So in reading deeper about Sluis Van, apparently the docks are protected by battle stations and a perimeter defense network. As such I request the following be established.

1x Golan III
3x Bavos I stations

The above stations would provide direct cover of the docks and be positioned so that any station could cover at least two others. The Golan compliment would be Flare class assault fighters.

The defense network would be centered by a FireStar class orbital platform, backed by ten Large Gun/Warhead Placements with crews being changed twice daily from shuttles on the FireStar.

Furthermore, fifty LD-12 satellite lasers and fifty MD-12 missile satellites would complete the network, bring activated or deactivated from the platform.

In the future everyone please include a list of current forces in all requests for additional forces.

Quote (Sluis Van Defense Fleet)
■ Modified Class 1000 Cruiser
■ 2 EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigates
■ 3 IPV-1 System Patrol Craft
■ 4 Law-class light patrol craft
■ 4 Light Corvettes

These numbers are correct?

Okay, thanks for that. A bit heavy on the firepower though with these space stations. I think I can APPROVE of 2 Golan-II platforms if the Empire supervises the operation of them. (I'm told the Golan-III platform doesn't exist yet, but either way, a Golan-III is more firepower than I'm prepared to approve of in this case).

So is that a negative on the defense network portion? And how about a Golan II and two Bavos platforms? I recall you being a fan of platforms over more ships. I can see the Empire having political officers and security detachments on the stations, but daily coordination and security falls to the hands of the residents, human and Sluissi, of Sluis Van.

The defense network is fine as long as it's comprised of 2 Golan-II platforms. I'm not comfortable approving even one Bavos platform on top of what Sluis Van already has on top of the Imperial presence there on top of the shipyards themselves presumably being armed. On further consideration, I think you'll agree the Bavos platforms, FireStar station, the Gun Emplacements, and the rest of it aren't necessary, unless you plan to have Sluis Van be totally self-defensible without any use of your fleet. This would be in contravention of the established precedent on these matters which I don't think it's necessary for me to re-state.

APPROVED:
2 Golan-II Space Defense Platforms w/Imperial supervision

DENIED:
3 Bavos-I Military Space Platforms
1 FireStar-class Orbital Defense Station
10 Large Gun Emplacements
50 LD-12 satellite lasers
50 MD-12 missile satellites
