Since the recruitment thread here, which was still uncontested, I would assume that the Mynocks have cemented some ties with the system's less-than-desirable folks. The recent militarization of the Cronese Mandate and their actions are more than likely to have upset the majority of the aforementioned undesirables. If the idea is approved, I would like to request, for a one-time use, a group of the pirates banding together to rise up against the local Cronese Mandate military at Algor.

I apologize to management ahead of time. I just had a question and a concern.

Just as a quick courtesy request. Could I please see some numbers of what I could expect to be dealing with?

I also had a small concern. Why would out of the blue a handful of pirates, smugglers, etc etc out of no where decided to rise up against a government that has for the large part paid no attention to them and over looked their existence. Sorry, but to me, from a point of common sense it makes no sense. It would be like a handful of criminals in the US rising up just because they haven't been arrested or singled out by law enforcement.

If this request is approved, then I'll go on to list numbers. Kind of a moot point until then.

As for rising up? It's called insurrection. Just because you've paid no attention to them doesn't mean you haven't decreased the quality of their lives; made it harder to do what they do and more or less caused a bunch of outsiders to cruise through the Cronese Mandate where they live. I can imagine it's like living in a hotel or motel and the owners keep picking fights with gang members across the street.

Undesirables of this nature are adverse to authority. The Cronese Mandate is certainly a more "authoritarian" democracy than the other governments, and while this group has largely been ignored, they are certainly a group who would stand vehemently opposed to military expansion. That military expands, they can reasonably expect that their being ignored just wouldn't be so for much longer. That is, unless, they are on the government payroll, but in that case, their peers are not going to like them too much; case in point, if you read early post-endor literature, Han Solo was shunned by practically every smuggler or pirate he knew, with exception to Lando Calrissian and Talon Karrde (who was more forced to work with the New Republic rather than willing partner, even if he became a strong supporter, more or less, of it).

Your reasoning is sound; I APPROVE of this idea!

Thank you, Orion. You explained better than I could have. I should have you write my essays. Haha.

Anyway, I believe there would be enough pirates and smugglers who'd be willing to commit the following forces against the Mandate, if one compares to what Han Solo pulled against the Imperials with a bunch of smugglers.

1x Neutron Star bulk cruiser

2x Conqueror assault ship

4x Nova Courier

4x Muurian transport

6x YU-410 freighter

6x YV-100 freighter

3x YZ-775 freighter

24x Y-TIE fighters

24x R-41 Starchaser

24x Z-95 Headhunter

I'm not convinced. I do find Robeir's argument here more persuasive. We also shouldn't forget that Robeir's authority is more illusory than it seems, in that the Cronese "Mandate" is an Imperial mandate. If Robeir has been even somewhat dismissive of pirates in Mandate space, he's a better alternative than the Empire rocking up and shutting them down completely in the event that an "insurrection" against Robeir succeeds in destabilizing him enough. Both the pirates and Robeir (I assume) have in common a desire to keep the Empire out of Cronese space, so I don't really see pirates wanting to go all revolutionary and upset the status quo when the alternative to Robeir is probably worse, and a lot more "authoritarian." As long as Robeir isn't haranguing the pirates, I'm simply not seeing a reason for them to involve themselves in this.

Also,

I'd be a lot more open to this once the blockade of Chandaar is resolved.

I'm willing to hold off until the blockade is complete.

I'd like to change this request to a two-time request. Given the current situation in the Mandate, it's actually quite likely that the pirates would back the Mandate against the blockadeers, for fear that one of the blockading planets or the Empire would step in and lock down the sector. As such, I would like the above-listed ships, only fighting -for- the Mandate.

So, I APPROVE of the following.

1x Neutron Star bulk cruiser
2x Conqueror assault ship
2x Nova Courier or 2x Muurian transport
4x YU-410 freighter
4x YV-100 freighter
2x YZ-775 freighter
12x Y-TIE fighters
12x R-41 Starchaser
12x Z-95 Headhunter

And I vote to DENY the following.

2 Nova couriers (or 4)
2 Muurian transports (or 4)
2 YU-410 freighters
2 YV-100 freighters
1 YZ-775 freighter
12 Y-TIE fighters
12 R-41 Starchasers
12 Z-95 Headhunters

However, still only for use after the Chandaar conflict is resolved. I don't think I can support bringing new ships into existence to participate in the Chandaar conflict that didn't exist before the conflict began. It just doesn't strike me as fair to the other participants, well-intentioned though it is. Basically, what I said about teaming up applies here all the same, whether it's teaming up for or against someone (unless it's based on RP that's happened already).
