As Lorrd is starting to feature more into the RP, I'd like to revisit this request here.

Specifically the portion on the Vindicator and the Tartan cruisers. Once again I would offer the reasoning that the station is rated to be able to warrant such defenses.

It has been a month... and since we've seen some worlds and factions exponentially increase their requests this month, the restraint is very much appreciated. You are right too, in Lorrd beginning to become a part of the RP.

But of course, Orion.

Not everyone needs thirty million Star Destroyers and ten billion TIE fighters and a dozen Death Stars to provide decent world defense.

I vote to DENY the Vindicator-class cruiser because I'm concerned that its proliferation in the RP is the thin entering wedge (literally) of a significant explosion of firepower in the RP that can easily spiral out of control. Obviously, this isn't all your fault, lol. But recently it seems planetary fleets across the board (er, across the forum) have been ascending in lethality. Anaxes was just approved a Star Destroyer—this is the first time this has happened for a planetary fleet in this era, I'm quite sure (the occasional Venator-class aside), and the Cronese Mandate's fleet is the largest I've seen in AGW in years (yes, plural). I'm worried about this trend.

Another point, though. Right now, Vindicator-class cruisers have been approved for two factions; the Cronese Mandate (a sector of 400+ worlds) and Brentaal (a Core World described as "unspeakably wealthy" with a population of 65 billion). We don't know much about Lorrd, its population, its economy, etc. My personal reading of it puts it on par with, say, Acherin. It's not a Brentaal or a Cronese Mandate though, surely. I'm with Orion in principle in that I want to reward Lorrd for its activity in the RP, so I'm going to support more ships for it but not, I'm afraid, a Vindicator-class.

Oh, sweet.

So I can have a Venator or an Acclamator II instead? smile

And Jace, if it makes you feel any better, once this request is approved, I'm not going to ask for more ships, unless it's station-related or an improvement to starfighter squadrons.

I'm very close to being okay with an Acclamator-II. Acclamator-I? Definitely. Acclamator-II? I just don't know.

I'm just going off of what the station said it was capable of calling in as support. To be honest, I'd prefer the Vindicator, largely because that would make Lorrd hold a nice fleet and for what details I intend to fill in about the planet, it would make it more... feasible, I guess.

Unless you want to default to Jace's thoughts, and go with an Acclamator of either type (I'd be fine with the II), my judgement still stands as is. Any other takers?

Don't get me wrong, I'd take the Vindicator over an Acclamator-II any day. The final choice rests with management though as to which.

Well we seem to be at an impasse. Ideally, we could lash some opinions out of Karth or Tremaine rather than rushing a ruling on this. I'm firmly against the Vindicator-class for Lorrd, which I personally see as an Acherin or a Naboo in terms of the planet's scale and its ship numbers. I'd prefer it not have an Acclamator II, either. It's just out of proportion with ship requests for comparable planets at this point in the RP. Only now, for example, after a year or more of observing how Druckenwell conducts itself and its fleet in the RP, would I be comfortable approving a Vindicator-class cruiser for it. (I elaborated on the reasons for my reluctance in my first post, above). As for the Acclamator II, I'm still not sure. I can convince myself to approve of one if Karth or Tremaine are in favor of one too.

I can wait for a ruling.

The Acclamator-II was a direct reflection of the station itself though; stating in part what it was considered worthy of sending it as a defense.

And my vote still stands. Since we've given Karth and Erik both ample time to do anything here, and both of them having not done so, Jace... mind giving us some closure here?
