| Bu Ootman was just sitting there in orbit of the sandy and infamous planet known as Tatooine. Jak was wearing his usual clothing, which is almost covered in brown color. He was wearing his usual boots, as of which his feet are leaning up on the controls...carefully, of course. The Jedi Knight took out a cigarette and put it on the edge of his mouth and took out a lighter from the other side of his jacket. Jak would proceed to light the cigarette up, exhaling little bit to get the "fire" at the edge of the cigarette going. After putting back the lighter into a pocket, his hand went ahead and align the hat to make his head feel comfortable. Wokkorro was "grrah-ing, grrah-ing" in Shyriiwook, making comments at the sight of Jak smoking. The Jedi Knight would stare at the wookiee as if he was offended, but the next moment shows that was not the case. Jak allowed a chuckle to escape his mouth, holding the cigarette in his hand. "No, this doesn't look very Jedi-like. Jedis certainly don't smoke. What can I say, buddy? You should have known by now that I'm not one of those ordinary peace-loving, taking things kind of serious type of Jedi." Jak was speaking in a strange accent, one that would notice the accent was commonly used by those that was raised on Nar Shaddaa. It is indeed true that he was no ordinary Jedi, a lot of that has to do with a such colorful history of Jak's. A lot of things he did in the past was very unJedi-like. A very few bounty hunters would turn into a Force user, much less a Jedi Knight. While the Jedi do have enemies, most of Jak's enemies were made from his former occupation. He did a lot that he wasn't proud of, but felt he had no choice but to commit such action. Master Skywalker seems to place faith on Jak, while many of the Jedi do not. Yes, he was considered an outsider among those in the Order. There are three reasons for this: Firstly, his job as a bounty hunter before he came to be a Jedi. Secondly, he had captured and killed Jedi in the past. Thirdly, his typical unJedi-like personality that set him apart from the rest of the Jedi. Even though the Jedi were courageous enough to forgive him of his acts against the Jedi in the past, he had the feeling that the Jedi doesn't trust or respect him. Jak also had made a lot of enemies, including Hutt crime lords, bounty hunters, smugglers, Imperials, and many, many more. He was pretty sure they would come hunting for him out of revenge or petty hatred. The former bounty hunter managed to gain the Knight status due to a large part of his bounty hunting wits that made him very effective, which only made him even more effective with the training in lightsaber combat and the Force. Another reason he was excluded from the rest of the Order was due to his lack of discipline. Enough of the past, Jak was sent to Tatooine to capture a wanted man with death sentences of five star systems. The New Republic had requested that Jak be the man to capture this criminal, along with the Jedi Council's approval, due to his personal knowlege of this particular criminal. An NRI agent had tipped him off that the criminal was on way to Tatooine, and with Bu Ottman, he was able to use the modified hyperdrive to get there before the criminal can dock his shuttle, actually stolen shuttle, and lose himself in the crowd. Wokkorro would grrah-ing once again, using his big and hairy claws to point out in the empty space. Yes, it was very unusual for the orbit of Tatooine to be quiet around this time of the year. The stolen shuttle had emerged out of hyperspace. Jak got his legs off the controls and sat up. "Our catch of the day." The former bounty hunter chuckled while holding the cigarette with his mouth. Bu Ootman was on standby the entire time, was revved up almost immediately. Merston pushed a control, and the light freighter came to a maximum speed. "Reddie, man the gunners." He ordered his astromech friend as the droid beeped and approached to plug himself in so the gunners can be used as automatic. The modified YT-1300 was closing in the shuttle rapidly, "Reddie, disable the engines." Jak ordered. Moments later, the shuttle was hit and disabled. "Pull him in." Jak would draw out his favorite weapon. No, his favorite wasn't the lightsaber. It was a DL-21 blaster pistol. Wokkorro had his usual bowcaster, as both of them made their way toward the opening hatch where Reddie had the ship attached to the stolen shuttle. He didn't need explosives to blow the doors to the shuttle open. He had his wookiee friend use an electronic device where it could hack in and have the door unlocked. Purely electronic, and it made everything easier for the former bounty hunter. Immediately after the door was unlocked and opened, he would shoot the criminal right away. Of course he didn't kill the man, he had it set to stun before the mission began. Jak had a tendency to forget to set his pistol to stun, which is why he had it set to stun before the mission. "Good to see you again, Dan." He spoke to the unconscious criminal, and then ordered the wookiee to take him to the force cell. He would get back to the cockpit to activate the holotransmitter. A moment later, a man appeared. "I trust you have the criminal?" The former bounty hunter simply replied, "The prisoner is secured inside the Force cell. I reckon you want him at Coruscant right away." The agent nodded and had cut off the holotransmitter. Jak chuckled, "Reddie, set the coordinates to Coruscant and get us in hyperspace." Moments later, Bu Ootman entered into hyperspace. On way to Coruscant.

