"Gentlebeings of the Senate, I regret that I cannot come before you today in person, but at this time, Baltimn is under threat of attack and invasion by Neimoidian forces. If you refer to the attached file," here was where the message between Stomwell and Tiure would be found relaying all the Senator's comments and threats, "you will see this appears to be a joint venture between Senator Tiure and, if not directly Senator Kruus, then someone under his command."

"Please, Baltimn needs the assistance of the New Republic in this dark time."

Jeph Stomwell
Ambassador, Baltimn

This is of course nonsense, likely from a disgruntled customer of R&L who is stooping low in an attempt to avenge himself at the prohibition of the illegal weapon of mass destruction he owns. This though is clearly piffle.

The only Neimoidian involvement anywhere near the Baltimn system is the Neimoidian Research Institute, a peaceful Avionics and Physics facility, which has often traveled the galaxy and regularly sets down outside systems with interesting solar radiation.

This is a facility with limited defensive capacity, but is immobile and has no means with which to assault a planet... This is utterly preposterous. Utterly. I call upon the President of the Senate to call a halt to this debate and dispatch an investigation to verify these accusations, there is nothing but slander being spouted by Baltimn Administration with no direction.

Eli Kruus
Acting Senator of Neimoidia

Jamie the Hutt appeared via hologram from the Neimoidian Research Institution "I speaks my mind, I dont give a damn if you play all my comments all you like, you inhospitable desk jockey. I made no threats of any kind and the accusations of any conspiracy are ridiculous, the only communication I have had with any Neimoidians before today in the last month was a sequence of text messages to my chess-partner Senator Kruus which are very innocuous. "

"I am at the Institute as we speak, and I have seen no signs of them preparing any attack or invasion, I would not be suprised if the Neimoidians chose to take stringent further action, but thats none of my affair. I was visiting Baltimn to investigate, and first was refused to see the religious site I requested to see, then the WMD I requested to see.. then was ejected very rudely along with my Colleague Senator Crion. In the meantime we have taken up residence at the station and await Mr Stomwell's heartfelt apology."

This is a very difficult situation. I do believe a Commissioner must be sent to validate the facts of the situation at the earliest possible convenience, I will summon the nearest Observers from their current duties and I believe they should be in the system within the day.

I am confident that this is some kind of misunderstanding, and I urge the Senate not to leap to conclusions while this is independently verified.

Acting Senator Kruus, you are cautioned that if you have launched an unprovoked attack on Baltimn, you may have committed an offense under the Diplomacy and Recognition Act, and I will be instructing prosecutors to investigate if this is the case.

Ambassador Stomwell, you should be aware that your planets Recognition by the New Republic is at stake here and if you are found to be misleading the chamber I will not hesitate to eject you from the Chamber.

I would like the President to close debate on this matter until the facts are verified. This is an outwage already affecting our stock markets, I would like to head off further speculatory debate.

In order to protect the interests of Neimoidia, I would like to accept Acting Senator Kruus' request. I would appreciate no further aspertions being cast or speculations, from either side, until the situation is determined.

As I understand it from the Chief of State's comments earlier this afternoon, he intends to dispatch one or more New Republic vessels to Baltimn this week to defend it on a temporary basis in the absense of its Ravak & Larben warship. If this is the case, might the Chief of State dispatch this vessel or vessels to Baltimn now? This has the benefit of being already scheduled, and in the event that there is an attack—which, I agree, remains to be seen—the Republic could, thus, assist in repelling it.

While I will order this deployment to be accelerated (Indeed it is due within 5 days as it is) I must stress that even in the event there is a conflict, I will not ever sanction the New Republic Defence Force fighting New Republic Citizens.

If a state of war did exist between Neimoidia and Baltimn, I would as stated see to it the responsible individuals did not escape prosecution for any breaches of the law, and would be in favour of sanctions to bring the conflict to a quick end.

Planets have the sovereign right to declare and fight wars, and my understanding of the law would be New Republic Intervention against a member would breach this right.

While Jamie the Hutt did not make further comment. His holo pad's projection flickered momentarily and he was visibly shaken as a loud rumble of a distant explosion could be heard, Senator Tiure visibly wobbled as the station was hit by the shockwave from the explosion.
