The Senator would watch his good colleague speak, providing a good and accurate presentation so far. So far, the Senator of Mowgle seems to agree with Airstrike. Trust is such an issue between people who wield powers beyond comprehension and those that are pretty simple. This is one of the agendas that is right on the top of his priority list as a Senator. If he, along with his own wife and a few others, can trust the Jedi then they have to find a way to spread the influence throughout the galaxy. He has always realized that. Tremaine would look at Ilanah for a moment, then back to the stage.

The Senator would stand up from his chair, and began to speak. "First of all, I would like to say that I agree with both Mr. Fitzgerald and Senator de Crion. I don't mean to point out the obvious, but this is clearly something that needs to be worked on. Trust isn't something to be developed through fear and forced beliefs. A lot of us have witnessed this firsthand and secondhand right after the Clone Wars and continued throughout the Galactic Civil War implemented by the Galactic Empire. Now, a lot of people also don't trust the Sith because many believe that they are both Jedi with different philosophies but that's entirely a different story. Anyway, there were several people who have asked me whether I truly trust the Jedi. I have always given out the very same answer and that is yes, I trust them with my life. However, if a reporter were to ask me if the Jedi were perfect."

Tremaine would pause for a moment, only to take a sip out of the glass that had water in it. "I would say that they were far from perfect. Sure, they have the Force to make them faster, read people's minds, fight better, et cetera. Even though they have that at their disposal, they are not without flaws. As evidences pointed to Kyp Durron and Darwin Sky, no one is perfect. Not even the Jedi. Master Skywalker have been trying really hard to show the people of the galaxy that the Jedi are not above the laws, and I applaud for his efforts. The problem is people don't realize that while there may be a few Jedi that are misguided, the general population of the Jedi Order are decent people. They are just like us everyday, there's no reason we should look at them differently. The only exception is that they have the Force to aid them, obviously. The galaxy looked at them differently because of the expectations imposed upon them. They don't need to burden themselves with such thing."

The Senator would take another sip from the glass, "I believe we should take Senator de Crion's advice, and that is to have the citizens of the New Republic interact with the Jedi more often. We should start proposing programs that encourage cooperation between the New Republic and the Jedi. That would lure the Jedi out of their isolation habits, and then people would start to realize that the Jedi are just like ordinary people. I would be glad to work with Senator de Crion and several other Senators that believe as we do in proposing several programs in the Senate. I would go as far as offering my services as a liaison officer between the New Jedi Order and the New Republic, that is, if the Senate approves this. That is how strong I believe in improving the relationships between both factions."

The Senator had realized that he probably had said too much, and would go ahead and sit down. "You have the floor."

Ilanah listened quietly, though she was scribbling some notes on a datapad with a silver stylus. She caught Tremaine's gaze for a moment before he began to speak and she smiled a little before she turned her attention back to her notes. When he was finished, she hesitated there for several minutes before she spoke up.

"My son is in the Jedi Academy currently. I know that Eli and Tremaine know that, but I wasn't sure about you, Mical." Ilanah started slowly. "His father, however, was not a Jedi, not even a Dark Jedi. It's not often that I admit it, but it is the truth without doubt." The senator paused and then pulled herself to her feet before she sat down the datapad on the table and instead of standing still or in front of people, she paced. It was her way, and it helped her think.

"I want Caden to be....protecting a galaxy of sentients who want him to protect them, not a galaxy that doesn't. I know it is an odd example, but it is all I have." She sighed and paused behind Tremaine. "We can't let people be afraid of the Jedi, that is for certain. Knowing Caden's father, I can understand the hesitance for people to trust a Force user. What people don't understand, they cannot trust, right?" She said before she moved back towards her seat.

"And of course, Eli's suggestion is perfect...interaction with the Jedi. If we can show the galaxy through our actions and the actions of others who hold that trust, then perhaps what we seek will begin to come to fruition."

"I would be more than happy, with the Jedi's permission of course, to share my visit to the Academy to help start that campaign....if needed, of course."

As the others spoke, Eli had nodded respectfully, glanced about the room at the reactions on the other delegate's faces, and, like Ilanah, had taken notes. But when Ilanah rose to speak herself, he found that he was too preoccupied watching her to watch any of the others, or to take notes. He had missed her, as he'd missed many things from his time on Coruscant—things he hadn't truly appreciated while he was too absorbed in politics and policy. In fact, the last time he'd seen her, for lunch at the Sky Room, he'd had to leave early because of politics. Then, of course, the voters of Ralltiir decided that he had to leave Coruscant altogether. It was one of his great regrets on that long, quiet flight back to his homeworld that he hadn't said goodbye to her.

