Acherin Request

Now, I'm by no means done yet, but I figured I'd get this request out of the way:

I'm requesting the following:
-Acherin Soldiers
-Acherin Security Personnel (And SWAT)
-Acherin APC
-Acherin Speeder Bike
-Acherin Tank
-Acherin Infantry Fighting Vehicle

A fleet of the following:
3 Acclamator II-class Assault Ships
1 Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser
2 DP20 Frigates
1 Lucrehulk-class Battleship (Stationary, to act as a Custom/Battlestation) (No hyperdrive and engine is only used to help make the ship corrective orbit action)

Also:
That Eluthan be reconstructed as a Military/Government complex, complete with laser fenses, guard towers, security cameras placed at different angels that way everything is spotted without a moment's hesitation, multiple patrols, multiple established checkpoints for vehicle checks, a speed route for Xane to take (which is monitored by the ASF), the Black Hand building, which would be the headquarters for the Counterintelligence unit.

The Hand of Acherin to serve as something like the White House on Acherin. It would come equipped with an underground bunker in the event that something were to happen, and only Xane and a few of his closest members would have access to it.

The only thing about this request, is that Eluthan was destroyed in the Imperial Bombardment, so I'm requesting that a 1/3 of the city be used, while the others would serve as various ranges and ultimately the scrap would be collected and used as additional resources.

I'm digging it all here, but could we get some info on the custom items, please?

Sure, no problem:

-The Acherin Soldier is the equivalent of a stormtrooper. The only notable difference is the gear they wear.
-The Acherin Security Force is the equivalent to the Telosian Security Force. Only difference is their equipment. SWAT Personnel undergo specialized training to handle such emergency responses.

Now for the vehicles:

Name: Acherin Armored Personnel Carrier
Manufacture: Acherin Military Limited
Length: 10 meters
Height: 6 meters
Crew: 3 (driver, vehicle commander, communications)
Passengers: 10
Armament: 1 light repeater, 1 light flex missile tube
Max speed: 103 km/h

Name: Acherin Tank
Manufacture: Acherin Military Limited
Length: 12 meters
Height: 7 meters
Crew: 4 (driver, tank commander, loader, communications)
Passengers: 0
Armament: 1 heavy turret laser cannon, 1 light repeater
Max speed: 55 km/h

Name: Acherin Speeder Bike
Manufacture: Acherin Military Limited
Length: 4.5 meters
Height: 2 meters
Crew: 1
Passengers: 0
Armament: Light blaster cannon
Max Speed: 360 to 500 km/h

Name: Acherin Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)
Manufacture: Acherin Military Limited
Length: 7 meters
Height: 5 meters
Crew: 3 (driver, vehicle commander, gunner)
Passengers: 0
Armament: 1 light repeater
Max speed: 150 km/h

(If specs arn't reasonable, feel free to change it. FYI, I did get some information from real life vehicles)

The Hand of Acherin:
-Would come equipped with various security cameras, and not to mention ceiling blaster turrets in the event that the building was either attacked or some sort of security protocol was breached. Another measure would be that all the vents would close and spit poison gas into the hallways. Once the threat has been taken care of or the right protocol has been entered, the gas would be vented out of the building.

-Xane's room would have 4 means of security measure; Finger print, voice recognition, eye exam, and last but not least... ear wax recognition.

A whole lot to look into here, it's going to take some time. It comes with the territory of custom designs, I'm afraid.

I APPROVE of the following:

■ Acclamator II-class Assault Ship
■ Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser
■ 2 DP20 Frigates
■ Lucrehulk-class Battleship (stationary)
■ All designs

Sorry for the wait on this, buddy. The fleet was downsized primarily because of this being the starting point of Acherin, and no one has really advanced there fleet much beyond a similar point yet. Balance, the bastard of RP.

The combination of a Dreadnaught's firepower on top of 2 DP-20's would be almost more than I'm comfortable with even without the addition of a Lucrehulk battleship albeit for defense purposes only. For Acherin, that is (which I don't imagine as the sort of regional superpower that I fear this request would make it, especially with the instability of its government and the divisions we've seen in its society, on top of its inconspicuous canon role). For a first request, I'd be more comfortable with 1 Acclamator, 2 DP-20's, and the 1 stationary Lucrehulk. Would either Karth or Orion be willing to agree? Of course I do APPROVE all the designs.

I can get on board with those numbers, Jace. What say you, Jaron? Xane?

Well, the only reason I requested the Dreadnaught was so that I could send a ship out if need be to do whatever while having a few ships in the rear in case something happened. I also requested it because as I was looking through the fleets of other people, I felt it would help balance things out. The Lucrehulk Battleship for 90% of the time wouldn't even perform as a battleship; more as a Customs role (That isn't to say however, that it couldn't be used for defense) I figured it would be easier for me. I mean I will be happy to get rid of it (If need be), but even though Acherin is in the current state, it's not going to stay like that forever. I already have posts lined up as soon as this request is approved to help balance it out a little.

That's understandable, but my own approach to fleet requests—because A.) it tends to make things more interesting in my opinion, and B.) it encourages planets to "team up" and combine forces, thus more RP—has consistently been to compel a choice between either offense or defense, but not both at the same time. It's not a rule, but I suppose a personal rule. I've mentioned it before; here (second paragraph), here (second paragraph), here, here (first paragraph), here, and here. So I remain against the Dreadnaught because, as you say, it would give Acherin this simultaneous offense/defense ability and, moreover, because "balance" doesn't seem appropriate between Acherin (less than 1 million population) and, say, Druckenwell (9.3 billion), Brentaal (65 billion), or Alsakan (1 trillion), etc. It seems to me that a pair of DP-20's and an Acclamator cruiser are just about what we would expect Acherin to be able to field compared to these others. I hope that explains my reasoning on this.

Safe to call it APPROVED, I think. Since Orion is on trippin' dots at the moment.
