Tionese Blood, of any religion, who wish to leave Lorrd or Lorrd II will be transported (securely in the case of dissidents) to Auril space within a month of signing.
We're open to your counter offers, but we think our initial offer is extremely generous and would caution Lorrd against seeking to equivocate too far from our reasonable demands." The Legate smiled and took a seat, twirling his moustache smugly.

| Lekpin took another sip of water and cleared his throat briefly before leaning over to whisper briefly to one of the advisers who sat close to him. After a few moments of exchanged words, he stood and cleared his throat. "In response to the terms set forth by Legate Hues, we agree to the following terms, though any thoughts or alterations I shall mention after what it accepted or not accepted:
1. Peace and Cordiality between Lorrd and the Auril Union, the Lorrdian Government is recognized as representing it's world. [The Ruling Houses of Lorrd and its Tricameral Government are already recognized by the Imperial Senate as a representation of Lorrd's governing authority.]
2. A washing away of the blood feud.
3. The unconditional withdrawal of all Auril Union and affiliated forces from the Kanz Sector back to their own Sector. [Lorrd cannot speak for the Kanz Sector in its entirety; it is neither our place nor our right. We speak only for the Lorrd System.]
[I cannot accept these specific terms as it implies that the Lorrdian Government has a place of control greater than that of any other planetary system within the Kanz Sector. Movement of Auril Sector vessels near or within the Kanz Sector is something to be taken up with the Sector Moff and not simply with us.]
6. The Auril Union will deploy free engineering teams to help produce a replacement space-station for Lorrd. [While this offer is appreciated, it is not a necessary offer. Lorrd would prefer to repair its own damaged or lost possessions in-house.]
7. The Planet of Lorrd, having honourably paid it's blood price, will be granted the honour of the Auril Union providing military guarantee of it's independence and airspace while it returns to normality; up to and including the deployment of forces to protect Lorrd or attack those who strike at it. [Once again, while this offer is appreciated, it is not something the government of Lorrd feels comfortable with, especially with the offer of aid from our current allied partners and affiliates.]
In regards to the prices asked, we have the following counters to offer:
1. Fifteen Billion Imperial Credits in Wergild and expenses rendered, this is to be paid in annual installments for the next fifteen years to the Imperial Taxation Bureau, who will ensure that they receive a 20% cut in exchange for enforcing the debt. [This is a truly excessive amount, as my advisers have agreed. We would agree to two billion credits, which is already an impressive sum and would not run the risk of damaging any infrastructure of Lorrd. Furthermore, the bulk of this payment could be paid immediately so that any families with lost loved ones could receive aid from the monies rendered.]
[If Lorrd is to disarm its present fleet to pre-war levels, it still maintains the right and authority to modify its existing fleet composition.]
4. Those of Tionese Blood, of any religion, who wish to leave Lorrd or Lorrd II will be transported (securely in the case of dissidents) to Auril space within a month of signing. [This agreement is partially dependent upon Moff Shirnoq's orders concerning the Vianists and an Imperial view upon the religion. As always, any Lorrdians wishing to depart Lorrd have always been welcome to do so.]
"While some of the demands set forth are understandable, we believe our counter-offer is fair as well, as much as our acceptance of such things." Lekpin sat down as well, foregoing the smug look.