Eli blinked, returning himself to the moment and concentrating on Ilanah's words. When she concluded with a reference to Eli's suggestion, a number of eyes drifted in his direction, expecting him to comment. He cleared his throat. "I think that would be a good start," he said, "And that was, indeed, exactly what I meant to suggest. Not necessarily more interaction with the Jedi, mind you, at least not in person, not yet, but rather more exposure to the Jedi and their teachings. This could be as simple as good public relations—visits from Senators, perhaps spreading the word of the charitable work and the many other positive things that the Jedi do. And most importantly," he added, tapping his finger on the table beside his coffee cup to emphasize, "More exposure and understanding of the Jedi teachings, standards, and so on. In other words, what makes a Jedi different from a Dark Jedi or a Sith."

"The fact is," he said, regretfully, "Many people don't know the difference. Tremaine mentioned the Clone Wars, and that's part of it. Dooku was once a Jedi, so was Vader. Luke is Vader's son, and he's married to one of Emperor Palpatine's former apprentices. Let's not forget, either, that we all grew up being told that the Jedi were a danger to society—the Empire spread that propaganda far and wide for decades. Don't get me wrong," he added, "Many people do appreciate what the Jedi do, and well they should. But the rest, I think, just need more time to get to know of the Jedi and their ways."

"Ilanah has the right idea, I think. We, as Senators, can spread the word to our sectors, our governments, our media, and our people. I'm not a Senator anymore, of course, but I can probably help in this as well." Indeed, he had brought a reporter from RNN with him to cover the summit, after all. "But if you'll excuse me for a moment," he said, pushing his seat out from the conference table, "I had rather a long flight and I'd like to get some fresh air outside for a moment, if no one minds. Please do continue the summit, though." He stood and nodded to Crion, then smiled for a brief moment at Ilanah as he turned to leave the room. It was the same, warm smile as ever, but with something different—a suggestion, perhaps. A moment later, he stepped through the open door to the conference room and made his way down a corridor that he assumed would take him outside. He took his time, stretching his legs as he went.

A x-wing starfighter would make its way toward the coordinates provided by the Freeworlds, apparently being run by Senator de Crion. Master Saal doesn't have many outside contacts, so it's natural for him not to know whoever is important and who is not. However, he knew that this Senator de Crion was an important man since this Senator was the one who hosted the Summit in hopes of improving the relations between the New Republic and the New Jedi Order. The Jedi Master was being escorted by the Tapani military into the conference room. The Master had only just begun to get out in the galaxy more frequently, due to the recent appointment to the Council that was, of course, approved by the Council itself. He was told that he was needed on the Council, due to his experience in the Force and wisdom. He had been a Jedi for merely a decade, but he was a Baran Do member for five decades. His experience in the Force had helped gain respect and he was able to provide assistance. He has been a primary teacher for classrooms full of younglings for years now, besides Master Skywalker of course.

Due to Master Skywalker being preoccupied elsewhere and was going to be late for the Summit, he had recommended that Master Saal goes to represent the Jedi Council. Before he walked into the Conference Room, a man walked past him. No doubt the man is a participant of the Summit, and the Master would simply bow down to him before getting inside. The Kel Dor would make sure to have his lightsaber on his belt revealed. The purpose of this is to show those that the Jedi can be as disciplined as everybody else in the galaxy. "I apologize for Master Skywalker's absence, he was taken up elsewhere. I am here to represent the Jedi Council and the Order itself. I am honored to be in your presence." The Master would bow down in respect before speaking once again, "I am Master Saal. I hope I didn't miss anything important." The Kel Dor said in a calm tone, as he made his way toward an available seat and had himself sit down.

((Sorry for the long delay on this post guys, and sorry for its shortness as well))

He stood up and gave a bow to the entering Jedi. "Master Saal, thank you for joining us. One of your more martial members, Master Charlie Park was also to join us, but he became occupied by his service in the New Republic Intelligence Service." he said. Although he had not previously mentioned it, he had given a personal invitation to Park to join as he thought the man could give very unique views of inclusion of the Jedi within the Republic. Which is where he now attempted to lead the discussion. "Alright, so, we have a general idea of dealing with the average citizen...now, how do we increase integration, in a civil manner, of the Jedi into the Republic?" he asked them. This had become a largely informal affair, rather than being in the conference room, a gathering of people around a dinner table. As he asked his question, a waiter would offer the Jedi Master a seat and a drink should he want one.

