Stock Hammerhead-class Cruiser specifications for comparison

Designation- Hammerhead II-class heavy cruiser

Length- 375 meters (elongated for additional equipment space. Elongation occurs in midsection of ship.)

Engines- 5x ion engines (additional engine added.)

Hyperdrive Rating- Class 1.0 (upgraded from Class 2.0)

Armament-

  • 4x Triple heavy turbolaser cannons (upgraded from 4x dual heavy turbolaser cannons.)
  • 2x Turbolaser cannons
  • 4x Point defense flak cannons (upgraded from 2x point defense laser cannons)
  • 4x Quad laser cannons (upgraded from 2x quad laser cannons)
  • 1x Tractor beam emplacement

Compliment- N/A (additional hangars and docking stations removed to allow additional equipment.)

Crew- 180 (computerized systems allow for lowering from 300.)

Passengers- 50 (lowered from 400 to make room for additional upgrades.)

Shielding- Prototype ablative shield

Shield Components- Generator and capacitor

Shield Process- The ablative shield generator functions as a normal shielding device, absorbing attacks until it has been overwhelmed whereupon it must be recharged. The capacitor absorbs 25% of all energy attacks against the shield, lessening the damage taken by the shield and rerouting it to the weapons or engine systems for additional energy. Once the shield is down, the capacitor cannot function as it has no source to absorb energy from.

You mention several cases of increasing cargo area but there are no numbers to support the change. How much area are we talking? The original is 4000 tons.

Vote: PENDING

From 4000 down to 1000.

Apologies, I meant that actual supplies and cargo room would decrease to make room for additional equipment.

I'm okay with the request in principle, because I said I would be. To be candid, though, I'm still hostile to the idea and consequently I don't think I'm going to be particularly flexible on this "ablative shield." Time and time again I've politely suggested you use "traditional," if you will, Star Wars technology, and each time I cite good reasons for this. Time and time again, though, another extravagance appears in the next ship design. I don't fault you for it, mind you; we're about creativity here and, of course, you can do this if you want and I'm grateful you've included an explanation of it for us. Also, I admit I'm being kind of a dick about it. That said, I've been accommodating in the past but I'm not going to approve of this "ablative shield." If such a thing existed, everyone would have it; if not now, everyone would have it 5 or 10 years from now, and that doesn't happen (as we see in the films). That's the canon standpoint. From an RP standpoint, this troubles me because it's basically a "forever shield"—each hit makes it stronger, or at least as strong (you say the energy is routed to the weapons or engines, but it could just as easily be routed back to the shields). I know that you've built in some limitations to this, and I do appreciate that. But I'm still not okay with it in principle, I'm sorry.

Also, "triple heavy turbolaser cannons"—not necessary. This is one of the problems with Knights of the Old Republic's portrayal of this thousands-year-old technology as basically the same as "modern" Star Wars technology; I appreciate you wanting to update the ship, but truly, the stock specifications seem to be adequate already. The rest of it seems okay, although I would prefer either 4 point-defense laser cannons or 2 point-defense flak cannons, but not 4 point-defense flak cannons. I'll vote to APPROVE provided these are corrected, please.

I'm willing to drop the ablative shield in favor of trading using the space for additional generators to shift energy to either weapons, shields or engines; much like the other modified Sluissi vessels.

On the turbolaser cannons; perhaps two triple cannons? After all, this is a flagship and the pride and joy of Sluis Van.

Could we perhaps go for two flak and two laser for point defense?