| Here is our counter-offer. I feel some points were misunderstood in the initial document. Clauses 6-7 of our offers removed. We are willing to offer to render aid if required and called upon to do so as a general pledge - rather than a formal obligation.
We've included some mutual obligations and niceties, we're also conscious of Lorrdian finances and have so agreed to drop the Wergild by three billion credits.
Let us remember that the cost of a single great clash of fleets can expend twenty or thirty billion credits in mere hours. We don't wish to see war my Lorrdian counterpart, any more than you do. My people have fought and fought in the cause of humanity, for survival and against aliens of all kinds, from Hutts to Seps.. We would be sad if such a clash of forces would be between men, instead of against an alien abomination or traitor to the Empire.
Second Auril Counter-Offer
Mutual Agreements
1. The posting of manned embassies at each of our capitals, with land to be donated for their construction. 2. Each party commits to donating ten million credits annually to the Tionese Orphans Fund. 3. Each party forges the other a ceremonial blade which shall be adorned with the blood of the leaders of both parties and exchanged to solemnize the end of the Blood Feud. 4. Both parties will provide a confidential list to the other of whom funded their war effort (although amounts may be left confidential). 5. Slavery is an abomination to all men, Tionese and Lorrdian alike, and both the Auril Union and the Government of Lorrd agree to do all that is possible to prevent the deplorable traffic in slaves, and to return slaves of either extraction to their home world or sector if they come upon them; so long as they are not legally enslaved as per Imperial law. 6. Both parties will share data on sightings of pirates, slavers or rebels. 7. Both parties agree that their ships shall (if within their power) take every measure possible that does not endanger their own safety to rescue distressed ships of either party. 8. Both parties allow the free movement of diplomatic, civilian and humanitarian ships within their space, regardless of party; unless there is a compelling reason to decline such access.
We offer the following terms: 1. Peace and Cordiality between Lorrd and the Auril Union, the Lorrdian Government is recognized as representing it's world. 2. A washing away of the blood feud. 3. The unconditional withdrawal of all Auril Union and affiliated forces (referring to Auril Union affiliates) from the Kanz Sector back to their own Sector. 4. The mothballing or sale of all ships designed or procured for the carriage of land troops. 5. The people of the Auril Sector solemnly swear that they will not move any military or paramilitary vessel within one Parsec of the Kanz Sector without the permission of the Kanz Sector Moff and the Lorrdian Government (both will be consulted) for the next year. 6. The Auril Sector will erect a monument on Lorrd to commemorate the heroism of those who died in the War.
Our price is: 1. Twelve Billion Imperial Credits in Wergild and expenses rendered, this is to be paid in annual installments for the next twelve years to the Imperial Taxation Bureau, who will ensure that they receive a 20% cut in exchange for enforcing the debt. (This would make one billion credits due annually for twelve years, a sum which could hardly be said to "stagger" the Lorrdian economy - the estimated price of keeping a fleet at war for two months, I might add, is close to this) 2. The guarantee that the states on Lorrd which have entered separate negotiations for peace with us (Lord Bowe's Frezen Province and Lord Stark's Kinyov Province) shall not be penalized for seeking the path of peace. 3. Lorrd must disarm it's present fleet to pre-war levels for three standard months, after which it may modify it's fleet as it wishes. In the event of an emergency it may mobilize forces once more for the duration of the emergency. 4. Those of Tionese Blood, of any religion, who wish to leave Lorrd or Lorrd II will be transported (securely in the case of dissidents) to Auril space within a month of signing. Pending the approval of the Moff of the Kanz Sector and with our assurance that we will continue to detain and re-educate Vianists until they are cured. 5. Lorrd constructs a memorial on Nespis VIII to comemorate the heroism of those who died in the War.

| Indeed, a clash between fleets would be rather expensive, in both terms of loss of life and credits. As well, Lorrd is far from a warlike world under any standards, and we do not wish to see our beautiful planet in ruins. As such, you've made a number of good points within your latest proposal, but there are still a few minor concerns to be addressed.
Mutual Agreements
1. This would not go over well, I fear. Most of the government and population would prefer to see Lorrd and the Auril Sector part ways and that be the end of it. Having an embassy within each others' capitals may well serve as a constant reminder of what happened already. Rather than strive for a friendship, it might be better to strive for neutrality before anything.
2. Pending regulation by an Imperial governor, this seems like a very fair measure. The Tionese Orphans Fund can likely do much good for the Tion Hegemony's people who have lost families.
3. The forging of a ceremonial blade is acceptable, but there are those who feel that the drawing of blood with it, while symbolic to the Tionese, is slightly... well, too unusual to Lorrd. However, the first portion is quite agreeable.
4. Both parties can provide this list. Lorrd has taken no reals pains to hide our contributors.
5. Lorrd does what it can, within its sphere of influence, to stop illegal slavery, and so is willing to commit to this.
6. The sharing of data on the listed types of undesirables is acceptable.
7. This request is also acceptable. The odds of Auril Sector vessels and Lorrdian vessels being in close proximity notwithstanding, our vessels would make the same movement to aid Auril Sector vessels that we would any other worlds' vessels.
8. Auril Sector diplomatic, civilian or humanitarian vessels will be welcome in the Lorrd System provided they follow the rules and regulations set forth governing all standard visits of such types of ships. However, until the Empire has placed a further stance on Vianists and any ethnic Tionese Vianists notwithstanding, humanitarian ships are still requested to remain away from Lorrd II.
In Regards to the Terms
1. Accepted.
2. Accepted.
3. Accepted.
4. Accepted.
5. The issue with this still stands. The Lorrdian Government need not be consulted if the Auril Sector wishes to move vessels around the Kanz Sector. That is solely the area entrusted to the sector governor. The wording of this still, in our eyes, implies that Lorrd runs the Kanz Sector as equals to Moff Shirnoq, which we do not. Our direct authority is the Lorrd System.
6. The Auril Sector, if willing, can donate the money to Lorrd for the erection of a monument towards the heroism of those who perished in the war.
In Regards to the Price
1. Even with the drop in credits, one billion per year is still expensive and would require more shifting than certain members of the Ruling Houses are willing to abide. However, in counter-offer, we increase the allotted sum to four billion credits, which is felt by a large number of analysts and advisers to be more than adequate for even twenty families to take care of them and theirs for quite some time.
2. Accepted.
3. As Lorrd is not going to move against the Auril Sector, we will disband our fleet to pre-war numbers until replacement vessels are fully constructed, at which time we will proceed to modify our fleet in terms of ships. However, we agree not to increase the number of ships until the three-month limit.
4. Accepted.
5. Lorrd will donate directly to the Auril Sector so that a monument may be constructed on Nespis VIII to commemorate the heroism of those who perished.