The senator mulled over her own words for several long moments before she finally snapped her attention to the matter at hand. She had found her thoughts drifting more and more lately, perhaps a product of her condition, or perhaps something else.

As usual, she found herself in agreement with Eli. It actually pained her when he mentioned that he was no longer in the senate, though it was something that she had known for a long time already. It just bothered her to hear someone say it, even himself.

Her gaze fell to Tremaine for a moment as he paid attention to Eli, his expression thoughtful and attentive as usual. That was how Tremaine was. It was how he always had been. Ilanah turned her attention back to Eli just in time to see him smile to her. As he walked out, she followed with her gaze for a moment. She pulled herself to her feet and smoothed her hands over the voluminous silk skirts of her rather elaborate burgundy gown. "Would you pardon me for a moment as well?" She murmured to Mical, then Tremaine before she vanished out that same door and down the corridor.

The heavy skirting of her ensemble swished against the sleek flooring of the building and her heels clicked and echoed down the empty hallway as she caught up with her friend. "It was getting stuffy in there, wasn't it?" She murmured as she finally caught up. The doors were just ahead and once they were reached, she pushed the button and they slid open.

"Are you alright?" She said as she narrowed her eyes a little. There was an obvious tone of worry in her soft, lightly accented voice.

The Senator would simply nod at Ilanah when she asked to be excused. Tremaine knew that she loved being a Senator, but couldn't stay in a room too long. She has a tendency to go on breaks during events such as this. It wouldn't surprise Tremaine if she had decided to go out of the room to freshen herself up. Tremaine would probably have gone out to stretch his legs or something like that, but he considered the Jedi Summit a top priority. It was a top priority for both his personal life and work life, which usually should be separated. However, this one is blending pretty well. Caden, his stepson, is a Jedi and Aris, his daughter, is a Youth Legislator. They get along pretty well, but that's mostly because both Tremaine and Ilanah was able to parent them through the differences. He was not concerned with his family life, and wouldn't use his children as an example of the capability of the Jedi and the Republic getting along due to them being half-brother and half-sister.

The Senator of Mowgle had spotted a Jedi showing up, no doubts being sent by Master Skywalker in case he would miss the whole conference. Just because this Jedi isn't Master Skywalker doesn't mean he isn't important. He would take a moment to stand up off his chair to bow down to the Jedi in respect. "It is a honor to have you here. We are pleased to have you here, and we are eager to hear your views on the issues regarding the Jedi-Republic relations." Tremaine had never seen the Jedi before as he have been to the Academy a few times to check on Caden. Although, he knew that it is very common for a member of the Jedi Council to be occupied most of the time. In some ways, they are alike Senators. That is one of several reasons why he does not believe the Jedi are above the people, but treat them with the utmost respect. They should be treated as allies, and Tremaine had hoped to keep it that way.

The Senator would have his mind re-focused on the present, listening to what Senator de Crion has to say. "Senator de Crion, in order for that to happen, I believe it has to start with people within the government. That includes Senators, Intelligence agents, Republic soldiers, et cetera. I am not saying that the Jedi should be embedded into the government. I am saying that in order for people to trust the process of integration, the government has to show that we are willing to trust the Jedi with such task. If we can't show that, then how can the people trust the Jedi to do so? I also have to mention that it would take a financial backing for that to happen, and I am more than willing to use my funding and resources to help make that happen. Any suggestions?"

The Jedi Master would listen in to the Senators' discussion about how to educate the New Republic citizens better on the subject of the Jedi. It made him smile little bit, knowing that there are still people who trust the Jedi after the chaos that ensued the galaxy for four decades. Although the Senators wouldn't be able to see his smile behind the breather that the Kel Dor race would be required to use due to their special condition. The Kel Dor was sixty years old, which means he saw the downfall of the Old Jedi Order when he was just reaching his adulthood. Even though he was a Baran Do Sage and was isolated from the rest of the galaxy at the time, his people studied a lot about both light side and dark side of the Force to see how different these are from each other. He learned a lot about the Jedi and the Sith during his childhood years and early adulthood. Then when the Order of the Sith Lords fell, along with the Galactic Empire, a few years after that came an establishment of the New Jedi Order. He had seen the similarities and differences in both Old and New Jedi Order, but the ways of the New Jedi are very different from that of old.

