He hadn't wanted to, because Herak had once shown promise. But it had to be done, the man's indecision in carrying out his instructions could not be tolerated in an apprentice, and if Tes'dra was to prepare the galaxy for the great threat that would someday loom in the outer reaches, he could not dawdle. Defeating Herak in a duel had been simple enough - and then calling on the Force, the Way as his people called it, to rip from the man's mind any memory of Tes'dra, or Tarodal, or any of his teachings had been more taxing. That handled, he had tendered his personal - and permanent resignation to the Calipsa family, informing them that he could no longer serve in any capacity. Indeed, not if he was to claim his birthright.
He had informed Senator Cambrist that he was sorry to have wasted his time, but several of his informants had turned up dead, and he could hardly risk the Senator's safety, or anyone else's for that matter. He had promised to be in touch once more in the future once he had collected evidence again, but told him not to hold his breath.
Leaving the Homecoming for Fajra Merav had been simple. He'd simply left.
But where had he gone? All over the news, the Baltim fiasco was quickly escalating into something potentially game changing, but it didn't interest him just yet, a transmission he had received from Vadne had instead piqued his interest. The ship was ready, but it awaited its Captain before it would depart the unknown regions.
And so he'd left known space to assume command of the "Dragon".