| "As for the amount, we will settle at five billion Imperial credits. Paid in annual installments, to be paid through the Imperial Bank who will serve to enforce the agreement and for which the Empire will receive twenty percent of the amount accrued. The first payment to be made on signing." spoke the Legate.

| "Then this compromise will be accepted." Lekpin nodded. "At some point in the future, Lorrd is willing to explore the possibilities of embassies on our worlds, but this is not the time for that I fear. If this is acceptable to you, Legate, I ask the thoughts of Senator Aurelius for closing."

| Auril Union Lorrd Treaty for the Preservation of Peace and ending of Blood Feud
All clauses, stipulations and factors present apply to the worlds under the control and influence of both Lorrd and the Auril Union, who will ensure and guarantee their enforcement and that their citizens abide by them. Mutual Agreements
1. The maintaining of a secure communications frequency between Lorrd and the Auril Union in order to facilitate dialogue in future. At the expense of the Auril Union. 2. Each party commits to donating ten million credits annually to the Tionese Orphans Fund. 3. Each party forges the other a ceremonial blade which shall be adorned with the blood of the leaders of both parties and exchanged to solemnize the end of the Blood Feud (blood is not required on the blade presented by Lorrd). The Auril Union and its worlds will not solicit order or encourage ships of any variety to move to or around the restricted zone on Lorrd II.
Auril Commitments
(Primarily from the Auril Union - although both parties remain bound by all terms)
1. Peace and Cordiality are declared perpetually between the parties, the Lorrdian Government is recognized as representing it's world. 2. A washing away of the blood feud by the Auril Union. 3. The unconditional withdrawal of all Auril Union and affiliated forces (referring to Auril Union affiliates) from the Kanz Sector back to their own Sector, Lorrd guarantees it or its citizens will neither solicit nor conspire in further military action. 4. The mothballing or sale of Auril and Lorrdian ships designed or procured for the carriage of land troops. 5. The people of the Auril Sector solemnly swear that they will not move any military or paramilitary vessel within one Parsec of the Kanz Sector without the permission of the Kanz Sector Moff for the next year. 6. The Auril Sector will pay a moderate sum for a monument on Lorrd to commemorate the heroism of those who died in the War.
Requirements from Lorrd
1. Payment to the Auril Union of Five Billion Imperial Credits in Wergild and expenses rendered, this is to be paid in annual installments for the next twelve years through the Imperial Taxation Bureau, who will ensure that they receive a 20% cut in exchange for enforcing the debt and convey the remaining 80% to the Auril Union. (This would make one billion credits due annually for twelve years, a sum which could hardly be said to "stagger" the Lorrdian economy - the estimated price of keeping a fleet at war for two months, I might add, is close to this). 2. The guarantee that the states on Lorrd which have entered separate negotiations for peace with us (Lord Bowe's Frezen Province and Lord Stark's Kinyov Province) shall not be penalized for seeking the path of peace. 3. Lorrd must disarm it's present fleet to pre-war levels (numerical, capital ships and fighters) for three standard months, after which it may expand it's fleet numbers as it wishes. In the event of an emergency it may mobilize for ces once more for the duration of the emergency. 5. Lorrd donates a moderate sum to erect a memorial on Nespis VIII to comemorate the heroism of those who died in the War.