"I concur that there should be proper education of the Jedi. Too many of sentient beings are not being educated properly. However, education can only do so much. It is not only their fault that they do not understand what being a Jedi is like, but also our fault. The New Jedi Order devote a lot of time into training our students in the ways of the Force. So much that we have become accustomed to the isolationism policy. That is something the Jedi Council have only recently attempt to reverse. Being a member of the Jedi Council, I've spoken with Master Skywalker several times on this issue. We are devoting a lot of time and efforts into encouraging the students to get outside the walls and explore the galaxy, interacting with other sentient beings to help properly educate. You must understand this. We do not wish to isolate ourselves from the rest of the galaxy. While we appreciate the New Republic's contributions to the establishment of the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, we believe that it's time to repay this debt. By repaying the debt, we meant we need to get out and show that we are just like everybody else. The Jedi Council would be more than willing to cooperate with the Senate on the issues concerning the relations, and that is something the Old Jedi Order did not do."

Master Saal stopped speaking, allowing others to step in. He was told by Master Skywalker to get actively involved in the Summit, to show that the Jedi cares about this sort of thing. Master Skywalker wanted the rest of the Order to contribute time and efforts into regaining the galaxy's trust.

((Sorry guys, there was some confusion on whose turn it was. I didn't mean for this to fall so far behind.))

He sat, watching the former Chief of State and Senator Thanatos step outside. He knew the two had a very close and personal friendship, especially when Eli resumed his role as the mere Senator of Ralltiir. Being from Chandrilla, as well as very diplomatic, made her stance with the Anti-Peace movement rather stunning, and puzzling. At the same rate, he knew that Senatore Forte, as much of a firebrand as he was, held an excellent point, that probably had sway with Senator Thanatos. Peace with the Empire was a betrayal of the original goals set out by the Rebellion. It was certainly an interesting dynamic. Some said that Senator Fowlkes was merely going along with the crowd, or in this case, his wife. Deep down, he knew the Senator to be an individual, albeit a conflicted one. He wanted what was best for everyone, akin to Senator Cera. However, he did have a tendency to flip-flop, which gave the media a field day. Regardless of their political views, he viewed all of them as excellent servants to the public. A quality that was not lost upon him despite differing political views when he invited them here. He wanted that diversity in dealing with the Jedi. Before he interjected, he waved down a water for another glass of wine, which once it was received, he took a sip of before speaking.

"It is the duty of the Jedi to train Force Sensitives. While the Order has indeed be isolationist, don't blame yourself, Master Jedi. Now, with letting the Jedi roam free, there in itself, are a number of problems. One in particular, I believe, is ancient Sith Space. No Jedi, should go in there. Every time you have, some major threat has come about, either being discovered or from the very Jedi that entered. While I understand that the Sith intrigue you, I believe that matter should be covered once you have a handle upon training Jedi in the first place. Too many have fallen thus far for me to be truely comfortable with, and excuse me for not having a better analogy, but 'leading the spice addict to the spice factory.' We need to ensure that if the Jedi are to go out into the public, it is to be regulated. We must also ensure, that the Jedi name stays as such. Thus, any Force User outside the Order, should be brought into such or dealt with immediatly. I do not mean to hammer away suddenly, but these are issued that as I have though of them, do concern, and I wish Master Skywalker would take into account." he said, realizing that he was coming across much stronger than he intended, and hoped that he did not send the wrong message.

The Senator of Mowgle took the time listening to Senator Crion's statement toward the Jedi's actions since the formation of the Academy on Yavin Four. Tremaine had always appreciated his colleague's honesty, even if it may be harsh. He knows that honesty may be the best policy when it comes to issues regarding the Jedi. Especially when those issues have the ability to impact the entire galaxy.

"Senator Crion, it's good that you expressed your concerns. That is what we are here for. We are here to express all the concerns regarding the Jedi. You must understand that while there are Jedi that that have strayed from the paths of the Order, it is only a small faction compared to many within the Order. However, you are right on this. Every single Jedi that fell to the dark side had become a threat to the entire galaxy. Maybe it is because the teachings of the Jedi doesn't apply to everyone. Maybe it is because that particular Jedi felt they are able to handle the threat and ended up becoming the threat themselves. I do know this, the Jedi will need to be more careful of the choices they are making. We can't tell what the Jedi should or should not do. Senator Crion, you're right that if the Jedi are to go out in the public, they need to be regulated but not in the way you might think. Maybe we can ask the Jedi to let us know what they're doing, what missions they're on, et cetera, more often. This might not seem much, but it could mean the difference between not knowing whether a Jedi had fallen and becomes a threat yet again...and preventing a Jedi from doing what he wasn't supposed to do."