| Jace roused from his sleep with a start, looking instinctively about the controls of his X-wing for anything amiss. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes in time to see the text translation of his R2 droid scrolling out of his view on the display screen. "What?" he said, then read the translation as it scrolled, again, before him. He slumped in his seat. "You woke me up to tell me that we have 93 more minutes to wait?" he asked, incredulously. The Jedi Knight read the screen once more, and shook his head. "No," he said, "No special treatment. If everyone else has to wait this long, then we'll wait this long too." Coruscant loomed large in Jace's viewport, with at least two dozen ships between him and the planet, all of them waiting in line. Now he remembered why he didn't visit Coruscant more often; the traffic was brutal. That, and there was so much to sense on the planet, so many feelings, fears, hopes, and wants, that it made it difficult to sense any of it clearly. Here, a Jedi necessarily had to dim his senses to the world around him or he would have no peace of mind. Perhaps this ... is why the Jedi of the Old Republic had become so decadent, and so out of touch. Then again, Jace harbored some private doubts as to whether the current Jedi were much better. He might have brooded on the subject if a Mon Calamari cruiser hadn't drifted into his field of view in a graceful, stately manner. He watched it for a moment, then closed in eyes in the hope of falling asleep once more. To no avail. He opened his eyes a moment later and glanced at his wrist chrono, then impatiently about his controls until his gaze came to rest on the sensors console. Well, he thought to himself, it was so crowded up here he might as well see if he had any company. Anyone he knew, that is. It took only a moment to identify the familiar signature of the Bu Ootman, Jak Merston's personal ship, as it emerged from hyperspace some distance away and approached the planet. Jace had a certain respect and a certain scorn for Jak Merston. He appreciated that Merston, his fellow Jedi, wasn't bound by the rigid traditions and superstitions that narrowed the thinking of many of his peers. But it was possible to have too much of a good thing; Merston had a habit of taking matters, and the law, into his own hands. There was a thin line between resourcefulness and recklessness, and it was a line that Merston balanced upon precariously. Jace wondered why Merston named his ship the "Bu Ootman." More to the point, he wondered what brought him to Coruscant. Jace reached for his communications console to establish a link to the Ootman, but his gloved hand stopped before he did so, hovering over the console. A rare, mischevious idea occurred to him. No, he thought, that would be inappropriate. He glanced at his wrist chrono again, then at the queue of vessels before him, then back to his wrist chrono. He shrugged, then placed both hands on the controls, fired up the X-wing's fusial thrust engines, and pulled out of the queue. "No," Jace said to his R2 unit, reading the droid's translation once more, "We're just having a little fun." The starfighter came about 360 degrees, leveled out, and proceeded away from the planet for some considerable distance, until it was nearer to and, indeed, well behind the Bu Ootman and outside of its sensor range. By now, Merston would be busy with ground control and likely wouldn't notice as the nimble X-wing looped about again and dropped into pursuit, gunning its engines and drawing closer, closer, closer. Jace glanced from the glow of the Ootman's engines before him to his targeting computer, and back, and forth. And now! Jace acquired a laser lock on Merston's ship, no doubt tripping warning sirens throughout the man's cockpit. A moment later, the X-wing would shoot past the Ootman and roll into Merston's field of view, tauntingly, before pulling sharply away. There was no mistaking it as a challenge. "Hey there, Jak," Jace said, smiling, over the comm, "You asleep in there? Or you think you can get a lock on me in that old hulk of yours?" The X-wing accelerated again, daring Merston to follow.

| The Jedi Knight would be trying to negotiating with the ground control to let his ship get in first. The ground control kept denying. He even went as far as telling them that he has a wanted criminal in tow and that they need to speak to the NRI agent stationed on the planet. "Sorry, sir. We don't give special exceptions to anyone. You must proceed as everyone else." A voice spoke on the radiotransmitter. Jak would clench his fist and smacked it lightly on his left leg, rolling his eyes at the comments. "Grraaahhhhh!" Wokkorro spoke sharply in Shyriiwook. "Oh, be quiet. This is my first trip to 'em Republic capital. I can be impatient whatever I want. I'm not like one of 'em Sith, going berserk everywhere they go. I'm just impatient." Merston would tilt his hat so he could take a nap, crossing his arms and leaned back on the pilot chair. All of sudden, warning sirens went throughout the Bu Ootman. He would tilt his head back and leaned straight up on the chair. "Who the hell's trying to blow us up this time?" This is true, Merston has many enemies. Far more enemies than a Jedi normally would, but even then, he hadn't done anything that would piss someone off lately. The radar beeped, indicating that it was a X-wing starfighter. A couple of moments later, the very same X-wing fly right past the YT-1300 and the former bounty hunter would see it outside the cockpit window. "What the-" He whispered to himself. It was clearly a challenge, the only thing he has to do at the moment is to wait and see who's piloting the fighter. If that pilot wasn't friendly, the rear shield of the Bu Ootman would be affected a bit by then. The next moment, Merston heard a familiar voice. The Jedi would chuckle lightly, turning on the radiotransmitter. The fun was about to start. "Oh, I'm not asleep alright. I'm humbled. The infamous Jedi coming to see the ol' Jak. I reckon you can show me how you earn your reputation." The YT-1300 would accelerate, rapidly increasing the speed. "Reddie, plug yourself in. You get a lock, you get an extra shiny cleaning." The astromech beeped excitedly, rolling to the navicomputer and plugging itself in. "Wokkorro, help Reddie man the gunners." The freighter would move ahead, breaking the line where he was supposed to wait. As long as the criminal is inside his cage, he cannot escape. He would take care of the guy later, but first he got to get Jace. Merston and his crew is now in pursuit.
